A little over a year ago, we decided our family was ready for a dog. Having a  young special needs daughter, we wanted a breed family-oriented, playful, with lots of spirit to match our daughters. We chose a Labrador we later named Zeus (based off his dads size).
Soon there after, he quickly outgrew her and doubled her weight. His energy levels were through-the-roof, and traditional training methods weren’t working. We tried everything, but this soon became a situation that was starting to become a real problem at home. We needed professional help.
After failed attempts from other trainers (based off recommendations), we sought out someone special that actually could help. We came across Arya, at “Underdog Training”. We spoke, he insisted he could help, and we were hopeful. We sent Zeus off for 2 weeks to undergo behavioral therapy during a preplanned vacation.
During Zeus’s Boarding stay , Arya was super informative, kept in touch, and sent us many pictures/videos of things I couldn’t believe my dog could ever do. He gave him back to us a completely different dog. I used to have the craziest 80lb puppy that couldn’t even walk on leash. Now he heels, stays in place, comes when called, Lastly, he trained us on how to train Zeus, which helped with re-entry, and got us familiar with Zeus’s new commands as well as expectations which taught us a lot as well.
We highly recommend Arya, and Underdog Training, and will continue to work with him in the future. He was extremely informative, courteous, and helpful. Everything we asked, we got, and now Zeus is a loving member of our family. Thank you Arya!!! Sincerely,
The Weighill/Diaz family

Our Golden Retriever is 3 years old & had a good foundation of training prior to going to Underdog Training, however he was easily excitable and stubborn when on walks, especially with me VS his Dad (alpha). He had issues pulling, as well as being easily distracted and throwing tantrums when needing to listen. He also had no sense of recall so it started to become a safety issue. We took him to Arya for a 3 week training and it is worth it! After spending time with Arya, he has now been able to be fully off-leash, recall friendly and very obedient!

Arya sent us multiple videos of his progress during the training, as well as texts during & afterwards with helpful tips and advice on how to maintain and correct when needed. He got him very comfortable with other dogs that Arya also was training or boarding, as well as exposure to other environments such as public places, the beach, and trails. Arya is personable and easy to talk to, especially if you are new to training dogs (me) - you can tell he cares deeply and works very hard to get the results you ask for. I also appreciated that he followed up with scheduling a call after we picked him up to make sure everything is sticking & to provide insight on things that may not be. If you’re still thinking about shipping your dog off to board training, just do it with Arya at Underdog Training!

Arya is one of the best dog trainers I have worked with. I have owned several Bull Terriers over the past 2 decades and worked with several trainers throughout the process. Arya strikes a balance between positive and negative reinforcement to find that sweet part. It is as if he can read dogs on an intuitive level, understanding micro signals and body language. I have learned some of this by observing him reading dogs.

All dogs can be better dogs when trained by the right trainer. Aside from sight-hounds, Bullies are a notoriously unbiddable breed. Arya has brought one of my Bullies to off leash capable is three short weeks, with great recall and friendly demeanor. If you have ever dreamed of having that trained dog to step out with, Arya is your trainer. I cannot recommend him enough! I believe so strongly in his abilities that I am having him training my new rescue in concert with my current girl. UnderDog!

Arya trained my dog extremely well. After two weeks with him, Max knew all the essential commands: heel, sit, down, come, go and lie in your bed, etc… Arya was also very patient with me, catching and correcting my errors, ensuring that I didn’t allow Max to develop bad habits or to think that he is the boss. I learned the nuances of when to discipline him and when to let him has his way. I further became aware of a host of subtler, non-verbal modes of communication with Max. Arya is also very personable and easy to work with.

WOW! What can I say? Arya has helped us get the dog we always wanted but struggled training. Koa, our boxer, is 2 years old and she experienced several health issues as a young puppy that put her training on the back burner and when it was finally time to get back to it, we didn't really know where to start.

Arya met with us for our free consultation and helped us figure out what she needed and boarded her for a little over a week and the improvement is like night and day! She did't have any recall to the point where we would take her to the park with a long 50 foot lead so when we needed to catch her all we had to do was get a hold of the leash and reel her in. We also thought she was dog aggressive, which we found out was actually her resourcing guarding me and her food, as well as Arya as their bond grew.

Literally within three days she was a different dog. We met with Arya and Koa at the Wilcox Property here in town and she was coming when called and was able to roam free like a regularly tempered dog. Within the week, she wasn't needing her muzzle to be around other dogs and she was walking off leash with us on a heel. We also learned how to teach her new things and make her stay in one place for an extended period of time, which has since come in handy when we are outside and she is on the porch, and out and about on the town while we are at restaurants. She really is a different dog, all thanks to Arya!

Not only did Arya answer all of our questions and trained her SO thoroughly, he also taught us how to be better dog parents. We've had Koa back for almost a week now and she is continuing to grow from her training and becoming a better behaved dog everyday! My family and friends who have known Koa since she was a small puppy have told me so many times that she is SO much better mannered and overall just a better dog. She still has all of her boxer personality and is still the most loving dog ever, but being able to trust her around other dogs and trust that she will come back when we call her is honestly life changing for us. I can't wait to continue to work with Arya and I cannot thank him enough for all that he has given us!! Thank you Arya!!!

We adopted our German Shepherd at 5 yrs old and a month into his adoption we found he was reactive to dogs. We spent time with a different local trainer but didn’t have much progress and wasn’t thrilled by the lack of real life scenarios.

We went to Underdog after hearing great reviews from a friend with a reactive dog as well. Arya spent hours and miles walking with us around town in real life scenarios. He taught us how to read our dog’s nuanced facial reactions and ear changes to better predict his reactions and his comfort level around other dogs.

We’re several months out from our last session and we can successfully meet dogs that’s are on and off leash. He even has greeted, play pranced, and wagged his tail during interactions! I never thought our dog would be the type to be able to go on trails and be normal, but we are starting to really get there!

It has taken a lot of work and focus and is still a work in progress but now our walks are becoming actually leisurely. We’ve noticed a change in his interaction with us now as well, he’s more loving and affectionate than ever before. Every time we interact with dogs on and off leash I am still so grateful for the training and Arya’s dedication to make sure I fully understood what I needed to do to make our dog a success

I have done two trainings with Arya and will definitely continue in the future. He is very passionate, knowledgable and patient, which is very helpful as he is not only training your pup but training you how to train your pup as well. I really enjoy the fact that he gives tons of tips and homework for you to work on between sessions, allowing you to strengthen the trainings in between sessions. He also caters the trainings to what you want/need to work on. I highly recommend you give Underdog a chance, and im sure you will be convinced after the first session, which happens to be free so there is nothing to lose and much to gain.

After 2 highly recommended trainers couldn't help my dog, my landlord gave me an eviction notice and I thought my life was ruined. Arya not only fixed the problems with barking/chewing/scratching immediately, he has trained my dog so well I can take him EVERYWHERE I go. Unbelievable! Thank you Arya/Underdog!
