I asked if they would help share a post of my dog I'm trying to find a home because she isn't thriving in my environment and because I don't keep her on heartworm preventative they won't. She is spayed, current on shots, groomed frequently, I use flea and tick prevention and she is tested annually for heartworm and always negative. I also mentioned she can live with me until a potential person might be interested but simply for not using the preventative they won't share a post. I used to be a rescue person but now between WILD (regardless of how many helpful things they have done) and Friends of Sangamon County (lying, with proof about a dog) I'm not very sure I'd want to support them again. I've donated and being a professional pet groomer groomed a few dogs to help in abuse and neglect cases and this is where it gets you. If I hadn't donated my time for grooming, the food, and the adoption fees I've covered for other rescues maybe I could have paid the $250 fee they asked for to help rehome. However why would I need to when I mentioned she would live with me unless a good home was found. All because I asked them to share a post. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Whoever runs it isn't really a people person. That is a nice way of putting it. Noticing other negative reviews as well and clearly based on the responses of the owner/staff/whomever, they don't really care about building relationships with people
MY REPLY TO WILDS REPLY- Being nice and polite has nothing to do with whether a person is a volunteer or paid staff. There is NO reason to be rude to people. When you talk to people maybe try not to demean them or talk to them like they are scum. I am not the only person who has noticed this from your volunteers/board. Clearly you can see that by reading the other reviews here and on FB. Instead of making excuses and blaming the other person, why not just be nice. Its not hard! I believe its just one person that this problem is coming from and I don't know her name. And I am NOT someone who surrendered an animal. Its telling that you think that to be polite to someone means making an accommodation for them (your words not mine). Oh and I have volunteered with rescues before and I was never rude or impolite to anyone and neither was anyone else int he business. Maybe your in the wrong line of work

They were very quick and fast acting when I reached out. They lined up a foster home the same night. Unfortunately, due to financial reasons I had to find a place for my dog to go. I was feeling ok with my choice until I met them in person. The exchanged was rushed, we were not given a chance to say good bye. The lady repeated multiple times how our dog was in such terrible condition (matted coat), and criticized his cage. As if having to give up our family pet was not hard enough, she made me feel even worse. I was trying to do the responsible thing. Shaming someone who was trying to do the right thing is not right. And he was not in HORRIFIC Condition. Like I told you I am in a financial hardship and am no longer able to afford his maintenance. That's why he had not been to a groomer in 1 month!!! He was fed, and loved! You are a horrible person for lying just to get attention from donors. Here is him the day before you took him.

We recently had to surrender our boy, Jersey. Wild was amazing and has helped us so much with this process. This was a really hard decision for us as it was a money issue, not a dog issue. WILD is amazing as well as their fosters.

Dealing with these people changed my mind about moving. Keep that in mind, I think that’s very important. I was going to relocate and needed a place to take my two small dogs. I messaged WILD on Facebook asking if they could help me with my dogs. We set an appointment for the next day. SOMETHING CAME UP! I message them very nicely and let them know I’ll have to reschedule my appointment for a later date and the lady went off on me. I can understand doing this kind of work can be stressful but at the bottom line be and stay professional. The entire incident was rude, unnecessary and very unprofessional! That’s not how you deal with the public. The lady was so rude that I change my mind about moving because I didn’t want my dogs to be with that kind of person/ company. I’ll post pictures if google allowed me this happened a few days ago as of 08/27/2024

This woman has absolutely no business running a shelter. Not only is she unprofessional but also legitimately unhinged. Blaming owners for their actions instead of making the animal the priority, and then breaking down into hysterical tears because of her personal medical issues affecting how she feels about certain situations, threatening owners with legal action in regards to both their animals and their children… I’ll give you one piece of advice- don’t give this woman any business, she can’t separate her feelings with what needs to be done professionally, and do yourself a favor and go to the APL in Springfield. You’ll be saving yourself a lot of time, energy, and heartbreak.

WILD is an amazing dog rescue that has blessed us with a beautiful dog “Wilma” who was rescued from a Southern IL pound the very day she was scheduled to be euthanized. WILD saved this perfect chi mix, paid for extensive surgeries and vet care to get her ready to be adopted. She brought us 7 years of love, joy, fun and companionship. Cash was another beautiful fur baby who was rescued by WILD and joined our family until a more approximate permanent home was found.
We love WILD and have highly recommended the rescue to our friend's and acquaintance’s.
