I went in person to schedule the appointment with my rescue so that they could get a look at her meet her and get a general idea of everything that was going on with her. I told them her backstory, all of my concerns, and explained that if they felt like it was something that they couldn't do that was totally okay. They had me scheduled an appointment & told me not to worry. The day of the appointment I drop her off and I can go over her backstory, all of my concerns, all the details about her, and of course what I wanted them to try and do. I said multiple times if she's just not having it and you just don't feel comfortable attempting it after a couple tries please just give me a call because I totally understand. She's a rescue she has baggage I don't know when the last time she was groomed even was prior to me taking over. They called me 2 hours later and I went to pick her up and almost started crying when I saw her. I am horrible in situations like that my brain just goes too fast and so I just want to get out of the situation as quickly as possible so I can calm down and assess everything which is what I did. When we got in the car I looked over her completely and was shocked. The only thing they cut on her was her face which was so uneven. She had bald spots she had a rash from them using the shaver on her and long spots and places like it was so uneven and awful and they obviously cut too close because it gave her razor rash. And that was it. Oh wait no they cut around her butt too.
They didn't cut her stomach, her legs, her feet, her paw pads, her tail. they didn't trim up the rest of her like we agreed on just to make sure it was even. they didn't even give her a bath even though I brought her special shampoo in for them to use. and they didn't cut her nails.
But they did charge me full price. And I even tipped over 50% because I figured she was going to be a difficult dog to groom and I just wanted to thank them for trying but now I wish I hadn't.
I called them on the way home and asked "what happened? Would she just not let you cut anywhere else? Would she just not let you finish cutting your face? like what happened you didn't do any of the things we discussed" and the ladies response was "well you told us not to cut the rest of her hair because it's winter and it's cold but I mean I guess you can bring her back in and we can look at her."
Okay. we did mention I didn't want the rest of her cut but that I did want to trim it so that it was even. but you didn't even attempt that.
and what about the rest of her that we agreed on? And no I can't bring her back in. I had to take time off work to pick her up and why would I want you to look at her? I lost all faith in your ability.
I would have been wholeheartedly fine if you would have called me 30 minutes after I dropped her off and said we tried she wasn't having it, it's okay to pick her up.
I still would have paid you for your time and tipped just as a thank you for even trying.
But you didn't try, it doesn't seem. and I even asked how she was during and you said oh she was fine! Okay then literally what happened. And when I called and left a voicemail later that day just expressing how upset I was because I was just finding more and more stuff that you didn't do that you said you would or messed up, and you just didn't call me back. but you did of course charge my card.
And now my dog, who has been on a schedule and hasn't had an accident for MONTHS is jumpy, and having accidents, and freaking out when I pick her up, and refusing to go outside.
Thanks again!
