I had a great experience at Southern Tails! The trainers really put into perspective how dogs think and learn and I've truly enoyed building the bond with my dog. I read some reviews that mentioned the class covers things you could easily teach the dog on your own (sit, stay, etc). I have a working line German shepherd who did master the direct command very quickly. However I found the class provided so much more enrichment than that. The trainers Caroline and Ellen did a wonderful job adjusting the training style for each type of dog. They also introduced our dogs to other elements that they may not typically encounter. While my girl is easy to master a command, she is slightly shy and reactive and they taught me a lot about managing that behavior, redirecting anxiety into something positive and creating a neutral attitude towards unknown elements. I have more work to do with her outside of class to ensure what I learned here sticks, but we will certainly be back for the advanced puppy class. Thank you!

This is our 2nd class. The trainers/instructors are great. The curriculum is very good. The homework assignments really help the dog and owners achieve their goals. Everyone is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Absolutely LOVE this dog school. The staff are kind, patient, and informative! I'm a first time dog owner and brought my golden retriever puppy to their Best Puppy Class and learned so much! Our trainer Caroline even let me stay after class a few times and ask questions about how to deal with some specific issues I was having. My pup and I really enjoyed learning and working together, so I've already signed up for the next Advanced Pup Class! HIGHLY recommend.

My pups are always treated well at Southern Tails! We enjoy the training classes and the hands-on activities for the dog and human. Love working with Ally, Gary, Corey and Ellen.

*I want to first say, the people here are very sweet. This review is in no way reflective of the character of the staff here.* This is a good place to go for a dog who struggles to learn basic commands. For my boy, everything we learned at Southern Tails were things I could have taught him at home. My dog ended up being bored in his obedience classes and acting up more in them because he would learn his command under 5 minutes, do it, then want more to do. This is not the best option if you have a breed that requires a lot of mental stimulation and a firm leader. If I choose to put my dog back in any type of training, it will be boarded training with someone who is equipped to work with Dobermans and other large guard breeds that require more extensive training.

We love Souther Tails! They groom our fur baby Snooki, once or twice a month and it always a great experience. They send her home clean from head to toe and smelling the best!! What's even better is the smell lasts a couple of weeks most of the time. We have also completed training classes there and they have the most amazing instructors. I just can't say enough about how great these people are!

Extremely rude! Called to inquire about puppy school on Monday, left a voicemail to see when next class would be as I am a little desperate to get my puppy trained and how to handle some bad behaviors properly, went online to pay $25 deposit on Monday, finally received a call back on Friday. In the meantime, I received a recommendation and an immediate opportunity to send my pup to a 2 week in home training and I decided that was what I needed to do for us and my pup. When I explained to the lady what I had decided to do, she got quite snarky with me and stated they never recommend that for a pup and wish I would have called her (which I did, 4 days prior) then wished me good luck with that. Very disappointed in her customer service and attitude with me.

We’ve known Ally before she moved the school to this location. Our first mini schnauzer went all the way from Obedience 101 through Acting 101. Our current pup did Obedience 101. We learned so much and always had so much fun during class! We would highly recommend Ally and her crew to teach you how to teach your pups!
