My partner rescued a super sweet dog, but she definitely needed a little training and help with anxiety. Alexa is incredible and certified dog trainer - friendly, kind, patient, and so knowledgeable. She gave us great tips and recommendations to work on with the dog. She was also able to work on a little training with the dog during boarding! Completely trust Alexa to focus on a dog’s best interests, and would recommend her to family and friends!

Alexa was an absolute godsend in training my distractible 1.5 year-old golden in off-leash recall. I had worked on this independently for months but wasn’t successful among other dogs or competing distractions at the park. I was interested in using an e-collar to get through to him when my voice wasn’t enough to ensure his safety. Alexa heard my motivations and took time to learn the RIGHT way to train an e-collar (non-aversive, balanced training). The fact that she was willing to do this research was so incredible and shows how committed she is to her clients. Over the course of 5-6 weeks, Buddy’s recall has improved to near 100% and we’re already seeing signs of being able to wean away from e-collar use.

Alexa is punctual, easy to work with, a good communicator, and takes time to understand each dog + dog owner’s needs. We’re so grateful for her and so happy to take steps toward off-leash freedom!

When my partner and I got our pandemic puppy- we had so many questions and concerns about starting early with a foundation of obedience and boundaries. Alexa was essential for us in building this foundation! She has taught not only our puppy, but also us parents how to deliver basic obedience commands, toilet training skills, crate training, name recall, and leash walking. She also helped us with issues specific to our dog, including helping her overcome anxiety riding in cars, coming inside the house when first called, and creating boundaries during play where she no longer jumps on people! We have been so grateful for her services and continue to reach out for her and use her business when new issues arrive! She is an amazing resource for both new and seasoned puppy parents!

Alexa is what my husband and I refer to as our 11 month old mini golden doodle's "parent trainer" rather than dog trainer. Alexa has been working with us and our doodle, Mabel since November of 2022 and it was the best decision we made since bringing our girl home. We tried group training classes and it was just not effective or worth the cost. We live in a condo building in the West Loop that has 2 elevators, lots of people and lots of dogs. Alexa comes TO OUR HOME ready to work on whatever our current needs are. We have worked on so many skills such as crate training/separation anxiety, sock stealing (LOL doodle parents IYKYK), elevator manners, fun tricks like paw!, curbing her urge to "counter surf" just to name a few. We even had a session dedicated to helping our 12 y/o niece gain her confidence with our pup who was going to her family's home for a weekend while we were out of town. It was a success and my niece earned her B in math and will be getting a dog this summer! We are looking forward to our next session with Alexa and meeting her dogs to work on Mabel not getting distracted! Alexa is an absolute dog whisperer! (And dog parent whisperer!)

5 stars - Highly recommend Alexa as a dog trainer! She has been incredible in helping us address our dog Lemon's behavioral issues as well as teaching basic commands. Alexa has a deep understanding of dog behavior and developed a customized training plan that was tailored to our lifestyle. She's patient, kind, and always available to answer our questions. She makes it easier to understand and communicate with Lemon and we are so grateful for that!!

Alexa (and team) are fantastic. Our dog is a 45 lbs pit/shepherd mix that loves his pack, is unsure of strangers, has strong protecting and hunting instincts, and more.
Alexa came to us and met us in specific areas of the city for training sessions. She has given us clear, actionable, and empathetic training advice that strengthens our bond and ability to communication with our dog. He is more comfortable and confident now and, thus, better behaved.
We have also boarded Jackson with him and I will not hesitate to do so again. He received excellent care and was a very happy boy while we were away.
10 out of 10 for Walk The Dog Training.

Passionate about training and setting achievable goals for you and your dog. Alexa will even stay after the booked time to end on a high note and chat about next steps and what to practice between sessions. This is well balanced training that makes me a more confident dog owner.
