We are so grateful to Mariah for her patient, thoughtful, and positive work with our pup! We first met Mariah through the course she taught at the East Bay SPCA, and we were eager to continue working with her as our dog got older. She developed tailored strategies in response to our areas of concern and we have been so happy with the progress our dog has made. Thank you Mariah!

Mariah has been so helpful in helping us transform our dog’s behavior! We have a two year old German Shepherd/Husky mix that was so stubborn, excitable, and reactive before we started training. Mariah was able to meet with us to talk about setting goals for our pup and what we hoped to get out of our training sessions. After training with Mariah, our dog now frequently offers calm behaviors, is more relaxed when seeing her favorite people, and listens to traditional instructions (sit, wait, leave it, stay, etc.) much quicker than before. Most importantly, we now know how to read our dog’s cues and behaviors more easily so we can anticipate her needs. It really has been such a night and day transition and we are so thankful to Mariah and Positive Outcomes Pet Training!

Mariah is a wonderful, kind, empathetic trainer that immediately seemed to work magic with our anxious dog, helping him come out of his shell. She gave us concrete tools that allowed us to take charge of the training and give our pup the structure he needs. We started seeing results in his behavior almost immediately. We will take what we learned with Mariah with us for years to come. Thank you, Mariah!

I met Mariah through one of the training classes at ESPCA & was so impressed with her teaching skills and how she met each individual student/owner where they were at despite having only an hour to meet on a weekly basis.

When I noticed my dog, Toast, was struggling with leash reactivity and non-stop play with other dogs, I reached out to her for guidance on how we could remedy the behavior and better diagnose situations. Mariah jumped into action to outline a plan of how Toast could build the right skills to feel confident and even traveled for numerous sessions to watch how Toast interacted with my sister's dog. Whenever she works with Toast, she delivers a prompt report on what went well, what skills we should focus on, sample materials and any other suggestions she might have for us. While we are still working to get Toast to where we want him to be, he has improved so much. I feel confident we can get there knowing that we have Mariah's guidance no matter what issues we might encounter.

We cannot recommend working with Mariah enough - we have referred her to friends & family, and she has even cared for Toast during an emergency. She is a trusted member of our team and anyone would be lucky to work with her!!

Mariah is simply amazing!

She understands pets at a deep level, and knows how to set them up for success so that they learn new skills quickly.

Additionally, she teaches you the scientific principles behind the training techniques so that you become a more confident pet parent. As just one example, when my pup was scared to walk into the vet's office, I thought about what Mariah would do, and helped my little dude overcome his fear and walk into the office himself (rather than having to drag him in). Because I was able to keep things positive using what I'd learned from Mariah, he never developed a negative association with the vet and now he walks confidently in there like he owns the place!

Honestly, I wish that every dog could get training with Mariah! There is literally no problem that she won't be able to solve!

I reached out to Mariah because I was struggling with training my puppy. I was having emotional breakdowns because I was so frustrated with why my training on things like loose-leash-walking was not working for my dog. Mariah showed me exactly what things I wasn't quite getting right, and trained me on how to do them correctly. She worked with me on my reaction time, my luring and treat-dispensing techniques, and reading his body language. I haven't had a single emotional breakdown about training since working with Mariah. My dog and I have a better relationship, and he's a much better walker now. He's also less reactive and I am able to manage situations better and with a lot more confidence than before. Also, my dog LOVES her. She's super knowledgeable, non-judgmental, and very good with animals (obviously!). Also, she was very happy to meet me at my level of COVID-cautiousness (aka wearing masks and conducting most sessions outdoors)

She is Karen Pryor Academy Certified, which is not easy to do - and means that she's one of the best trainers you can find. As such, the techniques she uses (and teaches) are all force-free and positive-reinforcement.

If you're looking for a dog trainer, I can't recommend Mariah enough.

It has been a pleasure working with Positive Outcomes Pet Training. Mariah helped us understand our puppy's reactivity, and she gave us the tools to improve our communication with him and build his confidence. Gomez, our puppy, was experiencing trigger stacking, which was affecting our ability to take him anywhere. We had four training sessions with Mariah, and within those four training sessions we learned how to read Gomez's body language even better, how to recondition his reactions to stimuli, and how to provide Gomez with coping mechanisms whenever he would begin to feel overwhelmed. Mariah was great with Gomez and with us. She was patient, understanding, personable, and effective. Gomez is much happier puppy thanks to her. And Gomez's happiness is contagious. Thank you so much, Mariah!
