Carol was there for me when I needed my Newfie fix after losing my beloved Penny unexpectedly to cancer during Co-vid. She texted with me for weeks at all hours of the day and night. It was so therapeutic for me. I was so excited to get my new puppy girl. My husband and I love our girl more than our life. She is our number 8 Newf. She is the most sweet gentle giant puppy girl! She is healthy and has a wonderful loving personality! Our Tuppence is lovely and everyone that meets her is mesmerized by her beauty and manners!

We got our pup from Carolann a year and a half ago and couldn't be happier! Our dog is such a love and is a great example of the breed. Notably, she is a very healthy pup. I've seen other newfies in our local meet up group have many health issues from a very young age. However, our puppy has had no issues and our vet is so happy with how her joints are developing + how healthy she is just in general! If you're looking for a dog from a healthy line I truly recommend Tenderheart Newfoundland!

I couldn’t be happier with our new puppy, what a sweet girl. Carol was a pleasure to deal with and really cared about her puppies being happy and healthy. She was helpful from the moment we contacted her and always answered my questions, which were a lot. When it came time to pick up our girl, she was helpful in coordinating getting her. The puppy bag she sent with Boo was full of everything we needed, plus more, to get started with our puppy. If you are looking for a Newfoundland puppy, I can highly recommend Tenderheart!

Carolann was wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend her to anyone! She was upfront, responsive, and very easy to work with. We received lots of pictures in the weeks leading up to pick-up and the pick up was easy.

Our puppy is healthy and has THE BEST temperament. I’d definitely recommend Tenderheart to anyone looking for a Newfoundland puppy!

I found this breeder on the AKC website. Carolann was responsive on the messenger, on the AKC website and also very quick to respond when I inquired about a puppy by email. The deposit was sent the same day after email correspondence and I was immediately put on the litter list of my choice. I love that there are multiple litter choices and can choose between a black, chocolate or Landseer Newfoundland litter list. I feel lucky to have found a friendly, reputable breeder in my home state, in Colorado. So far, the process has been a good experience. I look forward to picking up my puppy in April. Carolann has been so kind and even sent photos of mama with her new born pups and has kept me updated and answered the multiple questions that I had. This is our first Newfoundland dog and will not be our last 😉

We brought our baby home 4 months ago and absolutely love him. Tenderheart was an awesome breeder to deal with. We live over 900 miles away and Carol was so wonderful to work with. She has answered all our questions and relieved our anxiety about buying a puppy so far away. Magnum by far is a wonderful healthy beautiful puppy with a great personality. We got a puppy from Tenderheart Newfoundlands back in July 2017 and she has been the absolute highlight of our lives since! We named our puppy Cedar and when we picked her up her temperament was calm, confident, and inquisitive. We appreciate all of what Carol and Tenderheart did for Cedar in her first 8 weeks of life as it set her up to be a rockstar adult Newfoundland and perfect breed ambassador. We travel with her everywhere now and we couldn't imagine our lives without her. We would absolutely recommend Carol and Tenderheart to anyone looking for a healthy and well adjusted pup to add to their lives.

We have had a total of four dogs from this puppy mill and through what used to be T&R Newfs. Our oldest is now almost eight. They've all been very sweet, but I would never, ever recommend purchasing one from these people. They should not be allowed to breed dogs. We have been through hell with ours and it has led us to looking forward to when we can get a break by not having any dogs in our home for a while.

The oldest had major digestive issues for years, and has had skin problems his entire life. We finally found a novel protein kibble (kangaroo, at over $90/25lb bag), which has solved the diarrhea we all put up with for years, but he still needs weekly baths with a medicated shampoo or he gets horrific itchy, scaly patches. His fur has never looked right and his shedding has never gone well. It's only been in the past year after many, many trials and vet visits that we've found the right food and shampoo for him, and we just feel awful for him that it took so long.

We wanted to get him a companion when he was a little over a year old and (unwisely) went back to Tenderheart for another, not truly knowing how much time and money he would still require over the years. There was one still unclaimed when we got close to bringing our puppy home, so we chose her, too. The first eight months were great, to watch the two sisters together, but then the second (the one Carol told us was the runt and that's why she wasn't claimed, but still cost us the full $2K) suddenly died from an unknown, supposed neurological problem. She seemed uncomfortable one day, so we took her to the vet. They couldn't figure out what was going on, thought it might just be something minor, treated her as best they could, and then she seemed to feel better (likely from pain meds). Two days later, she couldn't stand up, so we took her to the ER and after less than an hour of monitoring, her heart stopped. She was eight months old. It's been over five years and I still can't look at pictures of her. Her sister is still with us, but has neurological problems of her own (anxiety, mostly). She licks her legs a lot, sometimes until a raw spot forms, is incredibly codependent, and barks at almost everything.

Rachel tried to make the sudden loss up to us, which we did think was a lovely gesture, by offering a puppy from a litter of our oldest boy's mom. This one has been our biggest ongoing problem yet. She is very undersized and has suffered nearly all of her five year life. We feel like she's already dying. As I write this, she is recovering from another of many, many episodes where she runs around, panicking, gulping and drooling. She has had several trips to a great vet to find solutions, but the best one we've found so far is the high-end novel protein food that her brother gets, along with antacids. She also has horrific skin problems, is treated similar to her brother, but much, much more so. Her itchiness is not from something environmental as we've ruled that out, but more likely stems from auto-immune issues. Her fur currently looks awful, despite all of our efforts. She also has hip dysplasia and very weak hind legs. She's incredibly sweet, has been very loved, and we try our absolute best to help her.

If you're researching where to get a Newfie, spend your $2K anywhere else. Hell, spend more if you have to, because it's worth it. We've gone way, way over that amount, and have put in countless hours trying to help ours to live the best life we can give them. We're actually thankful that we got them, and not someone with less patience.

Rachel and Carol, we will never forgive you for what we and our beloved dogs go through. We've received incredible amounts of praise and support from every vet, every tech, and everyone who's met our Newfies and knows our story for what we've had to do to help them because of incredibly irresponsible "breeders" like you. It feels really good to write this out in my seeking closure for the hatred we have for the Tenderheart Newfoundlands family. We'd shut you down for good if we could.
