River Valley Cat Oasis exceeded our expectations in every way possible! From the moment we stepped into their welcoming space, we knew we were in the right place. The staff at River Valley Cat Oasis were incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated to finding the perfect match for both the cats and the adopters. The facility itself was clean, spacious, and designed with the well-being of the cats in mind.

We fell in love with Olive and Simba the moment we met them, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure a smooth adoption process. They provided us with all the necessary information about the cats' background, medical history, and behavioral traits, which made the transition into our home seamless.

It's evident that River Valley Cat Oasis prioritizes the happiness and welfare of their feline residents, and we couldn't be more grateful for the wonderful experience we had adopting Olive and Simba. We highly recommend River Valley Cat Oasis to anyone looking to add a furry friend to their family—you won't be disappointed!

I went to the River Valley Cat Oasis towards the end of October to meet Skitz that I saw posted on their Facebook page. As soon as I saw him, I knew he was going to come home with me. The shelter was tidy and free of any overpowering animals smells. The staff was friendly and not pushy for me to just take him home. They let me visit with him as long as I wanted to, which ending up being about 45 minutes. Skitz has really come out of his shell since being home. He cuddles nightly and is a personal alarm clock at 5:15am for a refresh in his food and water supply.

If someone was looking for a fur baby, I would suggest them to go here.

My family has adopted 3 of our cats from Jennifer and our family wouldn’t be complete without them. If you or anyone you know is looking to add to your family, I highly recommend stopping by!

On March 1st 2023, my brother passed away suddenly & unexpectedly in his home at 59 years old. His 3 beautiful cats were suddenly without him and in need of a new home. I called River Valley Cat Oasis and they told me if I could wait 1 week, they would be able to take all 3 cats!! I never expected they would say yes to all 3!! I was so happy the cats could stay together since they had lived together for several years.
Thanks to 2 loving families, all 3 cats were adopted within about 3 weeks! 2 of his cats went to a family with 3 kids, and his older cat was adopted by wonderful couple.
My brother would be SO happy to know that all of these amazing people from the Cat Oasis and the 2 adoptive families, came together to give love and care to his 3 beautiful loving cats!
I can not give enough thanks to each one for helping me/us through a sad and difficult time.
I was in tears the day we showed up at the Cat Oasis. My brother was my only sibling. But I was met at the Oasis by Jennifer and the other ladies, who were all very kind, and made the sad situation better. They know all of their cats by name, they know each of the cats' personalities, and they do their best to match the right cat with their new forever family.
Also left behind was Tut, my brother's dog that he rescued as a puppy from a ditch. Tut was sad to not see his owner/friend each day and was very much in need of a new home. River Valley Animal Rescue also said yes to taking Tut! In just a few weeks, I was told Tut was being fostered and that most likely it seemed the foster family was going to keep her! I also can not thank that incredible foster family enough!
Please - if you are in need of a new home for a cat or dog, for whatever reason, I HIGHLY recommend River Valley Cat Oasis/RVAR. The people there who devote their time and hard work truly love these animals and take the utmost care of them.
THANK YOU RIVER VALLEY CAT OASIS & RIVER VALLEY ANIMAL RESCUE OF MOMENCE. I will never forget your kindness. Dee H.

I adopted the most wonderful cat from River Valley in October '23. He is truly a great cat and very loving. I would love to say that he was adopted out healthy, but he wasn't. I understand that all animals from a rescue run the risk of infections due to a large population of animals, but I also know there is some help the rescue provides to treat said infections. When leaving the rescue, I mentioned that he was sneezing. I was told to contact the rescue if his condition worsened and they could provide antibiotics to help the infections. His condition worsened and the next day he developed an eye infection and then the other eye became in infected shortly after. After his eye infections, he then began sneezing a lot with very large, green mucus. I contacted the rescue and they told me he did not have an upper respiratory infection because there was no mucus on his face. His eyes and upper respiratory worsened and instead of waiting for the rescue, I took him to the vet. He was diagnosed with a double eye infection and a nasty upper respiratory. I also did bloodwork in order to make sure nothing else was wrong. Nothing was done from the rescue side and no medication was offered or compensation. I was contacted by the vet that the bloodwork showed evidence of a fecal parasite and we did a fecal. The fecal showed that he had giardia that the vet believes was acquired from the rescue as well as the other infections. At this point he had been in quarantine from my other animals about 2 weeks due to the eye infections and upper respiratory and needed to be in quarantine another 5 weeks. I contacted the rescue again and nothing was offered the second time they were contacted. On his check up for the upper respiratory infection he wasn't clearing the infection and needed an antibiotic shot. Fast forward 5 weeks, he hasn't had any contact with my animals at all and we did a recheck on the fecal. His fecal showed that he cleared the giardia infection, but it now showed that there was evidence of a coccidia infection another fecal parasite. The vet stated that on the first fecal, he wasn't shedding any cysts from the coccidia infection and he believed he acquired this infection from the rescue as well since he had been in quarantine at my house for a month and a half. My animals also had their fecals tested and all of their fecals were negative for any parasites. The rescue was contacted yet again and nothing was offered yet again. My cat spent 2 months in quarantine and hundreds of dollars went into the care of this cat. I am thankful he is healthy now but the amount of money and time went to his care for the four infections that he received from the rescue is crazy. I understand that his care is my responsibility financially but none of these infections were acquired while in my care and no compensation was offered at all. I love my cat and am thankful for adopting him, since he his the best. I am just very disappointed in how this was handled by the rescue.

Amazing place for adopting a kitten or cat! The staff is so friendly and helpful and you can tell how much they love the animals. They know every cat there and do everything in their power to find the purrfect match between the cat and the person. The space is clean and inviting and the cats are allowed to roam freely. We adopted 2 kittens and could not be happier!
