Highly Recommended

One customer shared that their dog Beauregarde went to the ranch for ten years, which speaks volumes about the quality of the services provided. Although the ranch is no longer in operation, the current dog could sure use a place like this. Unfortunately, the pandemic economy took its toll on the business, but Dave is still running Four Paws ranch up north, and if it were closer, many would certainly be there.

Although The Lucky Dog Ranch is no longer in operation, it is still possible to find similar services in the area. If you are looking for a dog day care center, dog trainer, or kennel, it is important to do your research and find a reputable business with positive reviews. We recommend visiting the websites of local ranches and reading their customer reviews to get a better idea of the quality of their services.

Sadly, this wonderful business was a casualty of the pandemic economy. This place is sorely missed by many of us. Our dog Beauregarde went there for ten years, so that says something. Our cutrent dog could sure use this place.

Dave's still running Four Paws ranch up north and if it were closer, we'd be there.

Not to sound melodramatic, but The Lucky Dog Ranch saved our life! We adopted our rescue pup at 3 months old over 2 years ago. Dusty turned out to be the most high energy dog on the planet. Three walks a day was not making a dent in her energy level. Our neighbors told us about this magical place up in the hills call The Lucky Dog Ranch. Dusty tried it once and we were all hooked. The wonderful thing about the Ranch is that they have different play areas for different dogs depending on their size and energy level (of course she was in the highest energy group). She could finally run and play all day to her heart's content. The staff is incredible and clearly love all animals. They also offer sleepovers. We never feel guilty taking a trip because we know she is in good hands. She always cries all the way up the hill because she is so excited to go to the Ranch. When we get there, she bursts through the gate to see her friends!

MY DOG LOVES THIS PLACE!!!! I have taken my 6 month old bernedoodle here 4-5 times a week since he was a small puppy. He runs from my car with so much excitement and can't wait to get in the back to play. His excitement warms my heart so much I cant imagine not taking him here every week. Prices are really great too at $17 a session, I really can't say enough great things about Lucky Dog Ranch.

My dog loves this place! He is always excited to go and always happy when I pick him up. He used to go every week day while we worked out some separation anxiety issues with him at home. We are forever grateful that they allowed him to come in on short notice, this allowed us time to work with him on weekends so he no longer howls when weโ€™re gone and our landlord no longer threatens to kick us out! Now he goes once a week to once a month to socialize, the workers are always so nice and seem to really like having him there. This is also the only place weโ€™ll board him. Whenever he canโ€™t be home, we definitely have peace of mind that heโ€™ll be well taken care of when heโ€™s at the ranch. Opie loves you guys! Thank you for taking good care of him!

I love this daycare because my dogs love this daycare. When I drop them off (I have two), they wag their tails and pull on their leashes to get in. When I pick them up after work, Frank (my Newfie) plays dead so I can't put him in the back of the truck. While I don't love that part, I feel good knowing that they spend their day in a place that they clearly love. There are no kennels here, and it's sort of free range with the other dogs - so if you bring your dogs here, just make sure they play well with others. The people that work here are great and clearly love animals. I feel lucky that we have a kennel-free daycare so close to home that our dogs love.

I live in Fresno and watch your show faithfully. It brings tears to my eyes to see and hear about all the dogs you find homes for and the people who receive them. It's amazing to see the special work that you do to get all those dogs ready for their new homes.
Keep up the good work that you do for all the animals you save. I'm going to keep watching.
Thank you for all you do.

PS. I have two dogs and 4 cats myself, and love my animals. Your right, they are like my kids.

We have been taking our setter, Daisy, to Lucky Dog for about five years. Prior to discovering LDR, we never went anywhere overnight because Daisy, a rescued dog with a history, is pretty neurotic and could not tolerate being kenneled. For several years we were unable to find a place where she would be happy. LDR is in an almost rural area--the western side of Emerald Hills in Woodside/Redwood City. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. A variety of environments are available--grass, dirt, tanbark but no concrete that I have seen (other than the driveway). Dogs are allowed to roam the large property (within limits) and are also allowed in the house, where they can sleep if they wish. The owners and staff strike me as very dog-savvy, figure out which dogs get around well, and provide separate areas for dogs who get into conflicts. Lucky Dog boards dogs overnight as well as providing doggy day-care, for which it seems to be very popular.

Be sure to book well in advance; this place has a large following! You and you dog will need to come in for an interview prior to booking. Be sure to get all shots up to date first!
