I found out about Yosemite Shepherds through a coworker, his family owned a black Sable male and I fell in love! I was scrolling through YS Instagram and saw Honor. She was 14 weeks and already starting obedience training. We contacted Mary and met at the park..my daughter (5) and I immediately knew she was our family dog! She is so gentle with children and teens, perfect for our home! Crate and leash trained, she made the transition into large breed smooth for us. She is such a smart, confident pup, obedience training was needed more for me than her.
Now to her looks..She is a full black gorgeous Shepherd! Large square head, like her dad and at 100 pounds she is very strong. I had a few new owner questions and Mary was very quick and gracious to answer or offer suggestions! I cannot wait for a bigger backyard to get a brother for her 🖤🖤🖤.

I had an exceptional experience with Mary and Micah at Yosemite Shepherds! Their dedication to breeding healthy, well-socialized puppies is evident in every interaction. From the moment I contacted them, they were incredibly responsive and knowledgeable, providing detailed information about the breed and the puppy we were interested in. Their passion for German Shepherds shines through, and they genuinely care about the well-being of their dogs. It’s clear they put a lot of effort into ensuring their dogs are happy and well-adjusted. We couldn’t be happier with our boy, Adonis (who is now renamed Crue!). This is my fourth experience purchasing a pure bread puppy and this was by far, head and shoulders above the rest. The professionalism, the communication, and best of all the dog! We had a special delivery today, of Bella our female 4 month old gsd, and wow. She came to my family crate trained, leash trained, house trained. And best of all her temperament with my small kids. She has not jumped at all not once not even if my kids or I are holding treats above her. Truly amazing, my kids have been all smiles all day, with Bella following them with a big smile of her own. She responds to commands and learns everything so fast. I’m so thankful I across Yosemite Shepards.

*update* Bella is now 8 months old. Great temperament, obedience is great always get compliments on her manners and looks! Amazing dog!

My experience with Yosemite Shepherds was excellent – from a business perspective they are responsive and professional.

With GSDs the risk of health and/or temperament problems is a real concern. Yosemite Shepherds focus on pedigree is obvious the moment you interact with these puppies. These are serious working line dogs with great temperament.

While my puppy is a total love bug, he is also so confident at 15 weeks he’s ready to throw down and protect me if he meets a person or dog he does not like. The switch from love bug to confident protector is amazing, wow.

These dogs are real thoroughbreds and may not be great for first-time dog owners or for people who are not at home full-time.

Quality is expensive and Yosemite Shepherds dogs are of very high quality.

First off, if you knew me you would know that I rarely take the time to write a review but I felt it necessary in the case of Yosemite Shepherds.
We recently had to put down our beloved Rex who was our second German Shepherd and were in search of our new family member. Living in the Bay Area, I wanted to find a breeder in California that we could actually go see and interact with the pups and breeding adults. I didn't want the large puppy producing breeder with the big website, etc... I wanted top bloodlines with solid temperaments but from a breeder that was putting in more individual attention to the dogs. I wanted a breeder that I could establish a relationship with well beyond the initial purchase of the dog. After hours and days of research I found Yosemite Shepherds. I was impressed with their breeding adults, pups and the reviews I read. I sent a note and received a quick reply from Mary. It was a Sunday morning and we ended up driving from the Bay Area to their home to see the pups later that afternoon and found our dream boy Herc (short for Hercules - son of Zeus and Oxi). Mary and Micah are such great people and were so accommodating as we ended up seeing multiple pups and adults over a couple of hours. It was clear that their dogs are well breed with sound temperament, and absolutely gorgeous. In our case, I was weary of getting a 6mth old vs an 8wk puppy but after seeing and interacting with Herc and talking with Mary and Micah we were convinced Herc was the one for us. We took him home the following weekend and have had him for just over a week. He is already adjusting well to us and clearly was properly raised. I am blown away with this guy and I cannot believe how easy he has adapted to brand new people, our cat and overall environment. From the three hour car ride to sleeping soundly in his crate all night long to behaving so well in our home. I feel so fortunate to have found Yosemite Shepherds, Mary and Micah. So responsive and willing to give their time and attention. Very rare in today's world. If you have any hesitation, call them and go visit them. Don't waste your time with other options. You will not leave without falling in love with their pups.

We couldn't be happier with Yosemite Shepherds! We drove up to their gorgeous location near Yosemite, from Santa Cruz. Our little Trakr was waiting for us when we got there. My daughter and I were smitten at first sight. We are truly lucky to have met these wonderful German Shepherd friends and their beautiful dogs. We will be keeping in touch as little Trakr grows up and highly recommend them to one and all. Thanks Again!

I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with Yosemite Shepherds. Just absolutely amazing! After our GSD Sammy passed we were heartbroken, the house was too quiet. My husband and I knew we could give a pup an incredible and adventurous life, and couldn’t picture our own lives without a dog. So I filled out the contact form on their site and Mary reached out shortly after that! Communication was incredible from the time I first spoke with her all the way to puppy pick up! I received frequent updates with pictures of our beautiful girl. So thank you Yosemite Shepherds, we are extremely excited for this new chapter with our Emma lady 💚

We were originally planning on getting a shepherd from our original breeder of whom we got our boy from, which didn't work out due to unforeseen issues with their litter. Upon much research we came across Yosemite Shepherds. Mary was very quick to respond, incredibly sweet, informative. Our first phone call was almost an hour long! We expressed our intentions and wanted to make sure she understood that we understand what it takes to own a shepherd. Fast forward, she had a perfect female whom she & her husband were planning on keeping. She was the "pick of the litter". Mary gave us a call & asked if we were interested as she felt this pup would be perfect for people like us. We brought her home at the end of October 2021. At 7 months old, this girl is thee best, very advanced for her age, great with the kids (12, 13, and 4 years old) and good with our 3 cats. We absolutely are in love with her and can't thank Yosemite Shepherds enough! They truly are great people to work with and we still keep in touch. Highly recommend! If we plan on getting another, we would definitely get a shepherd from Yosemite Shepherds 110%!
