Redstone has been our vet for almost 9 years and we wouldn’t go anywhere else! The staff is warm and friendly and greeted our dog with such enthusiasm…our dog loved going to the vet! We were always able to get an appointment quickly and felt supported through all our decisions (from surgery to acupuncture). We recently had to say goodbye to our sweet boy, and the staff was amazing. They gave us the extra time, attention, and love during this difficult time. We look forward to bringing a new member of our family to Redstone…

Went there for an exam after adopting our new kitty at the humane society shelter.

We were taken back within 5 minutes of our appointment time. The staff was friendly and efficient.

They ended up having to kitty burrito our little girl but they handled things really well.

Overall a pleasant experience. Love that they work with the shelter to give a free exam and free vaccination.

I LOVE Redstone Animal Hospital and Dr Downey. My two girls (Bella & Emmie) both have chronic problems. Dr Downey and staff have been there every step of the way with my girls and have provided outstanding support to me in helping me with the care of my girls and the management of their issues. I honestly could not have made it through without Dr Downey’s care and expertise.

I also just recently got my boy (Henry). I was really struggling with getting the potty training down. It was becoming so stressful. Dr Downey took extra time at our visit to go over additional strategies for Henry which are proving successful.

Dr Downey and staff truly care about making your furbabies health and welfare a priority. Love you Dr Downey and staff.

Our almost 16 years old told us yesterday (through her actions) that she was ready to cross the rainbow bridge. Redstone has been our vet pretty much since the day we adopted her, 11 years ago and we have been more than happy with her care and her brother’s care (we adopted him a year after her). Most recently both dogs have been seen as senior dog citizens. The process of helping us help our dog cross the rainbow bridge was such an emotional experience filled with compassion for us and comfort for our dog. I cannot recommend Redstone Hospital enough. Our dog gave us very little time to explore in home options for end of life care. I was on the phone with Redstone at 8:00 and we were in the special end of life room at 9:30 am. We are so filled with grief but she passed in our arms, quickly and quietly thanks to the caring staff beginning with the front office. A staff member even met us at the car to offer help if needed. We have seen many vets at Redstone from beginning vets to those who have been with Redstone for years. I did not get the name of the individuals who assisted and also helped us, but they were so compassionate as well. So basically, I recommend Redstone Animal Hospital 100 %. So thank you Dr. Downie, Dr. Hooper and all of the others who have cared for our Mei over the years.

Disappointing Experience After 7 Years – Take Your Pets Elsewhere

We’ve been taking our two Great Danes to Redstone Animal Hospital for about 7 years for their shots and the occasional sick visit. Both dogs are healthy but elderly now, and we’ve had good experiences with the female vet, who is thorough and takes the time to explain each step.

However, recently one of my Danes fell ill with drooling, lethargy, loss of appetite, and diarrhea. When I called to schedule an appointment, I was shocked at the response from the receptionist, Jen. She informed me that due to their policy, they couldn’t schedule my dog for at least a week because it had been a year since the last visit, even though that visit was a routine wellness check in October 2023, and it was now October 2024. Despite my dog being clearly sick, she wouldn’t make an exception or show any concern.

When I expressed frustration and mentioned that I couldn’t continue with a vet that upholds such a policy, she went a step further and refused to even preemptively schedule the visit. She also refused to transfer me to anyone else to discuss the issue. I was floored by her dismissive, uncaring attitude.

I love my dogs too much to bring them to a place that prioritizes policies over the well-being of the animals. The prices here are already higher than most other vets, and now I see they’re not even worth it. Even Chewy RX is cheaper, and most vet visits elsewhere are more affordable.

I will be finding a new vet that truly cares about the animals they serve.

When we moved from our last home, we looked for a new vet to take care of our two dogs. We were lucky enough to find Redstone and Dr. Downie. We had to say goodbye to both of our dogs this year, one just last week. We always experienced quality care from Dr. Downie and all the staff. When it came time to say goodbye, we were in awe of Dr. Downie's compassion. You couldn't ask for a kinder person to take care of your animals. Thank you for being so wonderful with our pets.
