I went in this morning around 6:14am to get my mom something nice for her birthday and I noticed that something was written on the card cover and asked my cashier that checked me out, I believe her name was Rosemarie but I’m not too sure but she was wearing a Jean skirt that I am sure of, she was EXTREMELY rude to me when I asked if I could get a new one replying “Yeah!” With an attitude. And when I asked if I could leave my stuff with her while I went to get a new card cover she rudely told me to put it on another lane. When I came back, I didn’t want to take the card cover that was written so I asked her if she wanted to take it and she replied with an attitude “ugh No!” Made me feel very unwelcomed. I have never experienced this in all the years I have shopped in Savemart and it makes me not want to shop here again due to this disrespect and I was the only customer in the store on top of that. I just wanted to start my day great for my self and my mom but she spoiled it for me. Thanks Marie!

So today I went shopping in my local Savemart here in Atwater, and when I was checking out, Maria the cashier,went ABOVE AND BEYOND to HELP ME..She had the courtesy, knowledge, and compassion to assist me, even if my transaction took a little bit more time..She was AMAZING and PATIENT as well..PLEASE ACKNOWLEDGE Maria Savemart, because excellent customer service is hard to come by.. Without excellent customer service, there's NO BUSINESS, with no business, no jobs..please acknowledge her, because she's deserving of recognition for her OUTSTANDING work.. THANK YOU KINDLY Maria, I hope I get you next time too...

I'm adding to my review - because Google don't let you do more than one. It's about the same checker Maria..she was absolutely amazing... Savemart I really really hope you acknowledge her. As today's times in life are extremely hard, and when you go shopping and have an EXCELLENT above and beyond service, you MUST acknowledge the employee...she's what makes your business thrive ..Thank you again Maria, for an outstanding job....your wonderful 🙏

I love the 5 for 25 dollars the only reason I come with all these high prices I'm always looking for deals.Great for single parents

The most overrated/ overpriced grocery store in California. I’m surprised there are two left in the area when there use to be several more. Do yourself a favor and drive to super target or Walmart. Least I know why the employees are rude there but don’t know why here.

Today I went to the savemart in Atwater and did my usual shopping with one of my children. When we were in the checkout waiting the customer in front of me was eyeing the dogfood we were buying, it was a name brand and cost about 50 dollars. The man muttered something but I couldn't hear him. He then says you're feeding your dog raw hide. I didn't respond. He then turns to what I assume is his wife and asks her what brand of dog food they buy(I didn't ask, I guess he assumed I was dying to know). She responds with some dog food name and says they buy it at Costco for 30 dollars. I don't want to be rude in front of my child and look at the cashier but rather then come to my defense as the man starts lecturing me about me "killing my dog 5 years earlier by what I'm feeding him, the cashier says to the man, "I try to tell people". What?!? Why am I being lectured by another customer while simply grocery shopping? and as much as I would have liked the cashier to help defuse the situation or tell them to not tell me how to spend my money instead I get a cashier who encourages that behavior by agreeing with them and making me feel like a horrible pet owner in front of one of my kids? What is this world coming to?

I always love going to this store. They have good prices and the produce is fresher than other stores, the only take away is the cashier, Rosa (with the gray hair) is always super rude. She took the time to greet the lady in front of me and even talked about her recent vacation to Hawaii but once It was my turn she didn't greet me didn't say a word but to ask if I needed bags. This isn't the first time she's rude to me & my family from now on I will go to ANY other cashier or do self check out.

I've been shopping at Savemart Atwater since it use to be where the 99 cent store is. Lately I've been coming and getting nothing but poor dis respect ful service. First from an older man. Today was an older lady cashier RUDE! Very sad poor service here. I would expect from elsewhere but here. They are ruining it for me. I had a 4 star rating before now no more! I'm complaining to corporate. I wish your manager in charge would deal with them being impolite to customers!!! Today I go around 11:30am and a lot of the aisles were crowded and packed with employees blocking the aisles with carts, I could barely get thru to shop and I only weigh 145 so it shouldn't have been difficult but they blocked half the aisles I couldn't even shop around.

Customers deserve better!
Those who work here choose to,
so have them respect customers.

Don't block aisles. It's unprofessional, looks bad 😞

I would give five stars, but the cashier was so rude, which was unfortunate. She seemed very friendly and kind to the customer in front of me, but I believe the customer was also an employee. She didn't even say hi to me or even look at me. What upset me most was how she treated my mom and how she basically threw a bag of groceries at my sister. Shame on her.

I'm guessing her shift was over and she was frustrated to have to finish ringing us up. I apologize for also taking a call while she was ringing up my things. I know that is also frustrating for a cashier, having been one myself. But I meant no harm by answering a quick call. I was still nice and thanked her for everything, hoping she would change her attitude. She didn't. I wish I could have gotten her name or spoken to a manager. She was older and had straight white/pale hair. I love shopping here for the good deals, but I really do need to start using the self check-out only. It is rare when I get a truly friendly cashier here. I wish people were kinder 🙁
