My experience with Proven K-9 was nothing but positive. From my first calls with owner Jay J and his wife, to meeting our highly-skilled trainer, Sammie. My 1 year-old German Shepherd, Penelope was from the Dallas Animal Shelter. She was a stray for a while and had no social or obedience skills, she was clearly stubborn and difficult. I decided to enroll her in their 4-week training program.

I read many good reviews on Sammie and was delighted when she was selected as our trainer. But, her reviews pale to her integrity as a highly-skilled trainer and a good, kind soul. I can't say enough to her earned respect from me! She always went above and beyond my expectations with clear goals that were met and clear communication weekly, often times daily with detailed emails. When Penelope came home she was a different dog; calmer, obedient, losing many bad behaviors, thanks to Sammie. My dog also fell in love with her as the pics show (attached).

If you are at your wits end (as I was) with your dogs behavior and looking for solutions, look no further. Proven K-9 is a tight-knit family business that runs a very good operation and one that can be trusted with your furry family member!

My sweet sweet deaf baby boy Phoenix went to the 4 week board and train and he came back with a strong recall amazing manners quick response and understanding of my hand signals and his e-collar. he is doing amazing. phoenix will be accompanying me at work for now on. His willingness to work and learn, allowed his trainer Sammie to work him much longer in his training sessions, leaving him to come home with more reliable responses time to the commands given. The 4 week board and train also allowed him to be able to have time in the beginning to decompress from being in a new environment without us. His now auntie Sammie shaped his food motivation and excitement as well as his high drive to please into this fantastic obedient dog who I can account on to obey my commands as well as his newfound ability to maintain composure and self regulate in highly exciting situations. I am forever grateful I stumbled spoon proven k9 to train up my sweet boy phoenix, whom is a high drive cattle dog on top of being deaf they took wonderful care of him and he came out a change little guy for the better!

Sammie and the whole team at Proven K9 Training were great. Our pups have both been so much better behaved since they each did a two week board and train with Sammie. They all clearly love dogs there and you can tell with the amount of time they put in with each dog. We loved that they took them on outings the second week and we got lots of photo updates (a whole shared album of photos during their trainings and outings). When we went to pick up Parker and Harley, Sammie spent at least two hours with us to talk about everything they worked on and to show us how to work with our dogs to continue the progress at home. We even had some questions later on, months after the training, and Sammie was quick to respond with extremely detailed and helpful advice. She even called me to talk through some new difficulties we were having with the pups. I would recommend their board and train to anyone who wants their dogs to be better trained and generally better behaved.

I had my 2 dogs do board and train with Joseph. Joseph was awesome and did a great job helping us with not only general training but the specific concerns I wanted addressed. He gave me great updates throughout their training too which I really appreciated. He only had them for a few days but Joseph spent time at drop off to go over how to continue to reinforce their new skills. He has checked in since dropping them off to make sure the dogs have been doing well with the new skills and make sure we did not need any additional guidance/had concerns. Joseph really cared for my dogs and it’s evident he truly enjoys working with dogs. I am happy we went with the board and train

We could not recommend Proven K9 Training more! Sammie had our dogs for the two-week board and train, and they came back like new dogs. Sammie does an amazing job letting the dogs show their personalities and meeting them right where they’re at. We have one dog that is overly confident and one that is a bit more timid but she handled them both so well and taught them to be independent of one another. They got to do an abundance of solo and group training sessions in their facility and more importantly, out in public. Sammie and her team showcase extreme patience and knowledge when working with every dog. We got report cards every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the form of an extensive email explaining what they’ve been working on and how each dog was responding and progressing. At the halfway point you get to go see your dogs and watch them do a training session. When it’s time to pick the dogs up and go home, you get a multi-hour training session with your dogs so you can practice how to incorporate all the things they’ve learned when you bring them back to their home environment. Sammie provided tips on how to quickly correct them and when and how to reward. Our favorite command they learned is “place” as it will help in everyday life when new people enter our home, strangers are at the door, or we simply don’t want them in our space. Sammie also trained both dogs how to heel on walks and that they don’t get to lead. This is going to be a complete game changer for us as walks have always been such a task with two dogs that love to pull. We’ve been to other dog training programs before and none of them were as effective. Our dogs genuinely loved the staff and we’re very thankful they offer lifetime support for any future questions, struggles or boarding needs.

The owner Tara was amazing, she was informative and very clear about the different types of training they offer. We decided on the two week board and train. Brooke, our trainer was very welcoming and made us a comfortable leaving our mastiff Finnegan in her care. She provided frequent updates, pictures and a video throughout Finnegan’s training. The second week of his training we went for a training lesson, this made us feel more prepared for our training on going home day and ultimately bringing Finnegan back home. We are very pleased with Finnegan foundational training. We are grateful for Brooke she did a fantastic job! Absolutely the best place for anyone considering training!

I want to give a huge thank you to Sammie for her incredible patience, kindness, and love with my Cane Corso, Blaze Mamba. Sammie was not only very explanatory and thorough throughout the entire training process, but she also checked in frequently and truly cared for Blaze as if she were her own.
I genuinely appreciate what this Proven K9 is doing for animals. The entire team is gentle, direct, understanding, and full of love for every dog that walks through their doors. From the very beginning, I knew this was the right place for Blaze and I. Our first interaction with the owners made a lasting impression; they were warm, welcoming, and so accommodating with my schedule.
We had the pleasure of meeting the owner JJ, who even took time out of their busy schedule to personally help train Blaze. That meant the world to me!
Sammie has truly changed my dog’s life and mine. It’s now so much easier and more enjoyable to take Blaze out in public and go through everyday tasks with confidence. I applaud everyone at Proven K9 for their dedication and the personal touch they bring to their work.

J.J. was direct and clear on all elements of the signing up, timelines, contracts and payments from the first contact until the hand-off. He had great confidence in his trainers. Each one was consistent and unique in how they accomplished their training. Sammie, Brooke and Josh coordinated as a Team in achieving the best results in dog obedience training. All were supportive to my expectations and needs while the dogs were in their care. Report Cards and email messages were sent for good communication including photos and videos of the daily activities. Each trainer was open to answering any questions and flexible to change if needed based on the development/age of my dogs. Most definitely an eye opener to what is best for having a confident, well-trained dog. I look forward in continuing to be advised by these three trainers and am happy that time was well spent on making each dog successful. I give Proven K-9 DFW a 5 -star rating on Professional staff, a clean facility, and lifetime guidance in dog safety.
