We are on a road trip to Georgia and our two cats were getting bored of their current food supply. We were greeted by Gilligan & Ginger - two orange pet store kitties.

They have a lovely selection of unique cat toys, standard, tried & true brands like Weruva & Primal, and "newer" to the game (or at least, new to me) - cat food brands.

Our 20 lb tuxedo fur gangsta-cub got an otter dog toy that cheered me up because it reminded me of my late Father.

I have been using Sunflower pet for years! Mike at Sunflower pet is awesome, always friendly and helpful! If you are looking for something that nobody around has, just ask it might be something he can get, or it could be a great conversation about other products you might not know about.

I’ve been hoping to see the sweet girl who used to work around the store again but she hasn’t been around recently, hopefully moved on to better. My most recent experiences in the store has been far from pleasant. the older man, Peter i believe, has been making me very uncomfortable and the way he presents himself in a family establishment has been very alarming. I will be finding elsewhere for my pet needs from now on.

This pet store is not as large as petco or pet smart but it has a better selection of fish to choose from. Common tropical fish like the powder Blue Gourami in the photo are decently priced but other than very common fish the selection is a bit over priced. The tanks are all infested with Malaysian trumpet snails. They tend to know more about the fish than the big pet stores but don't spend as much time cleaning the tanks as a pet owner would. They do have some sales and items that you won't find in the big stores so they are worth checking out. But in my opinion fish are better purchased through online resources that have access to a wider variety and larger stock selection at better prices.

This store is beyond my expectations. As a beginner in the aquarium hobby myself, the helps and guidance offered by the store regarding plants, fish, and supplements suitable for my tank was greatly helpful. Before visiting this store, I didn’t know that a pet store can be this friendly and helpful. I am very glad to have this store in Manhattan, Kansas.
