The staff is amazing! My dogs are very nervous and anxious from past experiences at a different vet, but VCA knows how to make them feel comfortable, and they also make the pet parents comfortable. They explain everything that has to be done. They are very compassionate and loving with the dogs. I highly recommend VCA in Castle Rock!

With VCA we pay for a monthly 'pet health insurance' subscription. This is a great product for pet owners, as it ensures a low monthly cost and as a result we are never surprised by routine or emergent care needs. They keep great patient records and are helping us care for our cat so they have the best possible life with us! Staff are always friendly, the vets and other care givers treat our cat with love and patience. Fantastic vet option all around!

I took my husky here for the first time after finding a mass in his ear. Charles at reception was very welcoming. Dr. Kate and the veterinary assistant (I can't remember her name!) were both very nice. Dr. Kate was on time, thorough, and honest. We will be back!

Erin answered the phone to my cries and got me in immediately and had serious compassion in her voice! Andrea greeted us with love and concern escorting us directly to a private room. Within literally seconds, Dr Sanborn and Pablo came in with extreme kindness and levity. Kleenex was grabbed immediately by Pablo and Dr Lisa Sanborn made me laugh and calmed me. They do not overcharge, do not do unnecessary tests and immediately came up with a plan for my elderly terrier with unexplained pain. I am in debt to these four people as their true empathy and warm hearts gave me hope that this would not be the day I say goodbye! Go here and if I could give a 100 star review I would! God bless these amazing humans! Oh, and when I left Andrea and Erin were sweet, fun and shared stories about their amazing pups. I am in awe of this amazing crew!

We had to come in to say goodbye to our dog, They were incredibly compassionate and were able to accommodate us at the end of the day and let us stay after hours to say goodbye. We genuinely appreciate their help.

We were cat-shamed by the vet. The vet visibly winced when we told her we feed our cats Meow Mix but did not offer an alternative or suggest a better cat food or talk about why we shouldn’t feed our cats this. Shamed us for not taking in our cats for regular visits or vaccines but did not talk about what vaccines our cats should get yearly or how often we should bring them in. Please work on your bedside manner. Please work on educating pet owners in areas of shaming them without providing education. Vet talked about our overweight cat but made no attempt at education. Overpriced and terribly expensive, but a great place to take your pet if you want to hear about everything you’re doing wrong while not providing solutions.

We took our ailing, senior pet to VCA Douglas County Animal Hospital on the advice of our veterinarian who was unable to make an after hours appointment. We were assured of the choice because our vet made the referral and were not disappointed. The hospital is clean, modern, and looks like a new general hospital. The staff (we met two intake staff, two vet techs, and one veterinarian) were all excellent. Our pet had a thorough exam and we were given advice about options for treatment. The hospital staff were fully prepared to treat our pet then or draw blood for labs and see our regular vet the next day. We chose to have the lab work performed so our vet would have the result the next day (the ER has its own lab) and saw our vet the next day.

Impressive, compassionate service.
