Joe is just fabulous with dogs and can gain their trust and respect immediately. Just look at the pic to see how relaxed she is with him. He had my dog following his unique commands in about 10 minutes. He is personal caring and very entertaining and I will have him back soon mostly to refresh me as I see now I was the main obstacle to solving my dogs bad habits. Thank you, Joe!

Today is the 2nd time I’ve had Joe come and help me with my dog obedience training. He is very thorough and handles each problem during the 3 hr. session. He does it with gentleness and love. It was impressive to see the subtle changes work so positively. It was wonderful having him come to my home rather than boarding my dog for weeks at a time with the possible use of punishment tools (like shock collars). I highly recommend both Joe and his methods for behavior modification !!

Joe has some really good ideas about how to handle dogs. As a speech therapist, I noticed some similarities that make us both successful. I particularly like that he uses intrinsic motivation rather than extrinsic meaning as he says about our dog "Will work for love" rather than give treats that make the dog fat. Our dog wants approval and is learning how to get it and we are learning how to help him act appropriately.

My 2 year old Cavalier and I needed a lot of help with walking together. My dog pulls and pulls and I didn’t know how to fix it. Joe explained, then he demonstrated and then he watched me. He explained everything in such detail. We also learned how to teach our dog not to run to the door when guests arrive. It’s clear that Joe LOVES the dogs and what he does. I’m finally on my way to figuring out a few things that were holding me back from enjoying my daily walks! I strongly recommend Way of the Dog

Joe was great with our dog Morty!!! Right off the bat Joe came in with great energy. He explained his lessons very well and in a way that just made sense. I was very surprised and happy with the steps forward our doggy made in just the first visit with Joe. Joe taught and explained everything to my family and myself in a way that I know will help us get our fur baby to have better manners! Thank you so much Joe for opening our eyes to how our dog thinks and behaves, and how we need to respond to correct his behavior!

Joe was so pleasant and patient with Pepper and me. He taught both of us. Our only problem was Pepper wasn’t very “peppy” and wanted to sit the whole time once she learned to “sit!” Joe maintains great contact and is prompt to the scheduled appointment. He comes to you and makes himself very available to accommodate the client’s schedule. I look forward to using the tools Joe provided me with and building a wonderful and trusting relationship with Pepper.

Joe was timely and friendly. His technique is easy to understand and follow. Our 4 year old is hyper and extremely anxious around visitors and other dogs (so we got a puppy thinking it would help her ) Joe was patient, calm, and in control with her the whole time. Not too long after he came in, she was listening, wagging her tail and comfortable around him. And, she even came running later this evening when we brought out the leash, which isn't the normal behavior for our anxious dog. We have a 4 month old puppy as well, she took to his training as well. Now it's up to us to follow through with what we were taught. The attached photo shows our anxious 4 year old laying next to our puppy we've had for about a month. This has never happened before. She wouldn't even come close to the puppy. This is less than 8 hours after Joe left our house. Amazing!
