Genie is very good with my daughter. Growing up around horses and riding till I was in college, my daughter wants to learn. We currently don't have any horses. Genie was patient and focused and I learned a lot myself. Clean barn, great setup. A great way to properly educate your child on riding. English or Western.

Through our unintended journey into thoroughbred breeding, we have ended up with an exceptional mare. We needed to transport our mare from south of Houston to Lexington for foaling and rebreeding. We did not want Fancy to endure a difficult zig zagged commercial trip lasting days and decided to haul Fancy ourselves.

We found Phoenix Farms of Jackson, Tennessee on the Internet and we are really glad that we did. Genie Stewart and her husband own the farm, which is a well kept facility with plenty of turnout areas and large, clean, covered stalls. Genie was easy to reach by phone and very flexible in accommodating our uncertain arrival time.

After viewing our health certificate, Coggins and shot records, Genie kept an eye on Fancy for 1 1/2 hours in a private turnout area. She is an instructor and was very good with our difficult mare. She let us muck our trailer and leave our trailer on her large concrete parking lot. Genie wanted to know about our mare and any special care instructions or requests.

We had our own feed and alfalfa, but I think Genie typically provides hay with boarding. She got our contact information in case of an emergency and checked on Fancy a couple of times after Fancy ate her dinner. Genie said we could call up until 11 pm. We called at 10 pm and got a full update.

We had asked Genie if she would pour Fancy's feed before 6 am, which she seemed glad to do. When we arrived at 6:30 am the following morning, Genie had already checked on Fancy at 4 am. Genie updated us on Fancy's water and food consumption. She seemed determined to do whatever she could to ease our mare's stress and to provide top notch physical care for a horse that is far into her pregnancy, had just left her pasture mates and had a long day in the horse trailer.

We had no right to expect any of these very beneficial services from Genie, but she gave us great peace of mind. Genie stayed with us and comforted Fancy while we wrapped her legs for trailering and helped us load Fancy. Unbelievably, Genie called late in the afternoon to check on us and Fancy to be sure we were alright.

We certainly feel like we found a kindred spirit and a friend. Genie's place was easy to find off I-40's Exit 87. We just cannot overstate how grateful we are to Genie. Her rates were very low for the service she provides. We are likely to see her again in three months when we pick up our mare and her foal.

Of course, we would highly recommend Phoenix Farms' overnight boarding service to anyone.
