Cannot recommend Texas K9 Academy for dog training enough! I drove up from Houston to have my dog trained by Liz and she absolutely delivered. Niko is much more controllable on walks and when there is excitement. He came from a shelter so he had some habits that I couldn’t kick by just being his mom. Liz made sure to establish authority with Niko and gave me the right tools to establish myself as an authority figure as well. I can tell Niko definitely had fun at training. At pick up, Liz made sure to walk me through all of the rules I should maintain at home and took her time answering my questions. I have confidence that Niko and myself can handle any situation now because of Texas K9 Academy and Liz’s training.

Liz was so wonderful with Ollie! He is a completely different dog - no barking and is so well behaved but still has his fun personality!

We are incredibly thankful to have discovered Liz and Texas K9 Academy! We took our 6-month-old dachshund to Liz for training. Before the training, our dog disliked walks, wasn’t fully potty trained, and didn’t respond well to commands. After the training, we were amazed by his transformation. He now behaves wonderfully, especially on walks, staying on our left and not pulling on the leash and Liz gave us training to continue to reinforce good behavior. Our favorite command is “place” and works great when people come to the door or we have guests over. Overall, he’s a much happier pup with clear boundaries. We can’t recommend Liz enough! We also continue to work with Texas K9 Academy for boarding, confident that our pup is in the best hands.

We adopted a Blue in January from DAS, he was an owner surrender. It did not take long to realize why he was surrendered. He was completely out of control and sometimes a bit aggressive towards us & our other three senior dogs. We tried everything we knew to do but nothing worked. He could go from 0-50 in seconds and you could not bring him back down from 50. We signed Blue up for the two week board and train. Liz ended up keeping him a little over three weeks because he was not quite ready to come home. She brought Blue home to our house to help us reintroduce him to our other dogs. She took quite a bit of time with us and was very patient teaching the humans what we needed to do. It has now been a couple months since his training and he is a changed dog. He still gets a little crazy at times but he is now able to bring himself back down to a calm state in a very short period of time. He plays nicely with our other dogs and has good manners. I can say that Liz saved this dogs life, if we were not able to get him help we were not going to be able to keep him for the safety of us and our other dogs. Today he is a total joy to be around & he keeps us laughing with is silly nature. Thank you Liz for coming to the rescue, you really did save a life!!

I highly recommend taking your dog to Texas K-9 Academy for training. She worked with our new Labrador puppy, Piper, and the results were remarkable. Before working with Liz, Piper pulled on her leash, ignored commands, and pushed through the door when it was opened. Now, she walks right beside us on her leash and heels & sits when we stop, she is a good listener, and she sits at an open door waiting patiently for her name to be called before she goes through it. We board Piper with Liz as well. Liz comes to pick her up and returns her when we get home, which is a HUGE help to me. Piper gets so excited to see her when she arrives - she loves Liz! You won't regret taking your dog to Texas K-9 Academy - worth EVERY penny! 🙂

Liz is an amazing trainer! Our puppy was starting to get out of hand constantly knocking over and biting our 4yo son. We knew Froggy (border collie/Australian Shepard) was a long term investment which made the cost and results from Liz’s training 100% worth it. Froggy is back to track to being my sons best friend and has retained so much of what Liz as taught her. I am very happy with the puppy boarding program and rave about the program to everyone that meets Froggy.

Liz and Texas K-9 Academy helped us transition our new 1 year old pup and taught him wonderful manners before we picked him up for a two day driving journey home. He doesn’t bark at the doorbell but he comes and gets me to let me know someone’s there. He is a Labrador and they predominantly think with their stomachs, 4 months later still no begging when we eat. He has beautiful manners thanks to Liz and a shout out to Dickendall Labradors because his temperament is superior. I am blessed that the stars aligned and all of you came into my life. Liz knew I needed him to be gentle and not pull because I have a major wrist injury. He is beautiful on the leash and when he gets his recall command he comes running! Thank you so much for your help and compassion. I am hoping to use Texas K-9 Academy in the not so distant future.

Our Story

Murphy the seven month old chocolate Lab went to TexasK-9 Academy as a “ding-bat” and came back a much improved dog! He chose the two week obedience course, which in my opinion was just what he needed. Liz and the K-9 team took great care of Murphy. Occasionally throughout his training Liz posted videos of his progress. When Liz returned Murphy to us at our home we went through the training Murphy received so that all of us were on the same page! Liz had us go for a walk with Murphy and now I was in charge of the pace! And in charge of Murphy.
