Where do I even start with my experience with Ash? My dog, Lukas, is a rescue guy I have had for several years. I needed to get him used to being around other dogs. Or, more to the point, I had to get over my anxiety that Lukas would be fine with other dogs. I have learned to walk him, let him enjoy the outside and have him respond to commands. What I like most about Ash it is ALL about positive reinforcement. There are not buzz collars or prong collars or any punishment. Ash of PATH is an incredibly talented trainer who is patient, empathetic, kind, and intuitive! She is able to think outside the box and adapt to each individual dog's needs! One size does not fit all and she is able to create custom plans for each dog, working with the client and their personal goals for their canine companion. Both of my dogs have very different personalities and needs. She was able to come up with ways to treat each of them!
Ash has multiple master's degrees applicable to working with canines and almost two decades of hands-on experience to back her book-knowledge. Her professionalism and top notch skills perfectly intertwine with her love of dogs, and I can easily see both shine brightly with each interaction she has with my beloved fur children who are my whole world.
Ash performs expert assessments of each dog and is very skilled at reading their body language. She is an excellent teacher to owners. Those who put into effect the things she demonstrates can see incredible changes and results!
At PATH there is a genuine focus on "relationship first." Ash helps you build a partnership with your dog and learn how to build, or even repair trust between you and your canine companion. Doing so has helped tremendously with my goals! It laid out a strong foundation on which to build and pursue the things I want to accomplish with my two dogs!
Ash is a master at behavior modification for dogs that have struggles, and is compassionate towards owners that fret over their dog's struggles. If you are one who suffers from anxiety and often find it overcoming you when it comes to your dog, Ash is definitely an amazing person to go to, as she is very comforting and encouraging! She genuinely cares about you, not just your dog. She is personally invested in you and your dog with her time, energy and effort.

Before we started training with Ash walks were always stressful and occasionally ended in tears. I’ve tried other trainers before but no one was ever able to connect with my dog and understand him or bring out his personality beyond his anxiety.

She has helped him learn to be a dog, he now sniffs on walks, rolls in the grass, and is able to walk past dogs across the street without going over threshold every time. He’s even made amazing progress in the pack walks and on 1-1 sessions with Takoda, her wonderfully patient dog.

I even recently had a neighbor comment on his improved behavior, something I never felt was possible. I travel an hour away for lessons, no one else compares to Ash’s knowledge, compassion, and commitment to improving the relationship between a dog and their owner.

I will be leaving the area soon and finding someone else to take over our training will be a huge role to fill. My dog will miss her, I will miss her, and I wish I could selfishly take her with us.
