Brian is truly the dog whisperer, and the person whisperer!!! My husband and I brought our 4 month old bernedoodle for “training.” We got trained and our pup is better because we are better for him.

Let me just start by saying, best “dog training” ever! I put dog training in quotes because Brian’s approach directly teaches and empowers YOU as a dog owner and dog protector. I’ve been to countless dog trainers in my past (for a different dog of mine) and Brian’s methods thus far has shown to be the most successful. My rescue GSD had no form of structure what so ever and with his help, we have now implemented a new structure and bond with our girl, Athena. Both within our household and community. He’s been so great that we also have implemented the methods with our other dog and have also seen changes with her. Said dog who has been to many other trainers. If you are dealing with any and all dog issues or just getting a new puppy to add to the family, Brian is your guy. Way of the dog has been AMAZING for our family. Thank you so much!

I didn't realize how much I didn't understand about doge behavior before my session with Brian at Way of the Dog.

We have an old pup that we got at 8 weeks old. He was exposed to many situations from the start, so he is the sweetest and gentlest around all animals, people, and situations. A couple of years ago we got an 8 month old dog rescued from a hoarding situation. He is a sweet, sweet boy, but you could tell he was fearful in some situations. I won't go in to details, but an in incident in our home led me to Way of the Dog. I didn't want a trainer. Sit, stay, rollover weren't commands I was immediately interested in, rather I needed to understand my new dog. I needed a behaviorist - someone to help me and my family understand why dogs do certain things or act certain ways in various situations. My search for the best behaviorist in the South Bay led me to Way of the Dog and Brian Lee.
I am so glad my journey led my family to Way of the Dog. Brian didn't work directly with my dog, but rather worked directly with me and family. He forced us to acknowledge how our actions (or inactions =/) and behaviors directly affect our pups. He guided me in dissecting and breaking down emotional barriers I had created that prevented me from being the best leader for my dog. Brian helped me gain the role as protector of my pup, so he can learn to relax and trust me in all situations, and that has made such a difference. With the help of Brian, I have not only become more confident in raising my dog, but more confident in myself. Brian gave me the tough love I so desperately needed to become the leader my dogs deserve.
Thank you, Brian, for forcing me to "grow through what I go through" and transforming my life! My family and I are forever thankful!

Because of Brian and his "Way of the Dog" program, our lives (dog and humans) are much more relaxed, happier, and enjoyable. This comprehensive and thoughtful process is catered to each specific case for the optimal results. We are able to create the best possible life and situations for our dog, which make her less anxious, friendlier, and confident. Thank you WOTD!

My experience with Way of the Dog far exceeded my expectations. There are so many trainers with so many different approaches out there and I was somewhat lost in that abyss. We decided to try Way of the Dog because of the philosophy. Because of Brian's approach and strategy, my wife and I were able to correct our own behavior first which in turn helped us to communicate our needs effectively to our dogs. The Way is to help the human understand why the dog is the way the dog is. My most profound realization from the training was how much pressure and expectation we as humans unfairly put on our dogs, who are trying so hard to function in our world, but are dogs at the end of the day. What Brian helped us realize, is that we need to understand their world and experience in order to begin to create some harmony...sort of meet them in the middle.

After the second session (first was introduction) there were noticeable differences. After only a handful of sessions, my dogs have become so much more balanced. It's very obvious that they are calmer, happier, and attentive. It's been truly life changing for all of us. Brian does not hold back, and will tell you what you have been doing wrong. His approach is very straight forward, which we appreciated from Day 1.

Our two American Bulls pulled hard on their leashes, jumped on visitors, were aggressive towards other dogs when on the leash, and were anxious, and needy. All of these behaviors have been corrected in only five sessions, but as Brian says, the work is never done. We learned a lot about the psychology of the dog and ourselves. We are stopped multiple times a week when walking our dogs and complimented on their demeanor...true story.

As long as you are prepared to handle constructive criticism and implement the strategy, you will be successful. The operation is totally professional: scheduling, communication, reminders, etc. Thanks Way of the Dog!

I highly recommend Brian for any of your training needs! Our dog would bark incessantly out of fear anywhere we went. At 3 years old, I was concerned we had waited too long to get him trained. After working with Brian and doing our homework, our dog made VAST improvements in just 4-6 months. We can take him anywhere and he is well behaved with no barking. We are grateful to Brian for helping change our lives.

Brian is awesome! We brought him 2 wild German Shepherd puppies and he taught us how to make our lives a lot easier by training us how to train them. It has made a huge difference. I've been a dog person my whole life and didn't realize how little I knew about dogs until going through Brian's course. I highly recommend going to him--a happy dog is a well trained dog and a happy dog owner is a well trained dog owner, that's what you will be after a few sessions!

Dog training that actually works (and without any treats)! I highly recommend Brian, particularly for anyone with a dog that's not responding to clicker training or tricks for treats. We adopted a 70 pound husky mix named Bear from a rescue last year, and he is a wonderful dog BUT we started having leash issues once he got comfortable with us. If I turned around on a walk to go home or if he saw a squirrel, Bear would sit and refuse to move. No amount of coaxing, treats, excitement, playing, etc., would get him to budge. I couldn't exactly carry him home either. It got to the point where I had to call my husband to come pick us up to get Bear home. Naturally, Bear started to refuse to get in the car too.

After one session with Brian, the problems were fixed. In fact, Brian's tactics were so effective that I probably could have ended our sessions after the first visit; however, we enjoyed learning from him so much that we completed all five sessions with no regrets. And, I did learn a lot of additional things and felt that we were able to solidify and fine tune everything during those sessions. The only downside of completing Way of the Dog training is that we don't get to meet with Brian anymore.

I cannot emphasize enough how effective and logical Brian's techniques are. He is like a dog psychologist. I had used clicker training and treats with our previous dog, but I realized that those tactics were not going to work with Bear. Brian was truly our last hope. Before you give up your dog for behavioral issues, give Way of the Dog a try. You won't regret it, and your dog will love you for it.
