Our Ruger is finally home from his 45 day hunting training with Steady on Point. Have nothing but good things to say about this company. Alan truly shows nothing but love for the dog and the sport. Ruger started out slow but Alan did not give up, instead he peeled away the layers to develop a training program that worked for Ruger. It was amazing to see how far he has come from the numerous training sessions I was able to attend. Alan also insured to keep us updated throughout the process with texts, pictures, and videos. I would recommend them to anyone looking to start a new pup or hone their current gun dog’s skills. I am excited to continue this bond with Ruger for the upcoming pheasant season and the many more seasons to follow.

I cannot say enough good things about working with Alan — 5 stars all the way around.

When we bought our Fox Red Lab puppy I knew I wanted to have her trained by someone who could spend quality 1:1 time with her (not training 40 dogs at a time), who would understand my objectives for the dog (obedience and a great family dog first, but be a darn good bird dog as well), and who was committed to keeping us up-to-date on her progress with photos while our family pet was away (kids ages 6, 9, and 11 had trouble seeing her go).

Alan exceeded all of our expectations. His calm and positive approach worked well with our dog (she doesn’t do well with yelling…) and she came home from training ready for the field. Alan did a great job and I’m happy to consider him as much of a new friend as I am my dog’s trainer.

Alan is an absolutely fantastic trainer! He took my young lab pup Daisy and not only has her hunting upland but also dialed in her basic obedience. The pup I got back is machine and loves to spend time doing retrieving exercises but also is able to calm down and be the family dog inside. Alan was able to determine exactly which method and speed to work Daisy and it is very apparent they connected as she absolutely loves working with him. Alan and Steady on Point are wonderful. He had our Vizsla, Olive for 45 days. He is an incredible trainer. Sensitive, responsive, practical and experienced. His love for these animals is always on display. He would consistently give us updates about our dogs progress and well being with videos and photos documenting her journey. When we picked up Olive she was happy, healthy and in excellent spirits. She was holding her point perfectly, steady to shot and retrieving birds with style. I can't recommend Alan highly enough. Finding the right person, that you can trust, to care and develop your dog can be daunting. But Alan is the real deal. You would be lucky to work with him!
