There are not many places in the bay that you can find puppy social with just the first vaccine. I’m glad that Orion offers social for young puppy to gain confidence.
They also offer puppy social for dogs under 10lbs only. My puppy is small and shy, but after a few puppy social, she’s not afraid anymore!

We’ve been taking our Bernedoodle puppy, Ringo, here since he was 8 weeks (puppy socials, puppy 1 class, puppy 2 class, puppagility) and are so happy with the experience. Dieuwke is really helpful, giving lots of personalized training tips. Ringo is truly a better dog for it!

We absolutely love Orion Dog Training! They offer a lot of different classes, prices are reasonable and the instructor, Dieuwke, is very knowledgeable, professional and has helped us greatly with our puppy! We have already attended a couple of classes ( puppy level 1+2 and several puppy social classes) and all of them were fantastic both for us and for our puppy! Orion is great - typically small classes, well run with the latest techniques and positive reinforcement training styles. My dog can't wait to join each class (but has to wait at the door anyway :-)).

I volunteer for a rescue and my go to trainer is Dieuwke of Orion Dog Training, for any challenges with my fosters. I really appreciate her positive force free training methods which have proven to be very beneficial and sustainable for our fosters. It’s rare that we know the background of our fosters, so Dieuwke extensive experience in training dogs from rescues is critical to set them up for success. My current foster, Lala, came to our rescue very scared and afraid. Over the last several weeks of attending Orion Dog Training’s “Basic Obedience & Manners”, Lala’s confidence has increased tremendously and she might even be a good candidate for agility. Dieuwke van der Velde and Orion Dog Training has been an absolute blessing in our lives! Our rescue puppy Leia has trained with Dieuwke through Puppy I, Puppy II, Puppy III and is now currently enrolled in a Tricks course and enjoying every minute of it.

Dieuwke’s approach is calm, patient, positive and always encouraging for both dog and human. Her training methods are always focused on the well-being of the dog and she does a really good job helping the humans understand how to best set our dog for success and create realistic expectations. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and full of resources about dogs and puppy training. We really can’t imagine what it would’ve been like to go through training training our pup without her guidance. We will continue to attend classes with Dieuwke for as long as we can, as it is not just about training our dog, but it is about learning how to de-program our own human patterns and focus on learning our dogs’ language. We have so much fun and have made several friends in class that our pup gets to grow up with! Dieuwke is also really great at answering all our questions and helping us troubleshoot with daily life challenges as our pup navigates through adolescence. We couldn’t recommend Dieuwke more! I took my puppy Kudo to agility classes here. Simple agility exercises and equipments, suitable for small puppies who just want to have some fun - there are not too much space inside. Leena is a great trainer - patient and knowledgeable! We will keep coming back as they have lots of interesting classes.
