Clean and well organized store with a good selection. The animals are healthy and look well cared for. Staff is more than happy to help if you have any questions or just want to see a critter. If you call they'll almost always immediately answer and happily tell you what they have in stock

Passing through Colorado Springs and saw this reptile store. Decided to stop by and glad I did. They had a lot of exotic reptiles you don’t see in your normal reptile store. Different morphs than the usual everyday normal reptiles. I ended up purchasing an Orange dream pied het hypo ball python. Been looking for a pied bp for a while now. Cust service was great even with a lot of people in that small store. Recommend going to check them out.

Today I met the Scales 'N Tails team at the Show Me Reptile Show! Ronald, the owner, was phenomenal. Made himself available for all my questions and truly educated me on the husbandry of my NEW Gargoyle Gecko, Hugo!

Later, I visited Kyle at the store front and he helped me pick out all of the required items to keep Hugo happy and healthy at home.

Thanks for being a one stop shop who's eager to help and educate a novice like me.

If I could do 10 stars I would!!! All the guys here are so helpful!!! I was worried about my snake not eating and Eli told me to bring my snake by and anyone would take a look at her. Kyle checked out my snake and even got a splinter out of her eye. The guys always have the best tips and are always willing to help. Thank you so much everyone at Scales and Tails!!!!!

It seems like it's a little hit or miss who is working at the time and the north location. Two guys that almost look like brothers are awesome. They were as excited as we were for us to be new axolotl owners and were SO helpful and encouraging. I went back twice to get some food, and both times it was other guys that made me feel dumb and like I was an inconvenience. "Get your stuff and get out" is how I felt. I wish I'd gotten the first two guys' names! I haven't been back because I got the impression I'm an annoyance that I'm into the "trendy" exotic animal. 😢 If only I knew when the first two guys were working I'd be there regularly 🙂 Our little guy that we got there is doing great!!

Healthy animals and friendly staff who know what they're talking about. My crested gecko from them is as healthy and happy as ever a year later, and I always head here when I need supplies. Would strongly recommend this spot for advice on care or equipment, the employees won't try to sell you anything you don't need and they're clearly very passionate about reptiles.
