Dog Training With Miri

We can’t recommend Miri enough! Our 5-month rescued dog was incredibly shy and scared of other dogs, often snapping out of fear. Thanks to the trainer’s patience, expertise, and training methods, our pup has completely transformed. She’s now friendly with other dogs, loves playing, and even enjoys going to the park. Seeing her confidence grow has been amazing. If you’re looking for someone who truly understands dogs and can make a real difference, Miri is the one to call!

I cannot recommend Miri enough for your dog training needs. We adopted a 6 month old puppy who needed a lot of work when it came to fear (anything on wheels) and leash walking. I can say with confidence our dog Pluto is doing exceptionally well - even through those tough "teenager years" you see with dogs. Miri is kind, patient, and honestly a lot of fun to work with. She's fantastic - if you are looking for a trainer in the East Bay, she is it.

Miri loves dogs and it really shows! We found Miri through an internet search - we were looking for a positive-reinforcement-only trainer, and most importantly someone we would trust to leave our fur baby first stay away from home without us while we traveled. Miri is wonderful and generous with her time. We had an initial phone call with her where she told us about her training philosophy and learned what our goals are; we also met her in person at a park to see before committing to a training program. Our 1-year-old puppy gets very excited by birds and squirrels and forgets her loose-leash walking manners, and she jumps on people - getting to sit with Miri in the busy outdoor park was great, and we got to see the environment where Miri would be doing training sessions. Our pup did a 3-week board-and-train with Miri and had an absolute blast. She became best buds with Miri's dog Shadow, and Miri sent cute photos and videos throughout the stay. Here is an example of how Miri went above and beyond with the loving care that we could have even imagined: Our dog is trained to sleep in her kennel at night, and we wanted to preserve this habit. Miri slept on the couch for the first few nights (!) because our puppy wasn't used to the new environment, cried at night. Our puppy's loose leashing walking also improved greatly, and we have been working to keep up this good habit. Thank you Miri!!

I can't say enough good things about Miri she is absolutely wonderful. I adopted a rescue puppy mill dog between the age of 3.5-5 years old. He was not potty trained, did not know how to walk on a leash and had limited socialization. I had him for two weeks beforeeavibg on an extended trip. After a little more than 2 weeks of board and train while I was on my extended trip I have a dog that can walk on the leash, is basically potty trained, sleeps through the night in his crate for at least 8 hours, knows sit and is more confident than when I left him. Miri helped him settle into his new world and exposed him to many different environments to help him get comfortable. I could have not done this without her support and assistance. And she is a lovely person in addition to being a great dog trainer!

We highly recommend Miri. My husband and I adopted our dog from a shelter over five months ago. Our dog didn’t like being touched by people, so at first, we were worried about whether she would be able to receive training. Also, when we walked, I was pulled hard on the leash, so it was physically difficult for me. Miri was very understanding of the situation and took her time to carefully solve each behavioral challenge one by one. Miri used holistic positive reinforcement method to ensure that our dog felt safe and had fun training. As a result, our dog looked forward to seeing Miri every time, and enjoyed training as if it were play. Above all, the leash no longer gets pulled while walking! Through Miri's training, we not only learned techniques and manners, but we also became more communicative with our dogs than before. Best of all, our dog and we have both gained confidence. We truly appreciate Miri's passion for training and respect for dogs.

Miri is a wonderful trainer who clearly loves dogs — and our dog loved working with her! She not only helped our rescue dog Zuni do much better on leash but also taught us how to work with Zuni going forward so that she can continue learning. We love her positive approach to training!

I highly recommend Miri! When I was searching for a dog trainer, I came across Miri’s website and decided to give her a call. I had so many questions, and she was gracious enough with her time to answer all of them. She even gave me suggestions and tips on how to help me with some of my concerns. Right off the bat, you could tell she cares deeply for dogs and wants to help owners with specific goals. That initial consultation I had with Miri made me feel confident that she was the right fit for both my dog and myself. I have 3 small children and very little time to train, so I opted for the 21 day board and train! Sunny is a 2 year old mini goldendoodle who immediately felt very comfortable w Miri. Miri would send me videos and pictures and even phone calls to update me on her progress throughout the 3 weeks. First and foremost, I needed Miri to help me house break Sunny as she was still using the potty on potty pads inside the house! I wanted Sunny to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test too! When the 3 weeks were over, I met with Miri who taught me everything she taught Sunny for an easy transition. Not only did Sunny start using the bathroom only outside, Sunny passed the CGC test (which Miri was present for- supporting us with her positivity) with flying colors! As a bonus, Miri’s amazing training also helped Sunny easily pass the AKC Community Canine test too! My ultimate goal is for Sunny to be a therapy dog, which she is well on her way- all thanks to Miri’s training skills and confidence she has given not only Sunny, but myself too! Thank you Miri!
