Wow , I can’t say enough good things about this spot. My 3.5yo GSD had never been to a groomer before and is CHATTY. Multiple groomers had rejected me bc of her breed or her lack of professional grooming experience. Not vip! They were willing to give her a shot and she did beautifully! I was so impressed with the professionalism and skill. She is so clean and looks beautiful 🤩 they’re popular for a reason. Book them, you won’t regret it.

This is our regular spot, every 7-8 weeks. Always professional, on time, and communicative. We have a dog with hair (not fur), so grooming is a big deal on a regular basis, and these folks deliver. Adam is wonderful. Recommended to book way in advance as availability goes quickly. That’s a pretty clear sign of a quality service.

VIP Grooming is the best! From the moment my puppy Oliver started going there, they’ve been fantastic. The staff is super friendly and did an amazing job making Oliver comfortable with the clippers from day one. The new ownership is both friendly and professional, and I always leave with a handsome, well-groomed pup. Highly recommend for all dog owners! 🐾

VIP grooming has always done a great job with our small dog. We had a few bad experiences with other groomers before landing with VIP and we've stayed with them for years. Prices are reasonable by SF standards, and they're easy to communicate with and work with. They book out quite a ways in advance so you need to plan ahead a bit.

Turn and burn, rushed communication leading to not doing the right services with my dog, handing him to a male groomer after I had emailed ahead to make sure a female would be working with my dog as he's a shelter dog and fearful of men. I don't think she communicated that he has a leg injury to the groomer either. If you have a sensitive dog or want a groomer who is kind and gentle with your dog and works to develop a relationship, don't come here. I definitely don't want my sensitive pup in that environment.

Huxley, my golden retriever, has been to VIP three or four times now and we haven't had a bad experience until this last visit. It started with a scheduling snafu (which if you come here, you know it is difficult enough to get an appointment within a reasonable amount of time) in which they wanted us to reschedule but they were ultimately able to fit us in after a good amount of confusion. Thankfully, I live nearby so I was able to plan last minute. Upon arrival, I shared that I wanted him to have his "summer cut" meaning a good trim as it was apparent his hair was pretty long. I could tell further clarification was needed so I provided that pointing out spots that were matted and prone to such that I really wanted his hair to be cut so I thought we left with a solid understanding. When I picked him up, I didn't think much hair had been cut but it's difficult to tell with the products they use and the brushing. I then proceeded to go out of town for work and upon my return a week later, realized his hair had not been cut at all really and was already pretty much back to the same length. As someone who hates to complain, I finally called hoping they would consider giving him another cut, even willing to compromise with a discounted rate and was met with a strong no and a general unwillingness to see beyond their 48 hour policy which I had no idea about until said call. I was told I should have been more clear upon drop-off even though he has had at least three other perfectly acceptable hair cuts. Honestly, just an incredibly frustrating experience for a $200 hair cut which is twice as much as I pay for my own at the same frequency and cannot imagine being turned away for a correction if I were unhappy with the result.

VIP Grooming has earned and deserves its reputation as one of SF’s best groomers. I am lucky to live within walking distance of this location. When I take my fur baby, Charlotte, for either a nail trim or bath, they always treat her like a queen (even though she hates being groomed) and give her the best service.

They are also very ethical. The first time I booked a nail trim, Denise asked why I paid extra for a “difficult dog” and refunded me the charge. I am so excited she is one of the new owners!
