After thoroughly researching dog training facilities in the Chattanooga area, I settled on Dog Wizard. I met with Jon Hayes and began with the Private Lessons for my new family member, a one-year old, terrier mix. After a week of attempting to practice with my new charge at home, I quickly realized I had met my match.

I reached out to the DW office to ask to upgrade the lessons to the Jumpstart 14 or the board & train. Lauren & Susan in the office were so helpful getting us switched over! OH! Have I mentioned that they have payment plans

We got switched to the Jumpstart 14 program with Keila! I was so happy to hear that my Walter would be staying with her! Keila began communicating with me immediately, before Walter’s training began.

When Keila picked him up, she asked me all the right questions and that included asking me if I had any questions or concerns! She truly listened!

Keila sent me pictures & video updates several times a week. And if I messaged her during the day just to check in, she responded promptly!

When Walter returned from his Jumpstart training he was a different pet! He had found his manners! I was so impressed by the transformation! The follow-up lesson was wonderful as well! I have no regrets sending my fur baby to The Dog Wizard for training! I would do it again with no hesitation!

I look forward to continuing with the graduate support group! Thank you, Keila & DW Peeps for helping Walter be the doggo I need him to be!

We love The Dog Wizard. Our senior pup, Duckie, needed to nail down the basics to help with some behavioral issues and get more comfortable around other dogs. The Dog Wizard is patient and caters to each dog’s needs. We were able to work with multiple trainers- Kate, Marco, and Cali throughout the training and each brought their own, unique style to the training while following the program plan. We had one private lesson and attended the group Foundations class. Not only was it great for us to learn this new info, but it has really helped with Duckie’s confidence. We left training and you could tell how proud she was of herself. So glad we chose The Dog Wizard and we look forward to continuing our training with them. Would highly recommend!

Working with the Dog Wizard team has been a wonderful experience. We started with puppy classes with Marco and he was great to work and so patient with the puppies and their parents. Once our Birdie girl was old enough she went to board and train with Keila. I can’t speak highly enough of Keila and the work she did with Birdie. She kept us updated throughout the experience with text pictures, and videos, and then she spent the afternoon teaching us when Birdie came home. The work that Keila did with our pup has truly paid off. She is obedient and attentive all while keeping her spunky personality.

Marco was a perfect trainer for Petey and I to learn how to navigate the world now that it is just the 2 of us. We will definitely be keeping up with his training to get him and I to be our best. I would recommend Dog Wizard to anyone wanting to have a more hands on training experience since as humans we tend to see things differently than dogs. lol. And since Petey and I are in our senior years it is never too late to learn new things. 😊

We rescued a Golden / Anatolian shepherd mix back in September. My wife did a bunch of research looking for a good training class...many recommended Dog Wizard. Fast forward to today and we are proud to say our girl graduated with flying colors last Friday from her second series of training with Dog Wizard. We found each of the staff to be competent and extremely helpful. Marco was a stand-out for us. We also appreciate the way they provide lifetime free Saturday classes which has proven to be wonderful for us and our dog. You will NOT be disappointed in the investment and commitment to these folks. We cannot say enough good things about these folks and their sensitive & effective programs!

I highly recommend this team for your dog training needs!
I am extremely pleased with the expertise, customer service and friendliness of the staff at The Dog Wizard Chattanooga. After much research, they were able to answer all my questions and relieve my concerns about our at the time 7 month old rescue, Honey (October 2024). I had concerns about Honey’s biting, her impulse control, and safety (getting items off counter, running out the door, etc).
Upon meeting with the team, I felt confident in their program and trainers. While the cost is substantial, the benefits and skills were absolutely necessary for Honey and my family’s well being.
Kate is an exceptional trainer and I trusted her with our pup for the 14-day Jumpstart program (December 2024). Kate provided regular updates with pictures and videos of Honey’s progress. The Take Home lesson was incredibly helpful and we are now in the process of scheduling the follow-up (TBD - early January 2025). We have attended one of the Saturday group classes and I was again impressed by all the trainers; their recommendations and encouragements were specific and customized to each owner and dog.
While we continue to work through the puppy and adolescent stage, I am at present extremely pleased with both mine and Honey’s progress and look forward to our journey.

We had a very positive experience training with Cali at The Dog Wizard! She provided supportive instruction with patience for us as we worked with our rescue pup. The Dog Wizard’s procedures and policies set the tone for high standards for both dog owners and their dogs. This created an environment conducive to everyone’s successful learning. They provided support outside of class via video guides and required weekly homework for accountability. This homework was very important. We found that training our dog is much more about training ourselves! We highly recommend The Dog Wizard and Cali!!
