Angie was recommended to me by renowned dog behaviorist, Cheri Wulff Lucas. Angie is professional, friendly, and versed in her craft. My German Shepherd responded very well to her while learning to walk with a slip lead, crate, and place that will support us with my dog’s separation anxiety. Angie also has knowledge around balanced dog nutrition. I feel more hopeful about the future with my pup after consulting and training with Angie.

I highly recommend Angie as a dog trainer! Over the past year, she has worked with my dog, Peter, addressing leash manners, low confidence, poor recall and reactivity. Her thoughtful, detailed approach even helped us empower a shy foster who later got adopted which also gave Peter the structure and confidence he needed to be in a multi-dog household.

Most recently, Peter completed Angie’s board-and-train program, and the transformation has been incredible. She introduced him to crate training, place command, and recall (to name a few) while teaching us how to guide him through stressful situations. Angie’s care, patience, and deep understanding of dogs not only improved Peter’s behavior but also made us better dog parents.

As a helicopter dog parent, I trusted Angie completely—her attention to detail validated everything I’ve observed in Peter. Plus, he absolutely adores her, lighting up every time he sees her! If you’re looking for a knowledgeable and compassionate trainer, Angie is the one.

Angie is extremely knowledgeable and patient. It is apparent she really cares about our pets thoughts, feelings, and needs. My dog is already picking up on the compassionate training and we are looking forward to doing more state of mind training with Angie.

Angie is awesome! We've only had one in person session so far but my new rescue, Scotti, has already learned so much. Scotti has some leash reactivity and a tendency to pull on the leash that can make it very difficult for us to enjoy a peaceful walk. After that first session and continued work at home she barely pulls anymore and often corrects herself when she does. Other than her vast training wisdom, Angie is also very responsive to any questions in between sessions and even has weekly office hours. I'm honestly amazed she has time to do everything she does. I can't wait to learn and grow with Scotti on her training journey with State of Mind Dog Training.

We started working with Angie about 2 months ago, we’ve done some hour sessions and a day training, where she took Linus for the day and sent us helpful training videos throughout the day. These videos are are a great reference as we follow through with training at home.

We adopted Linus from a rescue in July at 4 months of age, and we realized immediately he is reactive to other dogs. He would bark, growl, lunge, at dogs that weren’t even near him. Angie’s training style is calm, confident, and it makes sense. It is more about supporting our dog into a calm state of mind and how this will translate into all aspects of our relationship.

One of the best lessons I have learned, is that everything is a training opportunity, with this outlook, it makes the experiences with Linus more engaging and fun for all of us. Instead of avoiding difficult situations we support him through the triggers and we have seen great improvements!

When we rescued our cattle dog puppy a few months ago it was obvious that she had never had any sort of training or structure before. Angie helped us bring calmness and consistency into her life and now she has come so far with her walking, her reactivity to sounds, and her overall patience (ours too!). She also loves her crate now when she used to bark and cry when she had to go in. We highly recommend Angie!

Angie has been a great resource for us and our dog, Hop. He has been developing leash reactivity over the past few months and Angie has had some incredible insight as to why that might be, and has given us a bunch of tips on how to better train and engage with Hoppy to keep him calm. In just one day train session, Angie provided over 20 videos ranging from 3 minutes to 15, showing us exactly what she is doing in specific situations. She is detailed and thorough, making it much easier to understand what we need to do when we’re not with her! Very grateful to have found Angie.

I accidentally found Angie on Instagram, and I'm so glad I decided to look into her training! I purchased the training package which is a great value since you get a slip leash and can ask questions between training sessions. Moreover, you'll have questions arise during your work in between sessions, so it's great to have the next session on the calendar for big questions and to keep you and your dog progressing. Angie does a great job kindly training both dog and owner. Even when she's correcting me, I feel supported instead of judged, and I trust her with my dog. During out in-person sessions, she's great at balancing answering my questions with coming up with new skills and drills to teach me.
