So happy to have found this place. We moved to LA from Brooklyn and were looking for a daycare that is hands-on and experienced especially with a variety of breeds - I have a very rambunctious mini bull terrier. The people at West LA pay such close attention to your pup and you can tell they really love being around them. Great place - would absolutely recommend!!

I have a rescue dog who is still learning to socialize and trust humans. After an initial moment of tension, he relaxes and starts to trust his caretaker. This has been the case with numerous sitters, veterinarians, and trainers. He has never bitten anyone; he only barks and feels threatened in the initial moments of socialization. I took him to West LA for a temperament test, and the staff had absolutely no empathy for a fearful dog. They didn’t even take five minutes to try to build a connection with him and called me to pick him up after just three minutes, informing me that he had failed the temperament test. My conclusion: the staff is cold, impatient, and unqualified to handle more fearful dogs. I wouldn’t recommend this place if your dog is sensitive or requires any type of adaptation to the environment.

Amazing!! We love West LA. Our Frenchie goes each week for a day and comes back happy and exhausted. We recently had him stay with West LA over Christmas and he was so loved and taken care of - they even sent a photo on Christmas to ask about something, which we truly appreciated.

Great facility with kind staff members. Our dog loves going here - you’d think he’s going to Disneyland every time.

In full transparency, our dog has gotten sick a couple times after an extended stay, but we know it’s not unique to this facility - just the risk you run when boarding a dog. We put our dog on probiotics, and it seemed to help a lot. Either way, we’ll be continuing to use West LA Dogs for all our daycare and boarding needs!

I bring my small dog in for all day daycare, and he gets so thrilled as soon as we walk through the front door. He loves the staff and they treat him like their own. I like that they send me update photos throughout the day. He comes home happy every time.

Our pup loved West LA dogs until they moved the small dogs to the new building. He seemed to be enjoying his experience less and less until one day we arrived and he started shaking and ran to hide under a chair. He was clearly in distress and didn’t want to go inside. The receptionist seemed annoyed by my dog’s obvious anxiety. I asked if there were any notes in his file about a bad experience, and she couldn’t be bothered to even look him up. There should be cameras to monitor whatever’s going on back there. I don’t know what happened, but he’s never going back there again!

This was my first time boarding my dog so I was beyond annoying asking for pics every day and they were so kind to oblige. My boy had the best time here and they went above & beyond putting cream on a small scab he had got before coming in there.
