Paws Embark -

We bonded with our Brittany puppy, for one week and then entrusted the sweet boy to Melissa for a week of day training. It was the best investment we ever made in one of our dogs' long-term happiness and success. In five quick days she cured him of his fear of riding in the car, got him to stay, respect doors, come well, and do so much more that made his integration into our home the easiest of any dog we've had. She is so kind and has such a bond with the dogs that he looked forward to going every day (and didn't always want to leave). We were able to follow each day's progress through the videos she shared. She even let him keep a stuffed animal he got comfort from when riding in the car. Fast forward to his eight-month-old, adolescent-hunting-breed phase. His prey drive was making things at home rough, but they were no match for Melissa. We took him back for another week of day training. It was a game changer, and we had our sweet, happy little boy back again. The leash was loose once more on walks, squirrels were items of interest and not cues to lunge, and he even stared heeling well. The icing on the cake was one of his field trips, which, again, she films. She took him to Lowe's and walked the aisles with him happily heeling. She even had him sit in place right in front of the highly distracting Halloween display where the workers were triggering skeletons and other distractions. He sat there for close to five minutes with an employee turning around at one point and marveling at him. I wish Paws Embark had been around when our other dogs had been young (or older). It could have saved us a lot of frustration at each phase of their development. Thanks, Melissa!

Miss Maple absolutely love going to visit Melissa and her pack. When she first came home she did puppy school. It was so helpful for her to learn basic skills. Melissa then shared tips for me to use during her evening trainings with me at home. After graduating puppy school, we continued coming occasionally for day boarding while I’m at work. Maple loves to go and see friends and play. Melissa clear loves these dogs and they love her. Btw she send pics daily of Maple playing and that is the highlight of my day. I usually show it to my students

Melissa and her company Paws Embark did an amazing job training my goldendoodle Sully! He did the 7 day board and train which was a great basis for him to learn obedience rules. Melissa then held a session teaching me the training rules, and Sully has continued to do amazing with our work at home. I could not recommend more- Melissa cares so much for the pups and it is such a personalized experience, unlike what you may find at a larger boarding and training company.

Paws Embark has done a remarkable job with my dog, Eli. We started seeing Melissa as a young pup which was crucial for his social development. Unlike large daycare centers, the environment at Paws Embark is safe and each pet receives plenty of individual attention. It was obvious from the first time I met Melissa that she truly cares for each and every dog in their program. Most recently Eli completed a 10 day "board and train" program and I could not be happier with the results. 10/10 - Highly Recommend!

Melissa is the best dog trainer there is in Memphis! She has worked with both of our dogs, Kevin (an Akita mix), and Betty (a Corgi). Each dogs has their own issues, from reactivity to anxiety and Melissa has helped them with it all! She is our go-to for puppy training, board and train, boarding for travel, and general “I need help with my dog” questions as they come up. She’s responsive, always helpful, and most importantly, she loves our pups! When you leave your dogs with Melissa, you know they’ll be well loved (and well behaved)! Cannot recommend more highly!

My dogs honey bear and bobo absolutely loved her. She trained honey bear and boarded Bobo. Bobo never left her side for two weeks. Honey bear came back a new dog. She came a rambunctious, leave chasing, pulling ,unresponsive puppy. She came back a well mannered, obedient, doll!!!! A different puppy in a great way

Melissa is SO AwEsOmE!!! Nola LOVES her and has learned so much!! She also lets Nola come for play dates!!! Melissa loves the pets like we do!! I would trust her with anything. she is a great trainer. Pull up Paws Embark!!!!! She's got my vote!
