Pleasant quiet atmosphere.
The meats were all so tender and flavorful. The veggies were perfect. I especially liked today's seasonal salad that included a pumpkin puree and a perfectly tangy sweet balsamic dressing. The breads were incredible. They ran out of the original bread, which was wonderful and gave us some dinner rolls. They looked pretty plan, but they were buttery and a little crispy on the outside. So good!!!! Perfect to sop up all the leftover sauces.
The fresh donuts with espresso and cream for dunking was a nice finish to the meal.

My husband took me here for my birthday dinner & it was everything I had hoped it would be! The bread was warm & moist. The wine was delicious and fair priced! But the food.... probably the best pot roast I've ever had in my life. The flavor was so developed & the meat was sooooo tender. I was in heaven with every bite! My husband ordered the lasagna which is not my favorite but I did give it a try and it was textbook perfect. Everything you expect lasagna to be.
We sat near the kitchen so I got to see all the other plates coming out being wiped clean and garnished perfectly. The kitchen staff were very focused and worked together in harmony. It wasn't super busy but our food came in a timely manner. After watching the efficency as well as the cohesiveness in the kitchen i really understood why! I can easily say this IS the best restaurant in Alamosa & my husband & I will certainly be returning in the near future. Thank you for an incredible meal!

We enjoyed a great Italian meal here. Mason our server was fantastic and extremely friendly! Other staff fell short of Mason’s standard. Chicken and eggplant parm were both applauded, the seafood pasta special was also enjoyed. The chicken in my chicken Marsala was slightly dry which took away from the great sauce and pasta. Overall a good restaurant, which provides a friendly environment and enjoyable Italian food.

This former church is an amazing venue, with a friendly, helpful staff serving up great Italian food. It was a great place to eat after a long afternoon at Great Sand Dunes. The side salads were delicious.

This is the Italian restaurant that Alamosa needed! Fantastico!! I ordered the Pasta's Holy Trinity which had fettuccine alfredo, lasagna, and chicken parmesan. It was all very good. The fresh bread before the meal was soft and warm with an oil that has very rich flavor. Unfortunately I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of the pasta but the blueberry cheesecake was AMAZING. I did take a picture of that beautiful creation for you. The people next to us ordered the lamb dinner, I am definitely ordering that next time I visit. You have to try this place!

Not only is the food fantastic, but the location is wonderful! It was once a church. 1 section was converted into a bar that is called the sanctuary, and the church was converted into the restaurant. Beautiful piece of history!

My husband and I searched out restaurants on google in Alamosa that were opened on Sunday evening and came across this gem! The old church building was beautiful and very quaint! Our waitress was great as all the staff were! I got the soup of the day which was vegetable beef! Best soup I’ve had! The fresh baked bread was absolutely delicious! It was fresh out of the oven served with oil and salt to dip it in! Entree was delicious too! I had the Italian Roast and my husband had the Fettuccine with Shrimp! Then Tiramisu for dessert was light and yummy! Can’t wait to take our family there! Owners were friendly and very attentive! Will definitely go back!

UPDATE....The Friar's Fork in Alamosa has blocked me on Facebook because I gave an honest review of my experience. This is probably why they maintain a 4.7 rating. They only have 12 ratings since 2022. Take that for what you will. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I get the feeling that they delete any negative reviews. But they can't on Google or Yelp.

We usually eat breakfast at home because there isn't a good breakfast place in our town, in our opinion. But we have been seeing the advertisements on Facebook for The Friar’s Fork. Benedicts are my favorite breakfast/brunch dishes because they are so sumptuous, easy and wonderfully flavorful. I was excited that The Friar's Fork was doing a Benedict breakfast. However, I was extremely disappointed.

We were greeted by a friendly young woman and seated. She was also our waitress. She was absolutely wonderful. We were the only people in the restaurant the whole time we were there. The restaurant is very clean and lovely. The two owners were walking around as were 4 other employees.

We ordered our meal. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and my husband ordered the green chile Benedict along with mimosas for each of us and a Diet Pepsi for me.

When we received our plates, which the head chef/owner delivered to our table, we were hopefully but concerned. The best part of the Benedict is the oozing, runny, delectable egg. Ours were both pretty much hard boiled.

My husband's English muffins was not toasted, the sausage was a premade Jimmy Dean type and a premade hash brown and very possibly green chile sauce from a jar. It was basically inedible. But since we were paying $15 per person he ultimately ate part of it. He didn't touch his severally over cooked eggs.

I didn't have an English muffin but my crab cake was very likely a premade crab cake that was purchased with tasteless hollandaise sauce on top. The egg was inedible because it was so overcooked. I ate one crab cake. My bacon was a weird texture and I didn't eat much of it.

10 minutes or more after receiving our food the owner/head chef came over and asked if there was something wrong with our food because she could probably see we weren't eating it. As she approached the table she saw the eggs were very overcooked and said so. She offered to replace the dish but we declined. Nothing other than the premade hash brown cake was worth eating.

Ultimately we ordered a cocktail each that were very good. They were the only good things we consumed there this morning. We really truly expected deliciousness from a James Beard nominee. If I hadn't eaten a fantastic James Beard restaurants in the past, I would assume James Beard awards were a joke. I really would love to support our local restaurants but being that we've never had a good meal here (this was our 3rd time) we will not go back.

We paid $85 for the worst brunch we've ever experienced. 🥲
