We took our dog here a couple times and looking back all I have to say is thank goodness we don't take her here anymore. The building stunk. My dog was terrified when we would go back. I basically had to drag her in there, and that is very out if character for her. The grooming was so inconsistent. One time it was a decent haircut and then another haircut she was still wet when we picked her up. We truly realize just how bad it was now that we go to a different high quality groomer.

Cannot love this place enough. Time and time again they never fail me. I boarded 2 of my dogs with them for the week while on vacation. They are 2 needy big babies with some medical needs and those needs were met during their stay. Both of my boys came home smelling like bubble gum and feeling super clean! I’m super pleased with the services provided even though my boys are happy to be back home!

Anytime I mention going to See Tim and Jimmy my dogs go crazy wanting to get in the car and go see their friends there. Being a person with Disabilities the staff at Poodles to Hounds insures my dogs are in great shape before coming home. Whether it is for nail trims, training or staying in daycare while I go to St. Louis for the day, or staying extended periods of time for hospitalization the staff do an absolute stellar job taking care of my fur kids like they own them. It's about time Mt. Vernon brings a business so caring for dogs needs as well as owners needs to to front of the numerous businesses offered here. Poodles to Hounds are a real joy to work with and the incredible care is Stellar! If there was more than 5 stars to give they would get them! Thank You for all you do for my family as well as the community and surrounding area in Southern Illinois.

I had a wonderful experience at Poodles to Hounds. Took my dog in for a quick nail trimming. I adopted my dog who had previously been neglected and now has anxiety so I was a little nervous to bring her in. They were very kind and patient with her. Huge place and clean. Great service and attention to details! I would definitely recommend this place!

I have taken my dog Cooper here since they first opened and they have been nothing short of wonderful! We had not had good experiences with boarding in the past and Jimmy immediately eased my heart when I dropped him off the first time. They get so much attention while they’re there that they really are on vacation too. I get pictures and as many updates as I want and Cooper has a blast. It’s always very clean when I get him and they will walk you around the entire place so you can see where your dog is going to be. Just outstanding customer service all the way around for me and my pet! Thank you guys for taking such good care of my little buddy 💕

I have use Tim with grooming for my mild mannered but not open to touches from people/ strangers 1 year old Rhodesian ridgeback service dog (doesn’t react just doesn’t want them) and for my daughters wild child 6 month old husky that lives with me who doesn’t know the meaning of still and calm. And prefers to be swimming in a mud puddles as to laying on the sofa. He has done excellent on both!!

My service dog has been visiting with Ken to work on being more open to stranger / people physical attention bc people in public just walk or run right up to him no matter that he is working and is tag no distract no touch no talk.

Both of them and Jimmy and the girls that work there are all so friendly, helpful and welcoming.

And they are certified to give the Good Canine Citizen tests too!! No more making the drive to StL or Belleville for those tests.

Ken, Tim, and Jimmy all know their way around dogs!

Their building is large and clean and smells like warm vanilla sugar wax melts. Lots of toys for the dogs. Large rooms for group classes and okay groups as well as the new outdoor fenced in yard for play. It’s easy access right off Rt 15 with their own parking lot and no struggling with in town parking.

I drive 45 minutes each way to take my boys there. I highly recommend them!!

Twice now I’ve had to make multiple trips to town because the grooming was incomplete when I arrived to pickup. On top of that this time they stunk and have been scratching a lot. The kennel fees seem to be high compared to others also. I have two small dogs and they charged $60 dollars a day for the pair even though I supplied the food and the two dogs were kenneled in the same pen. That seems twice the amount of others.

Very caring about all of the dog's well-being. My Sally Beagle has anxiety issues that Emaleigh handled without any problem. Sally felt very relaxed today. We will be back for grooming and Sally would like to try daycare too. Thank you all .
