Natalie was an absolute godsend for my wife and me. After adopting a young puppy with some significant behavioral challenges, we felt pretty overwhelmed and didn't know where to turn - until a friend recommended Natalie. She helped us understand so much about our dog's reactive behavior that we never would have imagined otherwise and gave extremely helpful concrete advice, such as how to introduce her to new people and how to work on counter-conditioning against triggers on walks. After every training session, Natalie sent us thorough and personalized summaries that were invaluable references as we worked through training techniques on our own. We cannot recommend Natalie highly enough! She has completely transformed our walks with Toby and Parker. Both dogs used to lunge at cars and try to chase any wild animal they were able to smell and track, making walks stressful. Natalie worked patiently and diligently with them, teaching them to walk calmly on the leash both in our neighborhood and brand new places for the dogs. Her methods are effective and gentle, and she took the time to involve every family member in the training process.

Not only did Natalie focus on the dogs, but she also provided us with invaluable insights into their behavior quirks and how to respond better. Her advice was spot-on, and we've noticed a significant improvement in their overall behavior at home as well. If I could give 6 stars, I would! Truly, I don’t know how we were able to manage before getting puppy training with The Scallywag Dog. The trainer is so knowledgeable and so obviously loves dogs, and it has been a night and day difference in terms of our ability to communicate with and understand our pup.

Natalie was an amazing trainer and person to work with when we got our brand new rescue puppy at 2 months. We did the puppy package and it was worth every penny! She's very hands on in her approach as she models and has us each take turns performing the trials as well. She gives excellent feedback in the moment as well as in PDFs with the review and breakdown of everything she covers in each session. It is literally a step by step breakdown which helps tremendously to remember after she is gone. She's also easily accessible via email and addressed, answered, and helped us with any questions and concerns we had along the way. I'd highly recommend her to anyone with a dog, especially a puppy. Our pup looked forward to her coming every time as did we! 🙂

Natalie is the absolute best! She is knowledgeable, talented, and adapts her training to the needs of you and your fur baby. We weren't sure what was happening with our 2.5 year old French Bulldog because he had started to show signs of aggression and even bit someone. Natalie came to meet us and our dog to assess if she would be the right fit for what he was dealing with... and she was! Turned out our little guy had developed severe anxiety and uncertainty in his environment as a result of COVID. He is back to his old self, loves people, loves playing with dogs, and the best part... Natalie taught us to be the owners and reclaim the role of "alpha" with love and structure. He is extremely disciplined and sees us as his "safe zone" and we have not had any significant incidents of his anxious/aggressive behavior since working with her. Natalie taught us strategies to alleviate his anxieties in different situations by: 1) identifying his triggers and 2) providing helpful strategies to prevent escalation and 3) providing tips/tricks documents to maintain the discipline and structure he was learning after every session (curated PDF documents tailored to his specific needs). We are so glad we did the 5 sessions with Natalie and will be sure to loop back with her should our little guy ever need a bit of a reset.

Natalie has been the greatest gift to me and my 1 year-old Sato, Marlo. Marlo is a very anxious dog and was beginning to show signs of aggression towards strangers through growling/lunging. Not knowing where to begin, I contacted Natalie and have been consistently blown away by her knowledge, skillset, and thoroughness as as the effectiveness of her methods. By the end of our four sessions, Marlo’s an entirely different dog, and it’s been so amazing to witness her grow more comfortable with herself and the world around her— all thanks to Natalie! 🙂
