I took my cat to Yucaipa Animal Hospital because he was throwing up not eating and looked really tired. Never having a cat that sick and not knowing what was wrong with him was very stressful, so relying on a pet hospital to guide me walk me through the process of making the appointment, preparing for the day of the appointment and what to expect during and after was very important to me. The receptionist I spoke to was helpful but very rush rush on the phone. When I got to the Animal Hospital I had mentioned to them that my cat was throwing up and had no other symptoms so they assumed he was contagious and they asked me wait in my car until it was time to be seen by the doctor. I arrived 20 minutes early and I understand that they don't want to possibly contaminate any other cat or dog in the building but the wait time in my car was very extreme because it was super hot outside and I waited for about an hour and a half until they finally called me inside the building to see the doctor. Doctor asked me a lot of questions to try to figure out what was wrong with my cat, if my cat was exposed to anything or anyone that was sick... etc. I said to doctor my cat is an inside cat, no one comes in and out of my house, and he was fine the day before the symptoms started. I also told the doctor that I think he ate something that was poisonous because I have a big company that sprayed the outside of the house weekly and I noticed bugs have been coming inside the house lately. Dr suggested that we do a complete diagnostic exam and also start him on antibiotics with lots of medications to help him with his symptoms. Blood work, X-rays, check kidneys, liver, urine.... etc. My cat was severely dehydrated and needed hydration. Dr. suggested to me that I take him to a 24-hour facility cuz they do not monitor pets overnight at Yucaipa Animal Hospital. I suggested to Dr. "Can you Bolus my cat with IV fluids like we do with humans?" the doctor's eyes lit up and he smiled and he said yes! yes! we can do that. ( I was an ex nurse so I was familiar with hydrating humans😁) Dr. said come back in 3 hours to get results of all the tests findings. I return 3 hours later, we went over all results, all tests showed my cat was completely normal. Dr complimented on how healthy my cat was, but obviously something was ailing him. Doctor diagnosed him with autoimmune infection. I kept stressing to the doctor that I think my cat ate a poisonous bug, we need to check him or treat him for possible poisoning. Dr. gave me a bunch of medications to take home and told me that my cat was going to be fine.
Four days later my cat's symptoms were slowly improving but he was not able to eat and lost a lot of weight. On the 5th day my cat started throwing up blood and lost all movement to his lower legs. My beautiful cat kept looking at me as his body slowly stop moving, that same day in the evening my cat passed away...😭 I described a lot of the symptoms to some friends of mine that are cat owners and one of my friends said it sounds like your cat was poisoned, because she had a cat that died of poisoning and all the symptoms that I was describing sounded familiar. I was really disappointed that the Yucaipa Animal Hospital never called me to do a follow-up to see how my cat was doing.
The day before my cat passed away I called Yucaipa Animal Hospital and let them know that my cat was severely sick and took a turn for the worse. The receptionist that I spoke to was really cold and careless. She never even asked me how my cat was doing. She pretty much said if i wanted to see the doctor I needed to make an appointment because there's no guarantee they'll be an opening. I said no! (I wasn't too happy with the diagnosis and the service so im just going to make my cat comfortable and just let him stay home with his family. I never got a follow-up call a couple of days after visiting Yucaipa Animal Hospital office.
I never got a call even after the passing of my beautiful cat.

The Techs and Dr. were amazing. I didn't feel like I was being rushed, they took the time to explain anything I didn't understand to me. My dog Tommy loved them, he was very calm and happy after his nail trim and shots. I would definitely recommend Yucaipa Animal Hospital to anyone who loves their pets.

Reception and techs are great with the animals. They remember us and our pets, they seem to really care and go the extra mile for the benefit of the animal. The entire team seems better with the new set of vets. We are very happy with the care our fur babies get.

Helpful and caring staff. Took my highly reactive rescue Dane in for treatment. Staff and doctor understood his issues around other people and pets and accommodated all of my needs. Very grateful for the kindness and professionalism that was displayed from the initial phone call asking for emergent help. We will establish our difficult but beloved dog here.

This hospital is lacking customer service skills!
Pam , the receptionist made a handicap person come all the way inside to check in when there was no need to sign or do anything inside. We had called from outside and she demanded us to come inside for no reason. Completely ridiculous. Also one of our reptiles has because of this hospital, I just found the other day that my neighbor directly next to me his pet had perished because of this hospital as well. This is why the vets do not stay for And must have problems with Management .
Me and the neighbor might just do a class action lawsuit. Because there is other people on other websites, Facebook, etc., explaining that their animals have been hurt by this hospital as well.
One time I got my dog groomed here, they cut the dog with the shaver. And then they told me that I needed to pay for a veterinary visit and medication.
Because they cut my dog.
How does this make any sense at all?

I had an absolutely horrible experience with this veterinary clinic and would not recommend them to anyone who values their pet’s health or their own time.

At my first appointment, I waited 45 minutes before anyone even bothered to inform me that the doctor was running late. When I finally saw the vet, I was charged $200 for a basic eye exam for my dog—something that felt wildly overpriced given the lack of care and communication.

My second visit was an urgent matter. My dog was congested and struggling to breathe, so I rushed him in. After sitting in my car for 20 minutes waiting to be called, I called the clinic to check how much longer it would be. The receptionist had the audacity to correct me that I had only been waiting 15 minutes—as if quibbling over five minutes was appropriate when my dog was having trouble breathing. Her tone was unbelievably rude, completely dismissive of the fact that I was terrified my dog might be dying.

The staff as a whole acted like they couldn’t care less. This clinic has zero empathy or professionalism, and their lack of urgency in addressing my dog’s condition was absolutely unacceptable.

Do not take your pet here unless you’re okay with rude staff, outrageous prices, and complete disregard for you and your animal’s well-being. I wouldn’t bring roadkill to this vet.
