My dog Lucy just loves going to Pals for Pups! Patty and staff are just excellent. All i have to do is say "want to go see you're friends " and Lucy heads straight for the door tail wagging. They're great for playcare for the day when I'm downtown or for boarding when I travel. I know my girl is well taken care of and having a good time.

Our dog does nervous/excited “nips” when introduced. The owner said he needed training and said her expensive training she guaranteed he would be “over that the first class”. A couple weeks into training my husband who was with our dog in training found out he had to go out of state for a work …. Well she adamantly refused to allow me to take over training and refused to give credit towards future training or even ability to make up the class in future rounds when hubby returns. We are out the money after only a couple of classes. Not only do we not intend to use her services again, we won’t be using them for doggy day care. We opted to pay more for better care and better customer service. Oh and when our pup did the nervous nipping she beat on him and yelled at him.
Our new alternate doggy day care says our pup is “the perfect gentleman”

I absolutely agree with the reviews stating size & breed discrimination. A neighbor recommended this place for daycare so i wanted to try it out. He also recommended training there but her methods are much too harsh for me to ever consider. My dog (2 yrs) had been attacked by a pitty & bit in the face. My dog is very calm/ gentle and did not even fight back. I was looking for socialization for him after the attack. He is 25% dachshund, 25% pit- 40 lb. I could tell by the owner/ staff reaction when we walked in that this was going to be a problem. After being introduced to 1 dog x 2 minutes- they said my dog had stiffened and they did not feel he was safe. My options- take my dog to her training class or go to another daycare and get a letter stating he was safe and then she would consider taking him in. At this point- he had 2 obedience classes under his belt through PAWS and was working on his Canine Good Citizen certification. Needless to say, I walked. Found a great daycare/boarding facility in Bartlett- Bark Avenue Daycare. They did a 1/2 day evaluation of my dog & found no issues. Buddy attended daycare weekly for 1 1/2 years. No issues, in fact he usually just observed the other dogs or followed the people around. Oh and by the way- the dog Pals for Pups was so concerned about not only has his CGC, but is also a therapy dog working in hospitals & schools with children & adults alike! As many others have said- Pals for Pups is not a good place. I have no respect for the owner of this facility. They discriminate against dogs and do not tell you about their restrictions until you call- nothing is listed on their website. I would NEVER recommend them….check out Bark Avenue if you want a quality Day Care!!!

I have been bringing my dog here for just over a year. Yes the interview process is strict- and much needed. I have a bigger lab mix, switched daycares due to a move, they called our previous place as a reference and she passed the temperament. In my words, the owners idea is that the dogs should feel safe and play here, not have to constantly defend themselves in a large group of dogs. And I have loved my experience so far. My dog loves going, is excited to say hi to the employees, and comes home healthy and tired. We tried another local place prior to this and my dog didnt want to be there, didnt want to get out of the car, and came home like she had slept all day. This is 100% better, I am happy the interview process is strict, and I feel safe bringing my pup here.

Our Lab Lola loves coming to Pals for Pups! She is always super excited to go and exhausted when she gets home... Prices are about the same for the area, and the facilities are well cared for. The dogs gave plenty of room to run around inside and out. The staff members clearly love what they do, and there is even a vet on sight in case of emergencies. I couldn't imagine taking Lola anywhere else!
