This place was perfect for a cheap sleep and shower while driving through. It was not new (cinder block walls, leaky faucet) and could have used another vacuuming, but the linens were clean, there was hot water and air conditioning.||||There wasn't an alarm clock or blow drier, but there was a fridge and soap. Traffic noise was present. The staff was helpful when we checked in really late. ||||Did I mention it was really cheap? I'd stay here again.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T STAY HERE!!! Seriously I don't think they have cleaned the rooms since 1967 it's embarrassing how gross this place was the beds had cigarette burns in them the showers literally had sheet rock falling off with sheet rock rolls of tape on the toilet it stunk horrible looks more like somewhere if you're looking to rent by the hour seriously keep driving or sleep in your car! We stopped at midnight couldn't drive anymore and this was our experience. Plus ants everywhere in the room.

I think the other review was made by the owners esp as they own the Sands Restaurant. The positive: It was quieter as it was further away from the railroad tracks and main Highways than other motels/hotels in the area. The shower water pressure was decent I the sheets on the bed had been changed. The rest of the reality though was that the room we stayed in hadn't been vacumed; 2 dead squashed insects on the the wall, and what appeared to be a large yellow glob on the ceiling; the faucet in the tub never completely shut off and if you are going to have tile in the bathroom then you ought to have the grout clean and not with pink mold on it. I could go on but you get the picture. But the price is great! I Grew up in a motel and understand that everything dosen't have to be up to date but it does need to be clean.

Did not book a room for this motel for the trip ,just decided to take a chance! Wrong thing to do! Driving into Dalhart,TX., there are many signs advertising this motel and the fact it had been remodeled....maybe in the 60's! ||||When approaching I noticed that the parking lot was in bad shape with holes and trash. On a positive note there were several school buses in the parking lot and a Jaguar car parked by the office. The vehicles were just a cover.....the school buses were filled with migrant workers and I am pretty sure that the Jaguar belonged to the owner!|||| All the workers were outside drinking and smoking and I was there with my husband and 9 year old grandaughter. She looked out the window and there were about 4 men standing at the window....we did not look out the window again.|||| The room was BAD! Smelled bad,looked bad,did not seem clean. I considered leaving but it was so late and we were so road weary I would rather stay and sleep a bit than travel through the middle of nowhere looking for another room! We left very early the next day and I have decided that cheap does not mean rustic and it was no bargain....the place should be condemed and torn down by the city!

We drove up with no prior research. The sign said "senior rates". Price reflected that it was a very basic hotel. Room was better than expected. It was clean. There was a refrigerator and microwave, but no clock, blow drier, coffee pot or even morning coffee in the office. Check the room, if you wish. We'd stay again.

This motel was the most horrible place I've ever stayed in. We opened the door and immediately was knocked out by the cigarette smoke that lingered in the room. Smelt like someone still smoking in there. There were ashes on the floor and crumbs with dead bugs like they never vacuumed or even cleaned the place. The towels were dirty and the bed sheets were all stained. The most grossest place I've ever stayed in my life. The clerk came out with no shoes. Not professional in the least bit. I will never stay here again.

Awful..first the rooms where disgusting and I ended up being attacked by bed bugs and had to get medical attention. Secondly, the staff waited to the late night to break out their circular saws and hammers and work on the room above us. It seemed like they were hopped up on some kind of drugs (but that was just my opinion and how it looked). Lastly, we had issues with our door key at 10 am the next morning and when we went to the office, it was closed, so we called the number on the door and the manager was rude and said he would be there when he could. It was by far the worst place I’ve ever had to stay in and the only reason we didn’t turn right back around when we seen the room conditions but our car was broke down across the street at the gas station. Don’t make the mistake of staying there, it’s not worth $1/nightly for that crappie room. I don’t even want to give it a 1 star.

Stop in to town just to get some rest for a few hours. The room we had was full of bes bugs. Didn't realize that until we woke up im the morning. Also the shower was dirty and the room had many holes in the wall that look like they repatched them self and did a horrible job. Don't stop there keep going unless you like disgusting rooms.
