Do not recommend going there. Took my pups, 6 month toy golden doodles in both times at 10 am for them to be started at 3pm. Was told they would be done at 3pm. Why have them there at 10 am? They go hours with no water or food and it’s ridiculous. I will find someone else to take my pups to from now on. If I had the option to give no stars I would have.

The groomers at Tarma's always do an amazing job grooming my dog. My little guy hates to be brushed and is terrified of scissors, so he's always a matted mess when I bring him in. The groomers are always very patient and take their time with him. When I pick him up, he looks adorable. I won't take my dog anywhere else to be groomed.

We have been taking our dogs here for a while, but lately the customer service has gone downhill. This is the second visit where I've come in with my dogs having been in the building since 8am. When I return at 5, as recommended by the staff, my dogs have not been ready. Last visit it took until 9pm to get my dogs and this time I waited in the parking lot for nearly 2 hours after the pickup time suggested. When this happens, I get told to return in an hour or in 30 minutes and when I return they still aren't ready. Some dogs I've seen not get started until 5pm even sitting outside the lot. One of the staff members made mention that my dog was hard to deal with, but this wasn't a complaint in the past.

With the size of my dogs, we often pay them extremely well even in tips, but now I am disappointed. I won't be bringing my dogs back.

Be Brave

Brought Sammy to Tarma for a nail trim on the recommendation of friends at the dog park. Walk in appts after 1pm. They got her right in, onto the table and off with her nails. I was able to watch everything bc it’s an open work area, which I think is great. They are very kind and professional. Highly recommend.

After seeing several great reviews for Tarma Grooming, I decided to take my 2 year old Havanese to get groomed. So glad I did. Getting an appointment was easy through Facebook. They only do drop off (8:00-10:00 a.m). I like this, because I think it allows for the groomer to take their time with my dog. The facility is small, but open, welcoming, and clean. The staff listened to what I wanted done, and made sure that they understood exactly what I wanted. The services they offer are things like pet safe hair dye and bling. I decided, in addition to her groom, I wanted to have her long tail dyed in a neon rainbow. The staff told me it would probably take awhile, and they would contact us when she was done, and it would probably be around 5:00 (which was absolutely understandable). When we came to get her, she looked absolutely adorable! I will definitely continue to bring my Havanese to Tarma for sure. The prices are about average of other locations, maybe even slightly lower, but the service, staff and care they took with us, is worth much more. The extra fun rainbow tail service was around $20 over the groom price, and 100% worth every penny! I apologize for the lengthy review, but if you love your animals like me and my family do, you will want to know how well they were treated, and the quality of the services. I absolutely think this is a fantastic group of groomers, who treat your animals as if they were their own. Highly recommend.

Highly recommend. I appreciated their efforts to collaborate on how we wanted our dog groomed. We asked for scent free products and they were willing to accommodate. We are traveling through the area and they were able to fit us in. The receptionist was very polite and helpful.

SO WONDERFUL. I have a cat that has a skin issue, and won’t groom herself. So I annually have to shave her. She’s a very picky, whiney and fussy(but beautiful) Himalayan. She’s been to multiple pet spas in DC, Washington State and Maryland. They’ve all made her look awful under the guise that “she’s difficult”.

Not Tarma. I just moved back to town and my mom recommended her since she used to groom our dog. My girl looks so great. And the price was very very good for the service. Lifetime customer for sure.

UPDATE: 2 years later and still incredibly happy with the grooming and service I receive here. ?

Just the Absolute best Grooming shop Ever! If you don't take your fur baby there than your both being robbed of an Awesome time,and GREAT PEOPLE!!
