Proper Pup Dog Training -

I cannot, CANNOT, recommend Proper Pup dog training enough. Our Proper Pup trainer Elijah has been an extremely knowledgeable mentor to us and a wonderful guide to Matlock, our sheepadoodle puppy. Matlock has had the honor of being trained by Elijah since he was 9 weeks old. (At the writing of this review, Matlock is 4 month/~ 18 weeks old.) Throughout the course of this critical socialization period, Elijah was able to provide Matlock with the training he will need his entire life to be a confident and sociable family dog. All with his natural dopey personality intact! My husband and I can unequivocally say that having enlisted Elijah’s service during this critical period of puppy ownership has been essential during our journey in becoming new pawrents. If you’re looking for a trainer that will put positive reinforcement based training to committed practice, Elijah is your guy!!!

We rescued a Husky mix he had never been around other dogs or people for the first 2years he would get feed once a week the house got raided and we saved the dog, he did fine with our two dogs at our house so we wanted to take him to the dog park with his new family and he went absolutely crazy bite and growled barked wanted to attack any other dog he saw! He was absolutely crazy and at 100 pounds impossible to handle. Saw Elisha walking a husky next to my work I talked to him about to dog he was walking and told him about my new kid he told me about the guy he was walking and how he was before he started working with him, so I decided to give him a try best thing I ever did after some lessons for my new dog and me we can now take him to the park and he loves meting other people and dogs I recommend Elisha to any one!!! After a few attempts walking him I gave up till Prober Pup Best thing I could have done!

We had a GREAT experience with Proper Pup Training. Highly recommend!
We attended a group class at See Spot Run in Alameda. The facility is perfect for a group, and our trainer Antonio was knowledgable, thoughtful, and taught us a lot.
What we really appreciate is that we learned HOW to train our dog. During class sessions we used those skills to teach sitting, laying down, and leash walking.
And we left the class knowing how to use training for anything we might need in the future.
Proper Pup Training is a wonderful training group, and See Spot Run is a wonderful pet store, with great services. (We’ve had our cat and puppy’s nails trimmed there often.)

We did a 1:1 session with Elijah and our pup and it was super helpful! He was so kind and knowledgeable. He listened to what we specifically wanted to work on and taught us awesome positive reinforcement strategies. Would definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed working with Elijah with our pup. Really excellent experience all around. We really appreciated to key aspects of the Elijah's work.

First and foremost, Elijah has an uncanny ability (it's not just the treats!) to get a dog engaged and attentive immediately. Our pup was always ready listen and learn when Elijah was over.

Second, Elijah was wonderful at communicating to us how to extend his training beyond the sessions. This includes excellent verbal communication during the sessions and hand-out materials that reinforce what you learned.

A final note, Elijah also offers other services like dog-walking and puppy sitting. We had Elijah puppy-sit a few times and that has always been a very positive experience as well.

We have worked with Antonio from Proper Pup since December 2019, and the whole journey has been a great experience.

Not only was Antonio tasked with training our stubborn little pup, but with retraining us too. We trained our childhood dogs, but Antonio taught us superior methods.

The experience and the current knowledge (not antiquated) Proper Pup has to offer brought us fast results with our headstrong husky/pitbull mix.

Their prices are very affordable, especially when you compare to other trainers. We were even able to extend our sessions longer than we originally planned.

As a person, Antonio is super friendly, very responsive and extremely punctual. He is also very flexible with both scheduling and customizing lessons. Once our puppy had all her proper vaccines, he helped her become socialized with his own lovable, very well-trained dogs.

I’ve already recommended Antonio to friends with dogs, and will continue to do so.

Elijah is a dream worker. Bodhi trusted him from the go, and has enjoyed learning with him over these past couple weeks. He’s punctual and friendly. Honest and fairly priced. He’s really changed the way we get to enjoy and interact with our pup. We are going to continue with training and hopefully in time really have a well behaved pup.

We wholeheartedly recommend Elijah if you are looking for a dog trainer! He was so helpful with both of our dogs. Elijah was easy to communicate with and he listened to what we were looking for and then more than delivered. He was flexible with location and came to our house as well as meeting us at our local park to work on different skills. Our little dog can be aggressive, growling and nipping at dogs and people. Elijah gave us so many tools and we have seen a huge change in our little doggo! We saw progress even after our first session with Elijah. He is knowledgeable, patient, and professional. We appreciate that he gave us activities to practice with our dogs to help them relax. You are in good hands with Elijah!
