Receiving Allie’s support with our dog has brought such a light to my dog’s life as well as mine and my husbands. We sought support from Allie due to my dog’s reactivity, leash pulling, and aggression due to fear. I was stressed out on walks which interfered with my hope to take him on outings. These were the main issues I wanted support with and little did I know that Allie would address them all and so much more. She helped give my dog freedom that I did not imagine was possible. I learned the root of my dog’s aggression was fear and lack of confidence. As he grew in confidence other issues that I did not expect also improved such as his car sickness and fear of car rides.

She is an amazing and caring trainer with a wealth of knowledge that has helped us enormously. Before Allie I was going down rabbit holes of research as a new dog owner and found so much contradictory information. Now I have someone whose information I trust and aligns with my interest in science based behavior training and holistic health information. She also saved us a lot of money with the vet when she showed us how to help my dog over his immense fear of ear drops which the vet staff were not helpful with. I stopped wasting money on bad dog foods, treats and toys. Her dedication to you and your dog shows from the very beginning as she has a thorough questionnaire to assess your dog and situation. The consultation alone is gold so if you are having doubts, try her consultation and it will be an excellent use of your time and money. Initially I was looking for positive only training and had reservations about anything else. I am so glad that I did not because I now know that it would not have worked with my dog nor given him the freedom he deserves.

My husband, dog and I love attending training. It is a lot of fun for us. Allie was transparent about her training methods. They are humane and my dog became happy and comfortable with all the tools and methods used. Allie’s training aligns with what she expects of her human trainees–consistency, accountability, and grace. Her training works because she follows up, provides video training assignments, feedback and knows when your dog and you are ready to move on to a new behavior and phase. She is there for you when issues arise and gives you tips and feedback quickly. With all that said, I see the training as a great investment that has improved the quality of our life and my dog’s. It is absolutely worth it!

1) What prompted you to seek professional help for you and your dog?
Before our puppy we had a mini schnauzer who was reactive and honestly embarrassing to being anywhere. We also had a rescue terrier mix who was also reactive, he is now 14. After our schnauzer passed away we decided to get a cockapoo puppy. After a couple of months, we wanted to nip some bad habits in the bud while she was still young. We have two younger kids and we didn’t like that Lucy was pushing and jumping on them. Even though she was small she was pretty strong and she was just getting bigger. She also barked at anything and everything, including the wind. We wanted to be able to take her everywhere with us and not be embarrassed of our dog.

2) Were your concerns addressed? Was the training plan simple and effective?
YES AND YES! Lucy has been training with Allie for a couple of months now. She is like a brand new dog. I can take her walks around dogs and people, she obeys and our relationship is amazing.

We even found out she’s part mermaid! Lucy loves swimming!

3) Was your dog happy and comfortable with the methods used?
Yes! Lucy absolutely loves Allie and knows when we are going to class. Allie has helped us with leadership in our house and learn to read our dogs.

4) Did you feel like the training was transparent and humane?
Yes, Allie gives you all the tools and support you need to succeed with training. She gives you lots of feedback, explains why we do certain things and has lots of instructional videos and lectures. I personally love nerding out on all the dog training lectures she sends me!

Allie is our biggest cheerleader! We can send her videos to show her how we are progressing or have her troubleshoot what we are practicing. She’s passionate about what she does and is so knowledgeable.

What else (if anything) could you add to give a personal perspective on your overall experience?
After the first couple of classes with Allie, I decided I was all in. Dog training has been therapy for me. I look forward to walking and training with Lucy everyday.

I never in my wildest dreams thought I could take her off leash or even have her dock dive! This little pup loves to swim!

One of the best parts of RogueK9 is the community and cheering everyone on during their journey.

The Advanced group classes are super productive and fun because we can practice around other dogs while being in a controlled safe environment. We love seeing all of our new fur friends so often!

Allie is hands down the best person my husband, our dog and I have come across. She has pulled us and our dog out of a few dark places through foundation style dog training. She continues to do that at every virtual training session. I can remember a time I couldn't be alone with my dog, living in fear of what might happen. 1) What prompted you to seek professional help for you and your dog?
Even before adopting, we knew that we were going to want professional training, not just a few classes at our local pet store. (Nothing against them, but we were looking for more.) . When we adopted Jackie as a young puppy, she was fun and playful...and a handful...we knew that we were going to need training from the beginning. Jackie is a Rottweiler, and we wanted to start training our large breed early so handling as an adult would be easier.
2) Were your concerns addressed? Was the training plan simple and effective?
Absolutely! Training with Rogue K9 Academy went far above and beyond expectations! We definitely received the obedience training we signed up for, and so much more! The hands on approach to understanding our dog's breed and the best way to advance our relationship with our dog has been invaluable. The training is simple, easy to understand, and consistent.

Jackie has responded so well with the training methods. She understands the training, and knows when we switch to "work mode". She loves doing well and is happy when she knows she made us happy.
4) Did you feel like the training was transparent and humane?
Allie's priority is maintaining the respect, care, and trust of the dog, the owner, and their relationship in the most humane ways available. She goes out of her way to make sure that the owner knows how to handle the dog, and explains why each training task is important. She makes sure we convey to the dog exactly what we want/expect in any given cue. She wants to be sure that expectation meets understanding in a productive and systematic approach to the training.

ABSOLUTELY! Yes, Allie provides obedience and agility training services. She also cares about your fur-baby!!!! She has dedicated so much research and attention to understanding dogs. She helps with everything, all of my MANY questions: breed-specific information, feeding, health, training, toys, gear, socialization, behavior, medicine, everything! She routinely checks in to see how our progress is going, and is always available to answer my questions.

What else (if anything) could you add to give a personal perspective on your overall experience?
I cannot imagine raising our puppy without Allie by our side!!!! She is patient with all of my ridiculous questions, follows up with us regularly, and is genuinely interested in the growth and happiness of our dog!

If you have dogs with behavioral issues, this is it. You've found your place. I could go on and on but I'll keep it simple.

The trainer: Allie is amazing. Not only is she knowledgeable but she CARES. She cares about the dogs, she cares about you and she cares about your relationship with your dog. She is always available and quick to respond with any questions or feedback. I am a virtual client so this is super helpful.

The training method: It is not cruel. It works on leadership in a respectful way to your dog. The way I see it, you're teaching your dog first what you want them to do in a safe and fun way and only when you are sure the dog absolutely understands what you are asking of them, will you introduce any sort of correction and these are done using the absolute least amount needed. Just as (hopefully) you wouldn't beat up your kid for disobeying you, especially if they don't even know what they did wrong, you won't do that to your dog either. It is work for both you and your dog, not magic but I enjoy working with my dog and he absolutely loves training.

The results: I can only speak about my experience. I am sure everyone and every dog is different so their journey might be different as well. My dog is reactive to other dogs and people. He can be very friendly at times and totally freak out another time. What we work on is that when he is with me and under a command (heel, sit, etc.) all is good. He is safe and I have the situation under control. Does this mean he'll never bark or react to other dogs or people? No, it doesn't. But I don't want that either. He has the freedom to be himself and I respect that. Some of it is in his breed. Moreover, he warns me of potentially dangerous situations and I know he'll try to protect too if needed. But I can safely take him out on walks, have people over at the house and do all the normal life stuff with him in a safe way as well.

Hopefully this helps you! I tried different trainers and different methods for years before finding Allie and I only wished I had found her sooner.

1) What prompted you to seek profession help for you and your dogs?
After about a year and a half of getting along perfectly fine, my two female terrier mixes started acting aggressively towards each other, and even got into a fairly serious dog fight. After speaking to a couple of trainers and pet stores, I spoke to Allie who immediately made me feel confident that she could help us through our situation.

2) Were your concerns addressed? Was the training plan simple and effective?
Yes and Yes! The first few people I reached out to said that we would definitely have to rehome one of our girls. Allie gave us a simple plan to follow to help us understand and address any future aggressive behaviors that our dogs may have towards one another. Allie was more than just a dog trainer the entire time. She trained myself and my partner to know what to look for and what to do in situations that could easily escalate between the dogs. We never felt rushed or inadequate. She made sure our work with our dogs was on point before we moved on to the next phase of training.

3) Was your dog happy and comfortable with the methods used?
Yes. My dogs were always comfortable with the methods that we used for dog training because Allie taught us to make everything extremely predictable for them. My dogs were never mistreated or taken by surprise with what they were doing. They know their commands, and they know what we are looking for when we give those commands. On top of that, my dogs LOVE Allie and going to training with her. She is known as “Teacher Allie” to my girls, and they always get so excited when we mention her name.

4) Did you feel like the training was transparent and humane?
Yes. As I mentioned before, the dogs were never caught off guard with anything we did because Allie’s dog training method was predictable for them. The same can be said for us as their owners. Allie was always really honest and transparent with what we needed to do better and what we were doing really well. She also puts the dogs safety first above all other things. Even though we were in a tricky situation with our dogs acting aggressively towards one another, Allie made sure that we addressed the situation before it escalated in a fair and humane way before either one of them got hurt.

This is honestly such an understatement. Allie went so far above and beyond what most dog trainers are willing to do to help us through our situation. She talked to us about what our role was in the dogs acting aggressively. She taught us how to be fair and loving while keeping high expectations for our girls. She also taught us so much about canine nutrition and health. Our dogs were always on the slightly heavy side, and as soon as Allie gave us input on their diet and their eating habits, both of our girls dropped to a “perfect weight” according to their doctor. We got so much more than training for Allie, we revamped our dogs entire lifestyle and they have really never been happier or healthier. Also, theres so much variety for classes you can take. There are personal classes, all sorts of awesome group classes, and social classes that are all equally beneficial to make you and your dog a well-rounded team. I cannot recommend Allie and K9 Rogue Academy enough.

Our beagle was displaying behavior that we were unable to curb.

We are still in training and we have seen a tremendous improvement in how we are leading him and how he is responding. Allie’s training plans are clear and simple, and her training techniques help both us and our dog. We have learned so much already.

Very much so, we can tell because he is responding to our cues. He needed better leadership from us and now he is becoming the dog we knew he could be.

Yes, Allie explains why we are doing a particular exercise or training. It's important to her that we understand what we are doing and is willing to expound on her training methods for us to understand and follow through as we to continue our training at home. Allie's training method uses positive reinforcement to strengthen their confidence and never in a negative way.

Beyond FULL SERVICE. We receive videos, charts and are offered online classes to improve our dog handling skills. She invests herself in both us and in our dog.

6) What else (if anything) could you add to give a personal perspective on your overall experience?

The best testimony we can share is how my dog now behaves himself and obeys our cues. We’ve been given training tools that will be used for every dog we have in the future.

1) What prompted you to seek professional help for you and your dog?
My girl was rescued from a field in the desert at 4weeks old and was the sweetest independent pup until I had her spayed. She then became aggressive/protective towards other dogs and people she didn’t know and I didn’t know what to do. Allie was working with some friends and their dog so I gave her a call not knowing if she could help.

2) Were your concerns addressed? Was the training plan simple and effective?
Absolutely! We have received skills and knowledge that I would’ve ever expected. I say this because never having a dog with her characteristics I didn’t know where to start without making things worse.

3) Was your dog happy and comfortable with the methods used?
Without a doubt! She needed the constructive yet positive reinforcement we received during our sessions. We both did… and we are not done with this process. It keeps getting better.

4) Did you feel like the training was transparent and humane?
Very, Allie made it clear on what she is all about and what she believes when it comes to her style of training. I appreciate her honesty even when it‘s directed at my technique.

Working with my Sammi under her supervision and her response has been life changing! We can actually go out in public and you don’t know what that means to me. Our dogs are our family and we take them camping and to the river. Sammi is a happy confident one year old Shepard heeler mix that will never have to be stuck in the yard or worse because of her aggression.
