Misleading Pricing and Poor Communication – Beware!

I purchased this dog grooming service for my Samoyed-Malamute mix, who weighs just under 100 pounds, expecting a premium experience for the high price. Instead, it turned into a frustrating ordeal. The total cost ended up being over 50% higher than what I typically pay in Boulder, Colorado, and I was hit with unexpected additional charges at the end that were never disclosed upfront.

To make matters worse, the grooming felt rushed and lacked the attention to detail I anticipated. Transparency is key when it comes to services like this—if there are any extra fees, they should absolutely be discussed before drop-off, not sprung on you afterward. Surprise charges are unacceptable, and this experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Even after the appointment, they kept texting me with updates about their pricing increases, which felt like an unnecessary and intrusive reminder of their lack of value.

I’m honestly confused about the glowing reviews for this service. It makes me wonder if incentives like discounts are being offered in exchange for positive reviews. Based on my experience, I can’t understand how they maintain such a high rating. I will definitely not be returning and suggest others proceed with caution.

I brought my dog Kili in for grooming services after finding out this business was so close to my apartment. I definitely recommend Tangled Tails.

Compared to my last groomer, this location was much better.

Nail trimming was much shorter than I was used to, which is great.

The products used have to be better quality because of the lack of dry skin and overall appearance of her coat. She smelled great as well!

The staff is great, location is easy to get to, pricing is absolutely in line with Denver prices.

Bonus points for being a locally owned business, owned by women. These are the businesses I want in my community so I encourage you to give Tangled Tails a try

Everyone was incredibly kind. They showed me pictures of what they were thinking for my dogs style/cut so I had a visual and she nailed it! Plus, added a last minute Mohawk for my pup and it’s adorable! Thank you, I will be back!

Highly recommend this shop! I have an Australian shepherd and they always do such a good job getting her all clean and fluffy again! Fair prices for full grooming + de-shedding, and the staff is super friendly!

Very happy with our experience going to Tangled Tails. Our dog always comes out looking great and we feel comfortable that she is being cared for during the grooming. We started bringing her as a puppy to be groomed by Cecilia and she gradually introduced her to grooming over a couple appointments. One of my dogs growing up had a bad experience at a groomer and was never comfortable with it afterwards so I am glad they take a better approach at Tangled Tails. Would greatly recommend to anyone! And start getting your puppy groomed early and frequently!
