I’ve been boarding at Four Winds on and off for almost 10 years now. I can’t say enough about the care that the owners have and responsiveness to questions or concerns. The barn always feels like a community and I never have to worry about my gelding when I’m out of town.

Trust. What is the most important aspect of a horse training facility? Trust! Our 12 year old daughter has been riding at Four Winds for more than two years and I can’t emphasize enough how much I trust the Four Winds staff. This is a family run business that is made up of THREE generations of Throckmortons! The family name is synonymous with English riding, hunter, jumper, etc. They know horses, they know rider’s abilities, and they know how to build your trust from day one forward.
We are honored to be part of the Four Winds family. It’s not just a group of riders, trainers, administrators, etc. This is truly a family and that is how you’re treated. We are incredibly protective of our daughter, but have no problem dropping her off for hours at Four Winds because we know that everyone there is a close knit group that watches out for one another. Safety is the first priority and it comes through each day. Following that, it’s ensuring that everyone has an incredible experience. Linnea has built the training business into a first class operation that will benefit you from the first day you mount.
We recently bought a horse from the Throckmorton family and did so with complete confidence because of our Trust in them. They will never take advantage of you and their business is done with a handshake and a smile.
You’d be a fool to go somewhere else for your training or boarding. I don’t know everything, but I know this business and this family. They really are heaven sent.

You will not find nicer people running a barn anywhere. They offer schooling shows and rated shows and we trailer from middle of wyoming every time! They make you feel like family every single time! We love Four Winds!

I've been riding since I was 12yo, so about 17 years now and have been involved in a variety of training programs throughout my experience. After a couple of hiatus moments during the last few years, I was determined two years ago to find a trainer and a program that was close to me and who would allow me to finally grow into the rider I'd always wanted to be and through enough searching, I found Kim Klein. I joke with her that I've spent my entire riding career looking for her as my trainer, but the reality is that's the truth. Her educational experience with holding a master's in psychology brings a critical advantage to how she teaches - she breaks concepts down in relatable ways, while using language and terms that are easy to understand and that are still technical and traditional to the sport. She is extremely empathetic, is one of the most encouraging people I've ever met, and holds her students to a standard and expectation that means being challenged in some way every ride. She encourages growth while being respectful of boundaries and comfort zones with where you are as a rider on any given day, is exceptional with the little ones, brings a sense of calmness through both her horse and human training, and incorporates ideas and values about horsemanship that extend beyond just being in the saddle. I feel incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to know her, to learn from her, and to feel comfortable and safe with her as a rider.

There aren't enough businesses like The Four Winds in this world. To say that they are great is an understatement. They define excellence. They teach excellence. In character, in integrity and in form. The quality of training you'll receive here is second to none. From the moment we stepped foot on the property 2 years ago, we were welcomed with open arms to this family run business. The 3 generations of Throckmorton's all of whom are warm, friendly, compassionate, unbelievably humble and have developed a culture of gratitude within the barn itself. Everyone knows and cares for one another. Never is anyone excluded nor is there an expectation of a rider's abilities to be a part of this team. All are welcome here. On any given day you'll find more experienced riders helping out less experiences riders whether it's tacking up their horse, explaining a course or giving them a pat out the back. When a new face comes to the barn, people ensure that they feel welcomed. Our kiddo could hardly lead a horse around when we first started and now she's competing and setting personal goals for herself. 2 years ago, we set out to find an environment for children to thrive in. We found it here.

The Four Winds is a family-run barn and once you are here, you will be part of the family! The Throckmortons know a ton about horses and go out of their way to provide great care. Over the weekend with our huge snow, they had it all cleared the next day. Jasmine checked on the horses and even gave my horse a pill since the roads were bad. They also have multiple arenas for riding. It is a very welcoming and inclusive facility, open to all types of horses and riding disciplines. My horse gets great care there. Thank you all!

I have nothing but great things to say about The Four Winds. Everyone is incredibly welcoming. I’ve taken lessons with Linnea and Lily who are great trainers and give me quality tips to improve my ride which has been very hard for me to find at other barns I’ve ridden at. They are nothing but sweet and encouraging. Both trainers found my first horse and facilitated getting him back to the barn. I am now a paranoid horse mom and Jasmine the barn manager is always very available if I have any questions or concerns. Always quick to respond and very nice.

I highly recommend this facility for all levels of riders, if you need training for your horse and as a boarding facility.
