My dog likes it. I haven't been able to visit the back area though, when I asked I was told I couldn't go back to see where he'd be playing. So it was a major issue for me. I've been calling for 2 weeks to get his balance and cannot ever get a call back. My dog seems happy there, however, considering he can't tell me what he is doing and I can't visit the back...he won't be going back.

Stan did call and assure me that I can tour the facility and also explained to me how the balance sheets work. I will definitely try again. ?

I have used Mutt Island since 2022 without complaint. On May 13, 2024, I picked up my dog, Nyx, after a 4-day stay and the manager/owner, Stan, nonchalantly states that Nyx has incurred an injury [please see pictures] while he was alone in a commonly used area of the facility. There were so many failures. As a manager and owner, he did not personally inspect the wound when his staff informed him of it. He did not call me when it occurred, depriving me of the opportunity to seek care. There was no immediate investigation of the cause. And most disturbingly, there was no first aid applied to wound.

As a medical professional, I knew that I could manage the wound but any other pet owner should and would have taken their pet to the ER. I called the next day to detail all my concerns and Stan's excuse was that he was "caught off guard" and apologized and stated would be reviewing the security footage to find the cause. Note: They still have not found it.

I simply asked to give my receipts from Hollywood Feed which totaled less than $50 (cone of shame, bandages, antiseptic solutions, etc.) and this request resulted in them severing the relationship. Once I asked, Stan's demeanor changed and he became combative and unprofessional. He cited that I signed a waiver that agreed to not hold Mutt Island liable for injuries and is not responsible.

This is my warning to prospective clients of Stan's questionable business practices. He is under the misguided notion that his waiver is enforceable and protects him from liability but having unsafe quarters demonstrates negligence. This post puts on record for the next incident to someone else's dog that Stan and Mutt Island are fully aware of these conditions and have not acted to appropriately correct them. Thus the waiver's verbiage "Mutt Island will not assume responsibility for illness/injury of my pet unless it is due to negligence on the part of the Mutt Island staff." will be void.

Note: In full transparency, I did take a settlement credit of ~$200 for Nyx's recent boarding which was offered (only after I inquired about submitting the receipts) when Stan chose to end the relationship. Unbeknownst to Stan, this was far more than the $40 in receipts that I was asking to submit but it further highlights his lack of ownership for the poor practices of his business.

We needed doggy day care while we did sightseeing in the area. Mutt Island was perfect! Nice large facility, friendly atmosphere and our dog had a wonderful day there, while we got to experience Memphis with no worries. Great place!!!

We came into Memphis to go to the zoo, so we popped into Mutt Island to keep Daisy for a couple of hours.
After checking her vaccination records, they welcomed her back with treats! When I picked her up, I saw her playing in a room with other small dogs similar to her size. And she must have played hard because she fell asleep immediately in the hotel!
They have a really nice space in a convenient location and seem like real "dog-people"!
We'll be back next time we're in town!

Lovely place! While traveling through Memphis, we wanted to do some activities without our dog, but our original plan fell through. Mutt Island was able to take our dog with little notice (but do bring vaccine records). The employee was kind, helpful, and personable. When we came to pick our dog up, he remembered who was ours without needing so much of a reminder. It was great to let our dog play at dog daycare while we did a tour and Graceland instead of getting stuck at the hotel. Definitely would recommend!

We had an impromptu trip to Memphis at the last minute. We had everything set and organized except for our precious Lady Belle. We called the last minute and asked if Mutt Island had room. He said "Of course I have room!" He thoroughly went through her vaccines shots. Asked a few questions about her personality and what socialization she had been exposed to since this was her first time at a daycare. He didn't want to overwhelm her. We came back a few hours later to a very happy yet tired dog. We were very happy with the professionalism and love for dogs the owner had. If ever in this area again, we will definitely utilize Mutt Island Day Care again !

We full-time RV and we’re staying about 90 minutes from Memphis. We wanted to do some site seeing that was not dog friendly. It is sometimes hard to find doggie daycare when you are from out of town. Mutt Island was able to take in our pups with just a few forms filled out and vaccination records. Our 8 year old dachshund and 10 month old chihuahua mix were well taken care of.

My doggy Milo LOVES coming here! They have great rates, good hours and wonderful people there! Milo is always worn out from playing all day when I get him home! Love that I can just drop in whenever and don't have to make reservations!!!
