This place is great for all appointments and excellent for last-minute appointments
The staff here are compassionate and knowledgeable. They listen to your concerns, are thorough, (providing you with detailed information), professional and kind.

The only downside to this physical location is the parking, which is not good for larger vehicles and fills up fast. If you can't get a spot, you have to drive around the block and come back.
Don't let that discourage you, though. I highly recommend this place. They take excellent care of your pets.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. THEY WILL KILL YOUR DOG and NOT CARE AT ALL. I had a perfectly healthy puppy before taking her to this vet. I trusted them. She had a reaction to the vaccine and died within 24 hours. Their emergency line did not work. My pup suffered. I called them that Monday and They did not care at all. Upon researching and speaking with other vets, breeders, and vet techs, I found out that the vaccine was not necessary. It’s just a way to get more money. The thing that hurts the most is when I called and told them that she died from the vaccine, there was absolutely not remorse. No concern. No questions asked. NOTHING. I understand that things can happen, but the fact they they did not even care enough to ask questions or pretend to show concern really spoke volumes. I asked for a copy of my pup’s vaccine records and they only sent me a form with my information and my dog’s name. No vaccine records. This makes me very suspicious. They were so money hungry that they risked my dog’s life. I moved to the area a year ago. I have 4 dogs. I have never been treated this way or had a dog die from a vaccine. I will no longer use rural vets. I will drive back up to Macon or Gordon where I usually take my pets. I paid $3000 for my pup for them to kill her within 24 hours for vaccinating her and they DO NOT CARE. Again, DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. They are extremely overpriced. They quoted me $160 for vaccines when Four Rivers charges my brother $50. My old vet in Macon charges $40. I wish I would have know about Four Rivers in advance or just made the drive to Macon. My pup would still be alive.

I absolutely love Dr. Sheppard! She has such an amazing love for animals and she treats them just like they are her own. The staff is so sweet also! Great place to take your fur babies!!

Our dog Moose needed some dental work for a fractured tooth done that our local vet could not do and we were recommended to Dr. May at the Vidalia Veterinary Clinic. They were able to get an appointment scheduled for him very quickly and were so patient and kind to answer all my questions leading up to the procedure. We drove over 2 hours to get to this clinic and it was well worth it! Every single staff member we interacted with were friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. They all made me feel so good about leaving my pup in their care. Dr. May was so nice and explained everything to us so thoroughly with photos, charts, etc so that we could make the best decision for our dog. The procedure went extremely well and it was clear there was a lot of care and attention given to the issue. We really appreciate all the hard work the staff and Dr. May did for our dog, we are very grateful and would recommend this to anyone in the surrounding areas needing dental care (or any kind of care) for their pets!

be picky about what you do and don’t want, they’re good at their job but everything that’s offered isn’t needed keep that in mind, they are very pricy, valdosta did what they were trying to expand for 2 weeks in 1 day. They did x-rays, ultrasound, sedation, a reversal for the sedation so we could go home early and medicine for cheaper than just x-rays at vidalia. Every time I went it was killing me, then valdosta told me my dog was fine nothing was wrong, vidalia basically told me she could die at any moment. She was also attacked by another dog here while under their care, scratched her nose up and chipped a lower K9 tooth, shes fine, could’ve been worst, but it did happen. If you feel something’s not right switch vets til u find the right one!

The entire staff took very good care of my dog when she was sick. She received IV fluids and had to stay for the day. I was worried about her because she is not a fan of the Vets office. The staff sent me updates and pictures through out the day which I appreciated so much!. All the staff was so nice 😊
