The overall service we received was good. The vet and tech seemed very caring. The older front desk lady was opposite of that and not very polite but I get sometimes people have off days. My issue is with the pricing... quoted over $1000 for standard vaccines, testing, and nueter for our male kitten. Thats just unaffordable and most vets do all of that for half the price.

We left this vet a year ago after our cat was concussed by shaking his head during an ear cleaning. (If you take your cat here, be sure that they put a cushion down on the examination table.) The vet, Tallin La Rue, didn't even acknowledge my cat hitting his head on the left, twice. She was not gentle or compassionate; it felt more like she resented his appointment.

For the first month, my wife and I were genuinely concerned he might not make it. He couldn't eat or drink and lost most of his body weight. He took most of this year to recover, which has also delayed dental work that he needs done. All in all, this was an unnecessary and tremendously stressful and frustrating experience.

We have been much, much happier with the vets and their care at
Bijou Animal Hospital PC. The prices at Bijou have also been much, much more affordable.

We wish we had never gone to VCA.

I was referred to this office from a friend after I had been to ER Vet and my regular vet who misdiagnosed my pup. Dr. Lisenbee is very nice and explains everything in a manner that you can understand. Doesn't talk down to you and doesn't rush, answered all my questions. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They were transparent with their fees.

We made the switch over to VCA after we had a few uncomfortable experiences with our previous vet. Our final straw was that they wanted to put our 6.5 month old puppy through heartworm treatment without being clear about the tests that had been performed (half of which came back with ambiguous/negative results). The kind young woman at the front desk listened to my frustrated spiel over the phone and got us in for an appointment the next day.

I was immediately encouraged just by the fact that they had windows from the exam rooms looking out into the lobby (literal transparency!). Dr. Lisenbee took his time, listened well, and gave us sound advice. The tech also gave me the option to hold my dog when she got a vaccine rather than taking her all the way to the back. I'd never gotten that offer before and felt so much better that I could be there for her. Our pup also has Valley Fever, and this was the first practice we've found in the area that has treated others with the same illness. We're so relieved to have found this practice!
