**Waterville Animal Resort - A Disappointing Experience**

I recently boarded my dog at Waterville Animal Resort for 10 days, and I couldn't be more dissatisfied with the care she received. Upon bringing her home, I discovered two chewed hot spots on her front feet that were raw, very swollen and red/bloody which were alarming and clearly indicated a lack of proper supervision and care during her stay.

My husband picked her up and staff made zero acknowledgement of her sores or any issues while at the facility. When I first saw them after returning home I attempted to address this issue with the business, and was unable to reach anyone. After finally receiving a call back, the staff feigned ignorance, claiming that they were unaware of her chewing or licking her feet to such a degree. They called me a second time claiming these hot spots were merely calluses from her laying down. This was incredibly frustrating, especially since we ended up having to take her to the vet. The vet confirmed the issue of lick wound sores and prescribed antibiotic cream and a cone to prevent her from licking the affected areas.

It’s evident that my dog was not properly engaged or monitored during her time at Waterville. The hot spots were not acknowledged or treated while she was there, raising serious concerns about the level of care provided, especially considering they are attached to the Waterville veterinary clinic and could have treated her there or called us to let us know about this issue. Given this experience, I will not be returning and would not recommend this facility to other pet owners.

We’ve been using the Waterville Animal Resort for long and short term stays for a few years now and have always found them to be friendly, caring and totally dedicated to the job of caring for the animals under their care. Our Adeline always comes home looking great and we find great comfort in knowing she is in a safe, clean and caring environment whilst we are away.

We used them to board our cat and dog for 4 days. I was very nervous about leaving them because I've never boarded them before. I was surprised by the hours the resort is open. I wish the animals had more oversight but I learned quickly that most, if not all, boarding places have the same hours.

I called the next day to check on my animals and they said they were doing just fine. I asked if my dog had played outside the night before and the woman on the phone told me I could find pictures on their Facebook page. When I looked on the page, I did not see any photos of my dog. Since we just dropped her off the night before I figured the last pictures were probably from that morning. I looked again over the next few days and didn't see any pictures of my dog. It would have been nice to see some of both the dog and cat so I could be assured that they are doing well.

I picked up my animals first thing this morning. They both obviously missed me but they were clean and healthy. I retrieved their belongings and they were very clean as well. It made me feel much better knowing that they were cared for. They were both in good emotional health too. I was concerned that my dog would be full of anxiety because of the barking but apparently she did just fine.

The only improvement that I would like to see is a log of my animals' day. I want to know how much they ate, when they played, when my cat was given his medication, and how they did overall each day. Mostly I want to be assured that my dog was let out to play and my cat received his medicine twice a day.

The staff here works very hard and you can tell that it is a big job. Billy was very friendly and he really likes animals. He is always smiling and very helpful. I felt much better knowing that he would be caring for our pets. I was told that my dog liked to follow the staff around which made me laugh because she does the exact same thing at home. They obviously treated her well or she would not be doing that.

Overall we are happy with our experience here. It's nice to know that their vet's office is on the premises in case anything were to happen. We will use this resort again if needed. Thank you for taking good care of our pets!

We already bring our two dogs to the Waterville Vet, so using the resort for our puppy as a doggy daycare made sense. The staff is awesome and very accommodating.

My husband and I had both been working from home since March, and now that we're spending time onsite at our respective jobs, we wanted to ease our puppy into being away from us. This place has been great! She gets socialization and play time, and staff shares the pics on FB, so I know she's having fun.

So far we've only used the daycare, but now that we've used this service, I'd feel totally comfortable having both our older dog, and our puppy board here for an overnight or longer.

I have used these guys for boarding a few times, and they recently provided veterinary care for one of my dogs as well. I have to say the operation is amazing. They communicate extremely well, and are empathetic and caring. 10/10 would recommend. I look forward to boarding with them again in the future!

It’s always awful to leave your pet. You worry, feel guilty, Miss your animal and can’t wait to return. Leaving my dog at the Waterville Animal Resort, I know I can count on excellent care. The place is immaculate. The kennels are a great size. Your dog can go outside and romp at playtime. The staff also posts pictures of your dog so you can, “read their body language!” While no dog likes to be left-you can count on the Waterville resort to do a great job. Thanks again.

If I could give no stars I would. I brought my maltipoo there because of the high recommendations. We also payed extra to have him bathed just prior to pick up. When we arrived his fur was matted and dirty. His dog bed was saturated in urine and his extra dog food was stuck together as if it was wet then put back in the bag. When we got him home we noticed the top of his paws were beat red and his hair was falling out. We took him to the vet who told us it was urine burns from him laying in his own urine for long periods of time! NEVER AGAIN will our dogs go here. Go through the Rover app to find someone who will actually care for your dog like they should.

Best Animal Hospital in Oneida County. They have staff 24 hours available and the Staff are compassionate and loving and the Doctors are top notch. Their new Surgical wing is state of the art. Why go anywhere else.
