I don’t normally write any negative reviews but have to do this one. Ray Bishop is extremely Rude. Took my Pup for her yearly vaccination and let him know her paw was bleeding and that she’s limping. He only takes a look and didn’t offer to do any x-ray on her. She’s still limping BTW and I know she’s in pain. He then asked if I brushed my dog teeth. I said I don’t but I give her Dantal bones instead. He proceeded to ask if I have any kids I said yes then he said do you tell your kid to do that too ?!? Like who talk like this as a Vet? Very unprofessional!!!!

I gave him a benefit of the doubt and decided to come here again for the second time and he would make comments how the type of dog I have got many heath issues etc.

I definitely WILL NOT come back here again.

Just wanted to mention all the staffs are very friendly and helpful except Ray Bishop!!!

I rescued my 9 week old puppy from a shelter that referred me to this animal hospital. I made an appointment for a concern about my puppy’s runny nose and sneeze. The receptionists and assistants were very kind and helpful, but the veterinarian that helped my puppy (Ray Bishop) was extremely rude, unhelpful, and made me feel like a terrible dog owner. First, he kept talking about how horrible it was that my puppy had already been neutered (I rescued him already neutered) and speaking to me as if it were my fault. He went on to say that he “doesn’t know what we can do about it” and moved on to talk about how skinny the puppy is (with no useful recommendations about feeding). While he was prying my puppy’s mouth open, he let out a little growl and Ray Bishop completely stopped the exam and lectured me about how misbehaved my puppy already is. I understand that he should not have growled but my puppy did not know what was going on, the vet did not pet my puppy or make him feel safe, and let alone did not introduce himself to myself or my dog. He talked about my dog’s behavior a majority of the visit and gave me a number for a trainer because this was “something that needed to be fixed immediately.”Long story short, the whole visit targeted how bad my dog was and how he should not be neutered at this age(again, that is completely out of my control) and he did not address my concern for the runny nose and sneeze. When I asked, he said it will go away on its own because “I don’t just hand out antibiotics”. If you go here DO NOT go to Ray Bishop. He will make you feel like a terrible dog owner and not address the reason for your visit. He will find anything wrong and lecture you for it!

Dr Beyers and all his staff go above and beyond. We have been with them over 10 year’s. There quote is ( we treat your pets like family) is absolutely true! Our hearts are full of love and appreciation for them. We lost our GS suddenly and Dr. Beyers and his staff tried there best to care for our Natasha. Dr. even sent us a sympathy card he wrote himself with heartfelt sentiments about Natasha. They are the best and truly love and care. If you want best team go to VCA Joliet. You will not regret it.

I’ve had a great experience with the Joliet VCA Animal Hospital. The staff are always very polite and helpful, especially Cheri who always is there when I visit and goes out of her way to help me and answer questions.
I recommend VCA Joliet wholeheartedly and I’m glad the Veterinarians closer to me weren’t taking any new clients.

Please don’t go here if you care about your dog. Every time I brought in my dog for anything from stomach issues to eye issues it turned into multiple visits because they didn’t know exactly what was wrong with him. I would get told it could be so many different things and would get sent home with medication that did nothing. Most recently I brought my dog in because I found a lump on his neck. My dog has become terrified at this vet and he hid under a bench when the vet tech came to examine the lump, which should have really been done by only the doctor. She reached under the bench to touched him and my dog got extremely scared and bit her for coming into what he thought was his safe space at that moment. My dog has never shown signs of aggression before. I am not justifying the bite, but the way that we were treated from that moment on was not okay. The whole visit turned into only dealing with the bite incident instead of my dog’s lump which is why I was there in the first place. Dr Bishop kept telling me that my dogs “aggression” would only get worse from here. At this point my dog was laying down calmly almost falling asleep on the opposite side of the room from Dr.Bishop, when he tells me to hold him on a shorter leash. I was then forced to pay upfront for a follow up visit to make sure he didn’t have rabies. At this visit my dog was treated as if he was an extremely dangerous dog. Both Dr. Bishop and another vet tech, Haley, were both very rude to my sister and I as if we wanted this to have happened. When the doctor finally got around to discussing my dog’s lump, he basically said it wasn’t possible for it to be cancerous since he’s only 1 year old. He suggested having it surgically removed anyway just in case. I brought my dog in for surgery 2 weeks later and I get a call from the doctor an hour later saying that they did an X-ray and that the lump is actually just from his microchip. All of this was discovered AFTER my dog had already been put under anesthesia and had half his back shaved. I was still charged for the surgery. Days later my dog got extremely sick and I was told by the doctor that it was side effects from the anesthesia and I was given medication to help control his vomiting and diarrhea. The medication worked for a day and then he got sick again. And on top of this, he ended up getting a very bad hotspot where they shaved his leg for the IV. I decided to take my dog to a different vet and it was the best thing I could have done. They treated him for the damage that VCA caused and discovered that all of his medical issues he had been having for the past year were due to food allergies. My dog is now thriving and loves his new vet, which is fear free certified!
