Solid hotel in the Yountville area, great location to walk around talk to get to restaurants, markets, cafes and tasting lounges. Rooms are solid, breakfast was included in our room rate (buffet style in the lobby until 10am), free car service to drop off and pickup guests in a 6 mile radius. Free water in your room, hotel gave us a free bottle wine and snacks. Valet and self parking available.

The hotel was an absolute delight! The receptionists and valet staff were incredibly friendly, and the welcome champagne was a lovely touch. The bathroom, adorned with Diptyque products, was so stunning that I wanted to take the decor home with me. The bedding was excellent, and we ended the night happily watching Netflix. Breakfast was delicious, and I only wish we had more time to enjoy this wonderful hotel. 🙂

I love this hotel, we stayed there for 2 nights with our dog. They not only let you stay with the dog, but also put a dog bed and toys in your room! The service was great in all senses.

Bar and housekeeping service was attentive. Valet was professional and helpful. Hot tub was out of order for 2 days of our stay and no one seemed in any hurry to repair it. One of our rooms had a non functional heater.

A lot of things about this hotel are near perfect! We particularly enjoy the free bikes offered by the hotel to guests.

The biggest problem is with the service — lack of responsiveness. We asked for an extra comforter at around 10pm. Took 2 calls and an hour total to finally get 3 sheets.

The next morning we found the hair dryer not working (it doesn’t blow hot air) and asked for a replacement as well as new bath towels. Again we had to make 2 calls, 30 minutes apart, but still couldn’t get them until we had to leave for an appointment in Calistoga (yes with half dry hair on a chilly morning of ~55F). We left a note at the door asking hotel staff to place the hair dryer/towels inside when you are out. Upon returning, the items were still not delivered. We called the front desk again and asked to speak to the manager oncall. The staff member apologized and promised that guest service department would have the item delivered within 5 minutes. As you may all have guessed, 45 minutes have passed as of this writing and nobody has shown up.

This is a $800/night 5-star hotel.

We recently planned a trip to Napa Valley to celebrate my birthday and enjoy some of the region’s renowned wine. Our journey began in San Francisco and continued with a delightful stay at the Archer Hotel in downtown Napa, which I highly recommend for its exceptional service and attention to detail. However, our experience at the Estate Yountville in Yountville left much to be desired.

Upon check-in at the Estate Yountville, we were neither offered the welcome champagne (which is a typical greeting at luxury resorts) nor was there any acknowledgment of the special occasion we had shared with the staff prior to our arrival. When we politely mentioned both omissions, the staff simply said, “Oh, yes, we can pour you some bubbles,” and later left a bottle of wine in our room. However, there was no personal note or any gesture that might convey the resort’s acknowledgment of the celebration. At first, I assumed this was an oversight, but as we spent more time in the lobby and public spaces, it became clear that the level of service varied dramatically based on the guests’ perceived wealth and race.

While we sat in the lobby, I noticed that white guests or those who appeared affluent were treated with far more attentiveness. They were immediately offered champagne, and the hospitality they received was notably more polished and gracious. The disparities in service, though subtle, were hard to ignore. Unfortunately, if you are a person of color, your experience at this resort may not reflect the same warmth or hospitality extended to other guests.

As a travel agent who spends over $100,000 annually on travel, I was genuinely looking forward to a memorable experience at the Estate Yountville. Sadly, I left feeling disappointed, as my stay was marred by what I perceived to be subtle, yet unmistakable, racial bias in service. While the property itself is beautiful, the hospitality was not reflective of the standards one would expect from a resort of this caliber.

In summary, if you are a person of color, I would recommend considering alternative accommodations. However, if you’re white and arrive in luxury vehicles, you can likely expect a different, more favorable experience.

HVAC went out right after we checked in, within a few hours.

Fantastic staff. Exceptional Napa county hospitality.

The room did have a single trash can that’s awfully small, another very small one in the bathroom, the clothes rack is external and small (can’t hang dresses), and there’s really no where to put your suitcases or clothes. That’s a bit awkward- maybe get luggage racks? Make the closet space not connected to food?

The landscapers did start early every day which was not so cool since our windows were open because no AC.

Housekeeping did a fair job, turn down service every night. However- we did have ants in bathroom that had to be taken care when we got there after we saw them, facilities sprayed Raid while we were there, but they kept coming back and that was that. So we did have them the entire stay. Also, maybe don’t spray Raid while the room is occupied- it drove us out of the room.

If you don’t do well with inconvenience or disruptions on your vacation- find somewhere else. We would come back but at a discount or promotion or free nights. Would not come back at full price or at a basic discount- just too many one off things that didn’t sit well overall.

Worth the $5900 we paid? No. We did the Costco travel deals and now I understand the why they’re on there. It’s really not that 5/5 star hotel experience they’re trying to sell. Boutique, yes. Nice pool, sure. Walkable to everything, yup. Worth the money, no.

Even with amazing service, I just can’t justify 4 stars- need to stick with 3 overall.

Location is stunning. For the most part staff is good. Grounds are beautiful. Paid $800/ night to stay here. It’s a 4 star hotel so naturally you have certain expectations…Now to the ugly, our room had not one but THREE cockroaches in it!! One alive, two dead. Even more upsetting, the cleaning staff came regularly so on multiple occasions the bugs were missed. I have a long history working in hospitality so upon checkout I was respectful enough to approach this topic quietly. I showed them pictures and let them know to have cleaning staff check under curtains, etc. As a “courtesy” the front desk agent took off a whopping $170 resort fee and then proceeded to offer us a $30 dollar bottle of Chandon champagne on the house. Which we couldn’t take because we’re catching a flight. I’m very surprised that for $800 / night and cockroaches that was the bandaid they chose to slap over this disaster. Hence why I’m writing this room. As a business owner whose clients frequent high end resorts & restaurants I will not be back.
