First experience with Wag hotels. Boarded my two-year old CavaPoo one night. When I picked her up, I was a bit concerned because they handed me two small bags of food that didn’t belong to us. Also, I brought her favorite snuggly pug toy and asked for it to be in the suite with her so that she’d have something familiar but unfortunately the toy was still at the front desk when I picked her up. If you’re paying $70 for an overnight stay in a small pet suite I would expect a bit more than the experience I had. With that said, she was physically fine and in good spirits when I picked her up.

My dog Lucy Pearl had the best first time daycare experience with Wag Hotel West Loop. She is a rescue and reactive to other dogs so they took extra care to make sure she was safe and comfortable. Thanks you Wag Hotel!!

Cannot recommend enough! Our dog had a major surgery to remove his spleen and three weeks after his surgery we had to go out of town for a week. Wag opened up a spot in their specialized care to watch him closely for us! They kept his cone on him, watched him 24/7, brought him into a private play area for him to play, and sent us two photos of him every day. They made sure he was healing nicely and that he stayed clean. Months later we still bring him here for boarding and he loves it!! We can watch him all day on the play cameras and he has the best time! Thank you Wag!!

UPDATE: Chantal, the GM at West Loop, reached out to us and took full responsibility, talked us through what happened, and made amends. We really appreciate her effort and care and have no reservations about returning to Wag.
We had a terrible experience at Wag West Loop over the week of New Years, below is the exact feedback we left them in the post-stay private review to which they have not responded in 2 weeks:
We did not have a good experience boarding Nelly with you this past week. Multiple things went wrong that left us dissatisfied with the standard of care at your location:
1. After complaining about the lack of pictures we received during our dog's last stay, we were promised, via email and phone, that would be improved. Yet, during this stay, in the first 4 days we received only 2 pictures. The pictures we received lacked the effort and care we appreciate from your Lincoln Park location.
2. Our dog was mistakenly placed in all-day play both Mon and Tues, even though we had booked just Daystay as it can be overwhelming for her to spend that much time in play. We then had to call from our vacation to correct your error. On top of that, we had to ask to not be charged for Monday all-day play since your team did not offer.
3. On that call, we also asked if our dog's nails had been trimmed Monday as we had booked and confirmed at check-in. We were informed that you had no record of the nail trim, and instead had her scheduled for a teeth brushing. We were then told that everything was resolved, only to pick her up 5 days later and find her nails had not been trimmed despite us being charged for it.
4. Also upon pick up, we found 3 dental chews and most of her treats we had brought had gone unused. For the dental chews, at dropoff we had confirmed that she needed to have 1 with dinner each night and had packed the correct number, which means they were skipped for almost half her nights at Wag. For the treats, we have never had treats returned to us before, so to have nearly all of what we brought go unused was disappointing and not a good sign for the care our dog was receiving.
5. We had also purchased 2 nights of the Bedtime Bliss package, but received no proof that our dog actually received the package, and considering the nail trim debacle and the other mistakes, we find it hard to trust that she did.
We were away on vacation across the country for a full week and it's really frustrating, disheartening, and worrying that the company we paid $83/night to take care of our dog couldn't do such simple things right. It makes us highly unlikely to ever book at West Loop again if we can avoid it, and we certainly would not recommend it to our friends with dogs.

Two of my dogs were staying in west loop location over the Christmas holidays. This was our first boarding experience, and while the dogs are alive and now happily home there is a couple of things we would like to note.
- Both dogs were covered in poop upon return to us.
- We don’t know if the dogs experienced food problem or anything but both of them have continued diarrhea upon return home.
- Dogs stayed there for 4 days, but we never received any daily reports on them, so we did not know if anything happened.
- They had one of the more expensive rooms, but after checking in we checked the camera and the room did not had any dog beds/blankets/water. We did call the hotel and someone did bring the beds later that day to them.
- When we were picking them up, we were not asked any dog name or any kind of id or anything - so theoretically you can just come in and pick up any of the dogs from the hotel without being asked any identification.
Other than that the dogs are alive and happy to be reunited with us. Only writing this review (this is my first one ever) as for being probably the most expensive boarding place in Chicago, we expected this experience to go a little bit better.

I’m not from Chicago so I just used their Dog Day Care for 12 hours so I could take tours and see the City. My Dog was tired at the end of the day. The worker kept calling him a “she” when referring to him and at the end I didn’t get any recap of his day. The worker wasn’t sure if he ate or not, when I got to my hotel he was starving. I didn’t get any updates from his day play and I thought it was weird 🤷🏼♀️ a bit careless from them. But I would book again because at the end of the day he was safe and I could enjoy myself

Everyone at WAG is so friendly and wonderful to my pup. Having an older dog can be hard for boarding and balancing some play time. WAG has the best options for all types of doggies even the old timers. My 12 year old Vizsla loves going to WAG even if just for play and stay. Thanks for taking good care of my pup! Peace of mind.

I am incredibly disappointed with the experience I had at this doggy daycare. Despite having a paid reservation, they put my dog in a room by himself for two hours without notifying me. It wasn’t until I noticed he wasn’t on the webcam that I called, only to find out they were at capacity due to walk-ins. If I hadn’t followed up, they wouldn’t have even bothered to tell me.
This is completely unacceptable—especially since I booked in advance to ensure my dog would have a spot in the play area. The customer service was terrible, extremely unfriendly, with no apology or accountability for their lack of communication and organization.
It’s clear they prioritize walk-ins over customers with reservations, which is unprofessional and unfair. I trusted them to care for my dog, and they failed on every level.
I cannot recommend this place to anyone who values transparency, good customer service, or proper care for their pets. Save yourself the frustration and find a daycare that actually respects you and your dog.
