I have been thoroughly impressed with Jen's expertise, thoughtfulness, and caring for all of her dogs and their people! She is also invested in making sure there is a transfer of training techniques to the owners so that they reinforce what is being taught by her. She is the BEST and I would recommend her to anyone who is in need of help and support!

We brought our Olde English Bulldogge puppy, Hank, home from Michigan last June and wanted him to become best friends with our 8 year old dog. Unfortunately, our senior dog wasn't so fond of him and had difficulty adjusting to the new puppy's energy. Hank became overly reactive and scared of so many things which likely occurred as a result of our older dog's displays of aggression toward him. We were at a loss for how to get the two of them to get along and were not sure how to move forward.

I began google searching trainers and Jen and Top Paw stood out to us form the start. She responded immediately to our first email and reassured us that this was not a lost cause! We got Hank in to the board and train program and we have seen such a difference in his reactivity and his ability to regulate himself. Once he completed his portion of the program, we talked with Jen about working with both of the boys. She immediately took this on without hesitation and the boys are actually getting along (with some continued guidance!). She's even helping with picking them up and has gone overboard to make sure that they are getting what they need!

After taking our 2 year old miniature Aussie to Jen our lives have significantly improved. We traveled from NM to Denver to enroll Copper in the behavioral board and train. Copper was severely dog reactive which was stressful for not only him but us as well. After following Jen on tik tok for two years we decided we had nothing to lose and enrolled copper. Immediately picking Copper up from his 5 weeks with Jen and her team the change was clear! Before Jen we couldn't be within a football field of another dog without Copper reacting. It was extremely hard for us to feel like we were fulfilling coppers needs without being able to leave the house.
Fast forward to now (5 months at home) Copper is able to do laps outside of the dog park with little to no interest in other dogs. Jen was able to lay a foundation of confidence and behavioral training that we would've never thought possible. Just this last weekend copper was able to walk past 6 dogs during our walk on a slim trail with no reaction. The training he received improved not only his tolerance of dogs but coppers entire demeanor. He's a more confident dog which positively impacted everything about his day to day life.We can't thank Jen enough for giving us a quality of life with our dog and the tools we need to continue growing and building his confidence.

I have to give a huge shoutout to Jen and her incredible team! The change in my dog, Nala, has been amazing. Before coming to Jen, Nala was scared of new people and places. It was a big deal for her to let anyone, especially a guy, touch her or show her affection. But when I picked her up from Jen’s I was blown away to see how much she had bonded with one of the trainers, John. It was clear that she really trusted him and felt comfortable around him, which was a huge step forward.

There is a huge difference in Nala’s behavior. I took her to Fort Collins after picking her up and she was relaxed around people and didn’t mind when strangers were walking by or lingering nearby. Jen’s work really boosted her confidence and helped her handle new situations much better.

Jen and her team also went above and beyond in ways I didn’t expect. Nala needed to see the vet a few times, and Jen’s team handled all the last-minute trips and calls with such professionalism and care.

For sure would love to bring Nala back for more training in the future. The dedication and time Jen and her team put into their work made a huge difference for Nala, and I’m so grateful for everything they’ve done!

I got my Rottweiler puppy, Cersei when she was 12 weeks old from what I now know to be, a “backyard” breeder. She’s my first guard breed and at the time I definitely underestimated, and didn’t fully understand the consequences of poor breeding OR what good breeding looked like. Cersei and her parents are AKC certified, and from a champion blood line so I thought, “all good!”. Well, at only 12 weeks old, Cersei was already afraid of everything! She would physically recoil anytime someone came near her and find a corner to hide in. She didn’t even know how to play with a ball, she was so afraid of it. She had yeast all on her tummy and she was completely filthy. It looked like she was kept outside and never given a bath. When she turned 6 months, her fear turned into reactivity which was manageable at first but then she started getting strong, and her bark started to get scary. I was so afraid for her because I knew if she continued on this way, it would progress to aggression and she would do something that would put her in a situation that I can’t protect her from. At this point, I had become a helicopter mom and had never let her out of my sight! I was SO nervous about leaving her and worried that sending her away from her home and her human would just make her anxiety worse but I am SO glad I didn’t let my own fears win. Jennifer and her team have obviously taken such good care of Cersei. She lights up when they’re around and she absolutely ADORES them! During our last session, we went to a dog park and Cersei got to show off her new coping skills and I cannot be more thankful. The scary Rottweiler that used to lunge and growl and bark at leaves blowing in the wind is now completely chill and laying in the grass as reactive dogs are barking behind her and people are going by on scooters! Jennifer and John showed me some really great training tools and how to respond confidently and how to anticipate when Cersei might be becoming over-stimulated. I feel SO much better about taking her home and continuing to help her become her natural baddass self without the fear weighing her down. Considering her breed and the horrible stereotype attached as well as the actual power of these dogs, I don’t think it’s too dramatic to say, the time they spent on her might have helped to save her life. This time away from her as well as the drive back and forth from Houston were well worth it and I definitely plan to do it again.

Jennifer is such a pro. We brought our Malinois-mix pup into Top Paw K9 when she was about 3 months to start getting her socialized to other dogs. Through a combination of the regular day care package and some additional training days, she mastered place, heel, recall and so many other good puppy manners so quickly. Jennifer and her team always take the time to record videos of how they work on new skills, and point out specific ways I can improve my handling. I would trust them with my pup every time and have recommended them to so many others!

We found Jennifer online and even though she lived states away, we just had the sense that she would be able to help us work through some big issues with our puppy Miss Rhaenyra. From the time she was rescued, she was very standoffish, was uncomfortable around people and overall hated being handled. She escalated to biting with no bite inhibition and would hold on. We were told from a vet (whom we stopped going to) and others that she was just aggressive and it was only going to get worse. By the time we met Jennifer, we had already seen 3 trainers. Nothing was working. Even remote, Jennifer immediately knew that before we did anything, we needed to work on our bond. She helped us create a routine that helped make our dog more confident, more comfortable and ultimately led to a huge shift in how she managed her big feelings. We were told by so many people to just make her do what we wanted - she’s a dog. Jennifer knew better - Renny needed us to go slow, work with her and accept that there were things she needed a little help with. She’s now about 1.5 years old and she’s a dog that greets everyone, she loves to give all the kisses and love to anyone she meets and she cuddles with her humans at home - something we never thought possible. She was just scared and needed someone who understood her and that was Jennifer. Cannot recommend her enough. Hope we can make it out to CO someday soon to formally work with her! Thank you ❤️

We recently adopted a pup who was anxious, scared of everything, and having a tough time feeling confident and the puppy party 101 class helped him so much! The trainers were so kind and encouraging to us and our pup and he got some 1 on 1 training each class plus a lot of great socialization with the other pups! Highly recommend!

I adopted miss Rumba from the new beginnings program, and I cannot sing enough praises about Jen and her team at Top Paw. Training is continual, but Rumba has the most solid foundation. There isn’t a single place I can bring this gal where she is not confident and obedient. She has been home for right at a month and it has been the biggest privilege to watch her personality unfold. Any dog is more adoptable with basic training (rumba far exceeds basic training, and is an amazing off leash lady), and it is so amazing to see Jen’s heart for dogs through her new beginnings program. The adoption process was also seamless, and while Jen couldn’t be present her staff is clearly just as well put together and pleasant to interact with. I will be a client for life and will without hesitation reach out to Jen again if I ever decide to bring another dog home, and I will always recommend them to anyone else.
