I highly recommend Jane to your family. With two young children we were already a busy house when we welcomed our sweet lab puppy into our house. We should have worked with him more on things like recall, not pulling on the leash, “drop it”/“leave it”, etc., but we had our hands full!! Now three years later we also have a new baby, and the lack of training was becoming a problem. I called Jane and she has been wonderful! She has been helping us train our 3-year-old lab to be a more attentive and obedient member of our family. She takes a patient and non-judgmental approach with the parents, and a positive reinforcement approach with the dog. We are making good progress! I particularly appreciate that Jane works with us at a pace we can handle. She also incorporates ideas for how we can involve our older kids in the training activities, and is thoughtful about working with caregivers on managing the kids with the dog as well. Jane truly gets it. The Canine-Kid Connection is the first dog training service that I have found that fits our lifestyle!

We reached out to Jane after our introverted terrier growled at our 9 month old baby.  Jane has a really wise, kind manner.  It's clear that she respects and enjoys dogs (and babies).  First we spoke with her on the phone for about 30 minutes--she introduced us to how she works and told us some basics about how to keep things between dogs and babies copacetic.  We then scheduled an in-person consultation with her.  She came to our house and watched the baby and the dogs interact and gave us some really valuable information about how to structure their interactions to avoid stressing out our dogs or our baby.  She is also one of the very few people who our terrier didn't bark at!  Practical advice, warm interaction--would highly recommend her to anyone who has a tricky dog or is thinking about how to introduce a new family member to their dogs.  Honestly, I wish we had engaged her before our baby was born--we definitely were doing somethings that weren't recommended, but now we're on a better path.

We were devastated that our new little dog, Ace, when introduced to our 3 year old granddaughter, spent the whole time barking and even growling at her. Fortunately we found Jane. She is wise, calm, and patient. And so good with our dog, who immediately fell in love with her. In her first visit Jane gave us such useful advice and training procedures that we signed up for several more classes. That was such a good decision! Ace is now quiet and relaxed when we see the grand-baby. Plus Jane gave us practical and effective advice on several fronts, from dealing with Ace's occasional "accidents" to crate training. I highly recommend Jane. We feel very fortunate to have her advice.

Jane was amazing to work with, and we would strongly recommend her to anyone! Jane helped us with specific training needs for Martha, our 2 1/2 year old Labradoodle, for a total of about 6 months.

Jane was careful to engage all our family members in the process from the start. We have two boys ages 11 and 8 years, and Jane was great in finding ways to make them excited about the training process and positive about their success.

Our goals for training with Martha over the 6 month period were for her to stop grazing around the kitchen counters, stop barking at passers-by and guests, be able to be in a separate room with closed door when we have guests over, and come and lie down on on command.

The process of working toward these goals was always positive, and we felt very supported by Jane along the way. Jane's approach was practical and kind, and she was always open to alternate techniques if the initial method wasn't working. Martha looked forward to every session and loved Jane!

We have seen such a positive difference in Martha, and the way we connect and work with her! Thank you, Jane!
