My father and I had taken our 2 cane Corso’s for ear crops and asked for a specific ear crop and showed pictures of what we wanted and got something totally different. On both dogs the ear crops aren’t even symmetrical on each cut there about half an inch in difference. I highly recommend people avoid taking their pets here for any type of ear cropping. We contacted them in regards to the terrible job and got told we could drive 5hrs and go back and have them reattempt the surgery. I have also been in contact with another vet that has over 30 years of experience in ear cropping and have been told that he Dr. Rift did a horrible cut and that having a 2nd ear crop is detrimental to the pups demeanor.attached are both dogs ears along with the crop we asked for.

We received great service with compassion today. We had what I thought was a scary issue with our little grand dog today and they got us in immediately. I’m pretty sure we took up some of their lunch time but they never acted like we were a nuisance. They took excellent care of our pet and their front desk made us feel so welcome. Just excellent!

Best vet in central Colorado. I've trusted Kitt Ryff with all of my pets through all thy crazy things that German Shepherds do. Mountain Shadows keeps my dogs happy and healthy.

My elderly kitty was ready to cross her rainbow bridge this past September and thanks to the kind and caring people Dr Riff at mountain shadows animal care made it possible for her to make that journey from home surrounded by the rest of our family
Dr Riff was so very special in how he did EVERYTHING
He truly made a huge difference in our lives and how this incredibly difficult day was to be
He even took our beloved kitty back to the office and did her cremation and returned her home a few weeks later
This was also a blessing as I live in Westcliffe and the office is in Salida area- so this saved me the trip during a difficult time for sure
I still have a very aging kitty that I will definitely be calling Dr Riff again and only recommend him to my friends in Westcliffe
Bottom line a compassionate and qualified veterinary doctor who comes to your home is priceless
🙏😻

The staff is so sweet and the vet knows his stuff. The way they spoke to my pup was comforting and they were very kind to him. He got everything he needed and he’s on his road to recovery now. Thank you Mountain Shadows for all of your help and for providing great care.

Called to see if I could bring my dog in and the person who answered wasn’t friendly and didn’t communicate clearly. I asked when their next appointment was and all she had to say was, “I’m sorry, we don’t have appointments until next Thursday, but I can send you a list of vets that may be able to fit you in sooner.” Instead, she didn’t answer my question directly and just jumped to saying they’re very busy and mentioned sending info about other vets. It wasn’t until I said I’d call back if I couldn’t find another vet to get him in today (thinking they may have appointments tomorrow) until she told me when they next had availability. In our short call, she cut me off a few times and hung up very quickly at the end. I understand being busy, but especially in this line of work, being caring goes a long way when someone is scared for their pet’s health. You also don’t have to rush if you communicate clearly- the call would’ve taken her less time if I didn’t have to dig for the answer to my question. I hope the staff here will consider this feedback and put kindness first in the future.

Recently spoke to Susan at the front desk about our dog not feeling well. We are getting ready to leave on vacation, and he will be staying with family. She was so friendly and helpful! I took her advice, and our dog improved in a couple of days. No appointment needed. Very thankful!

I am so disappointed in this hospital. I took my cane corso puppy to get her ears cropped not long ago and her ears look absolutely horrible.. I am embarrassed of them.

The staff it’s self was okay during the process they were nice and took good care of her but the crop it’s self is hideous and I will never ever bring any of my dogs or suggest this place.
